Decent Florida Course
Golfed here twice as a single and added to a threesome each time. We all agreed that this was a pretty decent course and we would all return here in the future. Florida golf is no longer cheap and there are many mediocre courses. Finding this course and paying the daily deal was great value for our money. Staff are friendly and range is included. I usually played at the Tides when In Florida, but SPCC much better value..
Great layout
I was very impressed with this layout. A good mixture of holes. A few small greens but most are large and putts roll nice, fairly slow the day I played though. Lots of distance options from 5700 to 6900 yards. Nice condition a " must play" if in the area.
Historical Gem
This golf course was built in 1924, but has been kept up-to-date. This course is fun to play, challenging and very scenic. Is very professionally managed and the pace of play was excellent. The fairways and greens or thick and lush especially for Florida. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for an enjoyable round of golf
Well Designed Golf Course
Have played here three times with my wife. She plays the forward tees and it is obvious that a good deal of thought was put into settin it up for 'short hitters' and beginners - a rarity, in my experience. This part is excellent and brings us back. There are no weak holes. The par 3's are scenic and (for a change) each is a varied iron shot - not metals or drivers! I particularly like the par 4's on the back nine. The par 5's are set up for potential birdies although the first one is a good challenge and par is good, there is a pond just off the green, so a risk/reward hole. The greens are challenging, grainy and sloped. They usually run about 11 but yesterday were a little slower due to the overnight rain. The fairways are in excellent condition for this time of year. The rough is dormant so not in great shape right now. The sand traps are different than what I am used to, even in Florida. they are well maintained though. Lots of wildlife - alligators in almost every pond, lots of osprey and other birds around. Practice range included in green fee and a very large putting green. there is also a practice green in the practice area if you have time.
St Pete country club
Well worth the money and it is challenging also lots of water
Great layout.
Pace of play less than four hours. Wide open fairways and small, well bunkered greens. Greens were great shape but putted too slowly for my liking. All in all my favorite course to play in St. Pete. Will likely become a Winter Member.
Beautiful course and layout. Lush greens and fairways. Will definitely try and play here again soon.
Best Deal
Great course...try it from the blues if you have the game....practice range very good too....well done!
A MUST PLAY COURSE
Course was in really good shape for this time of year. Wild life views were impressive including alligators!!!! We left one of our golf balls in the water there! Bunkers and greens were in great shape and course layout was very fair for all levels of ability in our group. Looking forward to coming back for sure.
great layout and conditions
loved the course and the staff was very friendly and
helpful. even let us tee off early
No marshalls.
There were no marshals on the course. Play was extremely slow with a group of two women starting off very slowly and then joining the threesome ahead to make a fivesome. On the back nine four guys who were in the bar decided to play the back nine ahead of us. We waited on every hole. I know this is a country club but some of us paid for and wanted to complete our round on a timely basis.
great experience
Staff friendly. Greens very good, fast. Overall course was fun to play. We will return.
Nice track
Got around in 31/2 hours. Nice layout, lots of water. Resident alligator. Rough is nasty!
Not too bad
Was greeted right away by a gentleman with a golf cart great service from their proshop was quick course was decent a little dry but played with some really nice people had a great time not bad for the money
Good course in good condition
A good course. The practice range makes it difficult if not impossible to use a driver. And the range could be better seeded. But this is a good course, one that I wish would be available through Golf Now on a more regular basis. The clubhouse is nice, the bar has never run out of liquor to my knowledge. The fescue makes hitting out of the rough, even inches from the fairway, difficult. The course is well laid out. It is worth playing and returning to.
