Slow play
Great course for the money. Tee time was right on. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pace of play was slow and had to wait on each hole. Saw quite a few marshals on the course but it did not seem to help. We played as a threesome and towards the end one marshal told us that they had a tournament that just finished but that did not matter as we still waited. Round we played at over 4 1/2 hours.
Scenic pleasure
First tee time, played 18 in 3 hours. Greens were smooth and even, but a little slow. Lovely layout. Nicer than the blue 9.
Incredible Course!
Great course and nicest in Cherokee County! I'll be back --
Potential, but problem ares are not addressed
Prior reviews list a few issues: the lack of sand in bunkers, slow play, and marshalls not doing anything but ball hawking. In my opinion, two of the three issues remain. Another issue to add is the lack of staff in the Pro Shop. At one point, there were 8-9 people in line to pay. A simple solution is to teach one of the guys pulling carts out to run a register and call them in as needed.
BUNKERS - There was good sand in almost all of the bunkers, although a few needed to be be raked as they had been packed own by rain or the sprinklers. The sand was equal or better than most public courses I have played.
PACE OF PLAN and MARSHALLS - While there are numerous signs about a 4:20 round and the Starter saying "We'll see you back here in two hours to make the turn", there was little done to move things along that we could see. At one point a marshall did have the group in front of us skip a hole as they were so slow and far behind... and we caught up with them again after two holes. Later, the marshall sat on the 18th fairway ball hawking while this group hit EIGHT tee shots before finally driving off as we walked up to the tee box. Our round took 4:55 - completely unacceptable any day - but especially on beautiful Saturday morning with no weather issues to deal with.
We played the White and then Blue nines. The layout in interesting and enjoyable with some local knowledge required as bunkers stick out in places you could not see from the tee and one or two doglegs that offer options also not visible from the tee.
WILL WE COME BACK - Yes in hopes things improve based on this feedback. If not, that will be our last time.
Challenging but fun
The course was definitely geared towards a more experienced player based on all of the elevation changes and locations of the hazards. It is very scenic, and the greens were in great condition. The tee boxes were in poor condition, but rest of the course seemed to be well taken care of. The marshals did a good job managing the groups on what was a very crowded day on the course. I recommend this course as a $40 to $60 option.
People and Marshall very nice . Course in decent shape but pace of play was very slow
Golfer beware
They have no idea how to manage tee times and groupings. Booked a tee time as a single for 1032. Couldn't tee off till 1045 and they put me in the middle of 6 foursomes. I think they sold my tee time and tried to "fit me in". Golfer beware. Not a great management team. This isn't rocket science. Frustrated and will never go back. Way more options in the Atlanta market.
Bradshaw Farms
Masters weekend, so decided to play. Course was starting to green up. Greens good condition, fairways needs a little work, tee boxes need moderate work.
Great staff and fun course
Challenging course in a good way. Greens in excellent condition. Fairways typical for Georgia this time of year. Played the blue to start which was busy, but had the red to ourselves. The red had some tough holes that really made you think. Beautiful setting and very helpful staff.
Nice Layout - Friendly Staff - Bad Bunkers
I have played this course several times and really like it. There are three nine hole courses and I have only played the Red/White combination. I find the layout is challenging and the fairways in good condition given the dormant grass on the fairways and the soggy conditions because of heavy rain the day before. The greens are in great shape and roll fast. The pin placements were often challenging. The bunkers, however, need a lot of work. The sand is more the consistency of dirt sprinkled with gravel. Many had water in the bottoms because of the recent rain and poor drainage. We deemed most of them unplayable and pulled the ball out. The driving range consist of mats to hit off of (I hate mats) and you hit down into a valley. You really can't get any sense of distance. The putting green is excellent. Many of the carts are I saw ready for replacement. They give you a key at the counter and you pick one. I had to try several before I found a decent one that was clean enough and looked like it wouldn't cause problems during the round. On a previous round I had one die on me coming up the steep hill on #9. The clubhouse is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Overall I like this course a lot and had a great Hot Deal rate on GolfNow. I would consider joining the club as it is a short drive from my home. I hope they pay attention to some of the deficiencies for the coming season to make this course even better. I will definitely be back.
Poor quality overall
Condition of tees not good. To be fair, this is not the growing season. Greens also inconsistent in quality and cut. Terrible range, mats only and poor quality balls. Bunkers not maintained, liner showing through. Management doesn't put much into their maintenance budget. Too many other options for this price range $55-65 weekend.
Great course
This was my 1st time playing here. It was a "PERFECT" day weather wise. Course was crowded but I expected that considering the weather. The staff was extremely courteous considering the pressure they were under due to a large group that went out before me. The group was initially for 50 players but 60 showed up.The staff still put them all out AND managed to care of the other players. Fabulous work. PS: I was not part of te large group.
Painfully Slow, needs manicuring, no Beverage cart.
Have played this course a lot over the years. Seems like every year it takes a step backwards. Such a shame as the course at one time was pretty nice. I think all they care about now is geens fees and tournaments. This time of year with brown fairways and not so green greens, tough to pay 65 bucks a person. Thankfully I had a coupon. Took just over 5 hrs to play. No Beverage Cart ever came around at any time on a packed course on a Saturday. Woodmont is just up the street and such a better value.
Overall would Play here again
The course was challenging, especially the greens, I think they over painted the greens which made it difficult to read them, they also had every pin location on a hill which made downhill putts impossible. I would highly recommend them talking batter care of the tee boxes, they were horrible- uneven and many were just dirt. The hilly terrain makes it a challenging course but overall fun to play if you don't care about putting.
Here is an idea don't play as a single the Monday after the masters and complain a course is crowed. Its not rocket science or better yet join up with the group ahead of you. Better luck next time Troll!
