St. Petersburg Country Club

St. Petersburg Club has a really nice layout in a quiet setting. We played later in the afternoon and it wasn't too busy... we played in about two and a half hours.
Really nice greens and the course is in great shape.

Booked on Golf Now. When I showed up the pro shop guy told me I would be with couple of other guys which was great. They ended being late, so he said take off and have fun. The cart guy was super friendly as well, which made the entire experience worthwhile. There is some water on the course but driving lanes are very fair.

Some difficult holes and very good layout.

Next time I play I'll definitely be walking. Bunkers could use some work to be as good as the greens. Greens had a couple bad spots but didn't effect me at all today as they rolled pretty true and were of good speed. The rough and fairways were nicely cut and very full.

Course was really fun. The staff was excellent. Beautiful setting.

Good semi-private course at a great deal. Was greeted by very friendly staff from the start. Course was a little rough due to the massive amounts of rain we have recd but overall in great shape. Greens were tough as they had not been rolled but that was probably due to the rain.

Will definitely play again..

Been playing this course my entire life and it has had its ups and downs. But it's tough to beat the layout (no parallel fairways). The new greens keeper really seems to have things headed in the right direction. The fairways are excellent, the rough is the perfect height to punish a missed fairway without being too harsh, and the greens are rounding into shape.

The staff is always friendly and you can't beat the pace of play.

It had been 9 months since I played this course, and let me say... WOW!! The new superentendant has this course very well maintained. aside from them letting the greens grow out after a tourney (rolling about a 7.5... i have never seen it look this good!!!! Kudos I will return soon.

Plat SPCC, you won't be disappointed. The staff is the best i have ever seen and cares about the customers.

This is my favorite course to play in Tampa Bay. It is the only course I have played that almost always makes me feel like you have the whole place to yourself during your round.

I was supposed to be part of a three-some, or so I was told in the Pro Shop. I went out to the tee box and saw three gentlemen waiting to tee off. I asked if they had the same tee time as me, since it was one minute until my tee time. One of the rudely informed me they didn't have a tee time. They proceeded to tee off. I had to wait on every shot for 9 holes.

When I made the turn, the course had allowed a five some to tee off in front of me. I decided to leave the course rather than stand and wait for another 9 holes.

The course itself is very average. Don't waste your money here.

This was my second time at this course and was just as great as the first. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. I will definitely recommend this course and come back.

The ONLY reason I didn't give course conditions a five-star rating was because the greens had been aerated recently and the marks weren't completely gone. Other than that, it's a beautiful course. The greens still rolled well, though a hair slow for my tastes; probably due to the aerification marks. The fairways were plush and the greens receptive. A good combination of short and long holes, and tough doglegs. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. If I lived in the local area, this would be my home club. My daughter and I had a great day and can't wait to get back to this beautiful course. I highly recommend you get out to play this one!

Played with my Father in Law and we both really enjoyed the course. Fairways were very good and the greens were consistent. Staff was friendly and helpful Best of all, the pace of play was very good with us being able to play in 3 1/2 hours.

Plays this course after getting it on GolfNow for $40. The course had very little players on it so the pace of play was excellent. The layout was very good and since we played from the tips it was almost 7000 yes and made it more challenging. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the weather was perfect.
Now for the bad news:
1. 5-6 of the greens had a bad fungus on them so they were very choppy.
2. Some fairways had rough spots as well so you had to go with "summer rules" quite often here.
3. Course is surrounded by lower income homes which doesn't make for great scenery and we even had to chase 2 kids off of one of the tee boxes since they were riding bikes down the hill!

This is a challenging design with a lot of strategic water placement so you need to hit it straight but this course could be 4 stars overall with better course greens keeping! Bring back Carl Spackler!

If in St.Pete's area give this course a try, Very nice layout. Private course that only gives out a few tee times a day for Golf Now. Good challenge but fair, rewards straight drives with good approaches to greens. Staff were very accomodating, you won't be disappointed.

Two issues: One, could only make tee time through Golfnow--I called from car and pro shop would not make a tee time for us-- tough to do while driving

Two--course (fairways and greens) in very poor shape--only redeeming feature is that it was empty and we played fast. Very unimaginative layout.

Do not recommend

Never made it to course. Partner got extremely sick and had to take to ER.
Golf Now got its 4.95 and Golf Club was notified and canceled tee time with no issues. Played course month ago and its worth playing. Hope to get there next couple weeks.

In the height of the golf season in Florida one would think a private country club course would be in excellent shape. Unfortunately, not the case. The greens and fairways were all scored, course maintenance very average. Staff outstanding. Pace of play terribly slow. We stopped after 9 holes of play and went to the restaurant at 3:20 pm. Kitchen closed at 3. Seriously, on a Saturday?
