Game Day Fun
Thanks to the front desk for allowing me to go out a little earlier so I could get to go yo the Texas Tech football game. I still had time to use the practice range. Nice perk. Paired up with another family who came in to see their daughter (Meg was a good player!). Fairways are in good shape for mid September. Greens are gentle enough to hit from outside 150. Bunkers we'll maintained, but stay out I always book a tee time before I get into town. Worth $60.
Appreciative Patron
My golf partner was unable to make the tee time due to an injury inside the cancellation period. The pro approved cancellation of the green fees. This sort of customer service is not unusual at The Rawls course, the staff is always very courteous.
The Rawls
Great staff, town, and course. Always treated with the utmost of courtesy, typical of the TX panhandle folks!
Trap Central.. hot, windy, awesome.
Played on a day that was 100 degrees and windy. Course is hard, 99 traps in total. Great elevation changes. Due to natural landscape if you're alone and your ball is out of fairway, forget it you're NOT finding it. Definitely going back in the future.
Rained out
At the second hole rain poured and flooded everything.
Tough
Excellent course. Difficult but fun. It's good to be challenged. It's a top rated collegiate course in the country.
Rawls
This is one of the most beautiful courses around. Interesting holes, challenging bunker shots.
First timer
Course is great but not first time friendly at all. There is no map on scorecard, or at any hole except #1. Spent at least half our time trying to figure out where to hit. Twice hit into wrong fairway because we thought that was where group ahead went.
Greens had been aereated, so can't say if they are good or not. Some sand traps have the tarp or whatever is underneath the sand sticking up in places. Not fun to hit something just under the surface in bunkers. Awesome layout, will most likely really enjoy next visit.
awesome course. very challenging. Winter fairway conditions. Can't wait to come back once the fairways green up.
Exceptional design
This coarse will challenge even the most experienced player. A must if you're in the area!
Go Tech!
A jewel in the llano estacado
A very challenging course, undulating and fast greens. Cannot be appreciated looking at the score card. A great test!
Tough But Fun Course
I was in Lubbock for my son's college orientation at Texas Tech, so I decided to play a round of golf. Little did I know that they were having a tournament, so the earliest round available was at 5pm. The sun was still beaming and course played very well. The greens rolled true, but some of the pin placements for the tournament was just CRAZY! There was also plenty of wildlife on the course! I played alone, so I was paired with two guys that have played the course a few times and even they said the hole placement was tough. It was pretty dark by the time we made it to 17, but we were determined to play the entire course. Can't wait to go play the course again, I mean visit my son in college...lol.

Excellent Course
Beautiful layout and in pristine shape (tee boxes, fairways and greens). Played the RED tees which run approx 6900 yards and enjoyed the round despite 103 degrees weather and 15 mph winds.
It's a challenging course and requires smart play to save par.
