The Hooch Golf Club sits along the Chattahoochee River in Duluth, sprawling across a scenic landscape covered with ponds and lakes. The course is an executive, par-61 layout that combines traditional features with modern challenges. Although there aren't any par 5s on the golf course there are a few holes that stretch to over 400 yards, which guarantees that you'll be using all the clubs in your bag. There is plenty of water throughout the golf course, including three holes that play right along the river. It might not be what you're looking for if you want something truly formidable, but for a short course it's a good challenge that provides excellent iron practice. Besides the golf course, The Hooch is also known for its 12-acre, lighted driving range. There are also putting and chipping greens with a deep-faced practice bunker.

Fun course, but greens need some TLC
Pace of play was great for Labor Day weekend. Finished our round in under 3 hours on Sunday morning. Course was in good shape except for the greens and bunkers. Greens were super slow and had dead spots all over them. Fix this and put some sand in the bunkers and it would be a great track.
Everything was satisfactory except the bunkers. They were in horrible shape. Recent rain contributed to that I'm sure but it was as if they had given up. No repair or raking at all.
Great course for short game
I play this course a lot. I like the layout and the holes create enough of a challenge that it makes it fun to play. The driving range/practice putting green and pitching areas are small but well maintained. Right now the sand traps are in bad repair due to heavy rains. There is a big problem with golfers not repairing their divots on the greens. Suggest signs be posted reminding golfers of this simple courtesy.
Great Little Course
I play The Hooch quite regularly, and enjoy the course for the value, and the course condition is good. People that play the course really need to do their part and repair ball marks. This is a problem that is ongoing. The crew works hard keeping it in good condition, and I always have a great experience with the staff when playing. A great "go to" local course.
Great value
Great staff. Nice range. They have excellent independent instructors.
Some good challenges. Great for short game.
The sand traps aren't any good.
The built a nice porch but need the tv's on. Would love more food items. But, it's an inexpensive local course.
Quick and easy play
Fun short course that has a few challenging holes. Sometimes it gets crowded and pace of play is slow. If you catch it at a good time though you can get a round in under 3 hours. Greens are never in that great of condition.
BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK
If you're a golf snob then playing this golf course may be something to scoff at,.but if you are a novice to intermediate,.it's just friggin great,.I really like the layout with 9 holes on one side and 9 holes on the other,.It makes you feel as though you are playing a "real" course,.
No,.The greens aren't the best,..a bit beat up but by no means horrible,.they were at least cut low.,.and when I played, the bunkers were wet from the rain that came the night before,.but they had at least 4 guys working on the course,.so they were at least TRYING,.
There is at least 4 water holes,.and a few that you have to lay up your drive and then set up for a shot into the green over thickets
It's got a few too many short par 3's where you just need a sw or pw,.but over all the place was just charming?,.I never use that word,.
They have some really nice cart paths that go over wooden bridges that made it really cool,.I just like it and it will be my "par 3" course forever as long as they keep it up
The Marshal neamed Judy was as pleasant as they get,.and that sometimes just makes you comfy right off the bat to play some FUN golf!
Ball marks
This is a great course to tune up your game. Course is very playable. Has lots of bunkers and water to play around. Must be able to control the ball. Love playing here, probably play again next week
Course is maintained very well. Biggest PROBLEM. PLAYERS WILL NOT REPAIR BALL MARKS ON GREENS. Otherwise good course.
Thank you!!
My son and I played this morning at The Hooch. It was a rainy, wet day, but we had so much fun. My son is young and is just getting into Golf. The shorter lay out works well for his skill level and it was very enjoyable for me as well. The staff, starter and marshal were all very nice. We had a great time. Thank you. We'll be back again next weekend!!
Fun executive course
This course is a fun place to head after work and work on your game. The course has a nice range, a putting green, and a chipping area. Most courses like this I have played have short par threes, however this course has 11 standard length par 3 holes and 7 slightly shorter than average par 4 holes. The course is upkept nicely and is definitely worth it.
