Foxford Hills Golf Club

Simple, one of the best public courses in the entire Chicagoland area.

This is a great course; however, to pay $80 and have no gps in carts is pretty tough to swallow.

Last rounding was more than 5 hrs even Wed. not weekend. I never experienced 5 hours rounding. It was terrible. I hit ball , then wait more than 10 min for clear. Ranger didn't control pace.

I have played Foxford hills in the past, it is a an excellent course layout and a very challenging course. But my most recent visit was very disappointing. The pace of play was really bad, we did not see a Ranger the entire round. We played the front nine in two hours 15 minutes, but the back night took almost 3 hours to complete. In addition it was a very hot day, there was no cart person. Finally there was a huge delay at the turn to get beverages, making the pace of play even worse. The people serving us could not have been more uninterested, even the manager seemed to not even care. Very disappointing overall, will not return!

This is much more a review of patrons than the course. People, please, please, please fix your ball marks. Seriously an epidemic of pure laziness. Foxford is a great course and let's keep it that way. I will admit the grounds crew keep the course a little wet and the greens are susceptible to getting beat up, but do your part to mitigate it by fixing your ball marks. Consider it a reward for a good shot.

Excellent course. One of the best public courses in the Chicagoland area. It's over an hour for me, but I still play several times a year. Highly recommended. Choose appropriate tees.

One of my favorite layouts in the Chicago area. Tees. fairways, traps, greens all in great shape. Fun routing of holes - lots of decisions on drive and placement on greens. Many greens slope from back to front so best be short.

the bunkers sand a little rough and grainy. very picturesque course.

Been playing Foxford for years and it's always a great place to play. Today we had the course to ourselves and it was in wonderful shape..Pace of play was great as it seemed we had the course to ourselves. Wonderful shape, greens could be better and faster, but overall a top notch course. We will be back.

I've played virtually all the public courses in the Chicagoland area and this is one of my top five favorites. Highly recommended. Interesting, pretty and great shape.

The course offers plenty of diversity in hole design and requires good course management. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, the greens were aerated which adversely affected our round. All in all, however, a good golfing experience.

We had a surprisingly nice weekend afternoon at Foxford. Pace of play was pretty decent and this is the first time in several seasons where I wasn't waiting around at every tee box on the back nine. The putting green next to the clubhouse had recent micro aeration punches and when we inquired of the starter we were told all greens were in that condition. Not really the case some were micro punched some were not. As such some greens were really pretty decent (still had several ballmark issues) but a few other greens were hopping nightmares (16th green was marginally playable) ....and you pay over $70 for these types of conditions at the very height of golf season? So player beware....the starter thought this was normal mid season procedure? Rest course is in decent shape, fairways are getting pretty divot laced (made the mistake of assuming the cart sand jugs would be filled but were not) and a sand rake is riding with you on the cart so no one really bothers to rake traps since they forget plus it's a real pain just to get out of the holder behind your golf bag. A perfect weather fairly light volume Saturday afternoon tee sheet says...greens fees are too high....especially when Foxford presents you with a well routed fun stern challenge even from the 6000 plus yard green tees - 130 slope. Recommend play but if the tee sheet is full you have to gird yourself for some very slow play. Decent driving range, a single shower in clubhouse if needed - bring your own gps-.very good on course service and full bathrooms mid-nine each side. Slightly under 4 stars - you just don't know what to expect at Foxford...enough inconsistencies year to year coupled with very high greens fee...it's around a $50 value...not over $70.....especially with those "surprise" mid-season micro punched greens .....

Foxford Hills is the best course in the area. Beautifully maintained and perfectly laid out.
