You have a sprinkler system, use it
Played the course in mid February and greens in really good shape. End of March, not as good. Fairways hard and little grass. With warm winter here should be growing. Need to be watered. Many tees were dirt. Really no excuse for this. Layout is OK with generous landing zones. Brown Group needs to put some money into the courses in Bluffton. The only advantage is price and this was not a good value for $44.
real solid course
Nice course, challenging, water, sand but most holes have some room off the tee for a single digit handicap. excellent par 5's. Play the front tees if over a 10 handicap and you will enjoy the course.
Good Golf Outing
Had a very nice golf outing at Pinecrest.Course was in pretty good shape especially the greens.Course layout was very good.Loved the par threes.
Long distances between holes-walking the course would be impossible.
No cart service on the course and no water provided so come prepared
Slow play
Great course, but very slow play. Make sure you have 5 plus hours for a round
0900 Pinecrest Tee Time
The only drawback to this course and tee time were tee box conditions. The placement and condition was on bare dirt on most of the tee boxes. Other than that, it is a decent course. I wish they wouldn't have built houses directly on the fairway.
Fun and challenging
Great course with challenging holes throughout. Need to keep the tee ball straight.
Pinecrest
Played as a twosome behind a group of four and the pace of play was reasonable - that considered. Great practice area with a good size range and nice chipping, putting, and bunker areas. Very friendly staff and good restaurant/pub. I'd mark the course as 'average' for this time of year - compared to other courses I've played. Not much sand in bunkers, greens were recently sanded but rolled well and fairways were very thin (as are most courses) probably due to lack of rain. Having said that we enjoyed our round of golf there and would probably return.
Good Course for the Money
This is a good course for the price, especially if you can get discounts from Golfnow. There is quite a lot of water, but a lot of it is visual only, and doesn't come into play. Still, some of the landing areas require a straight drive. This is not a problem if you play the correct tees for your ability.
Greens were very good. Fast and true. Fairways were dormant, which is common this time of year in Hilton Head area. Played the ball down, and had no instances where that was a problem. Overall a good course, and worth the money. Only complaint is that some of the tee boxes were a bit sparse. Would play it again.
Pine Crest- great course
Great staff- had a fun time in spite of wind and cold. Tough greens- but fair. Course in good shape- I'll play again!
