Wellington National Golf Club
About
Located in the small community of Wellington, Wellington National Golf Club (previously known as Binks Forest Golf Club) offers a tranquil forest setting that is more reminiscent of a North Carolina course than a Florida course. After opening in 1990 to much acclaim, the course unfortunately suffered from poor management and closed for a period of time but successfully reopened in 2007 with a newly renovated 18-hole golf course.
The layout is tight and thanks to the abundant trees, very narrow at some spots. Mature pines line the narrow fairways and the greens roll fast and true. The course thoughtfully incorporates the terrain, utilizing the natural elevation changes and water features. The bunkers were strategically placed to make you really strategize your club selection and target. One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it can truly accommodate all different skill levels with yardages ranging from 5,268 to 7,253.

Binks
Good Staff & facilities. Course needs some work, but is pleasurable to play.
Just for the Value
Course is not in great shape but it's a nice track. It's worth a hot deal on golf now. Conditions aren't great in the summer, greeens are slow, tees not in good shape, but for the money it's just ok especially to work on your game.
Narrow course
I've played Binks many times and always enjoy both the environment and the challenge. Having aerated a few weeks ago the greens are almost perfect and quite soft. The grille for lunch serves many choices however the hotdogs leave something to be desired when 7-11 beats them hands down. I will play this course many more times and would recommend this place to others. Quick note, bring spare ammo as the lakes and trees seem to love hiding golf balls if one misses the fairway. The only course detractor would be the actual fairways, which are a mix of grass and weeds, while all trimmed still looks like my yard not a golf course..
Goose weed
The course was in very rough shape. The fairways are inundated with weeds and bald spots and are not cut down; more like rough. Not enjoyable at all
Horrible
I can't believe I paid to play golf at this course! Bermuda grass is hard to come by...mostly playing from weeds even in the middle of the fairways. Greens have gouges and weeds all over. Quit after 13 holes to watch the World Cup...the bright spot of the day was the bartender.
Not as advertised
First time playing after hearing on espn radio. Course was empty for Father's Day morning. Course was in poor condition, greens seemed to have been air raided. The fairways, tees, and greens just are not maintained. Tiny driving range. At the turn went to the clubhouse to get sandwich and they only had hotdogs. Dissatisfied experience.
Great value
Binks has a bit of a bad reputation but for the money, it's a great value. While the greens can be slow and especially on the front nine, are in rough shape, they are very playable. The course is a technical course so you can't just grip it and rip it on every tee box. All in all it's a fun course to play for a very small amount of money and most importantly it has a great pace of play. I saw one other group on the 14! That's it! No waiting to take your shot.
Binks
Worst course I every played. 2 years ago, course was in excellent condition. Now it is a run down and unplayable. Paid for 18 holes and left after 9.
Terrain de calibre , bien pemsé,
Qualité prix c'est mieux que très bien, pour une ronde de golf agréable et à la fois compétitive c'est le terrain désignée
Forest features
The course has lots of tree-lined fairways with some quite narrow and challenging. If your not in the fairway, then forget about looking for your ball in amongst the trees and shrubs. Also, there are lots of flying insects, which interfered with my concentration - so bring deet. Overall the course is in fair-enough shape with some holes more clean and better kept grass then others. More holes on the back nine seemed to have better grassy fairways. It was good for the hot deal price and lots of fun to play. Staff is very nice.
Open long course
The course is in great shape it's a long open spread out course. Good for any level player
Repairs
Although the greens where being aerated as part of their annual maintenance program, the rest of the course was excellent.
Terrible
I think I paid less then $12 dollars to play 18. And I felt that I didn't get my moneys worth, that is how bad the course is maintain. It is a cow pasture at best. The fairways are combo of weeds, mud and grass with grass being the smallest amount. Empty bunkers of sand. Just a terrible place to play
This used to be a great golf golf course
Unfortunately, it's now a cow pasture......very poor condition....too bad.
Fairways leave a lot to be desired ,greens are fast
If you shoot over 95 good for the price in this area . If your a very good player may not be happy. Lots of sand traps
Fun Course fast greens
The holes weren't particularly long but the greens were large with bunker protection everywhere, which we loved, the difficulty was that if you made a good approach shot and landed away from the stick more than 4 or 6 feet the putts were all difficult. Loved playing here would do it again.
Satisfaction
Terrain très acceptable. Vastes verts mais rapides. Beaucoup de trappes de sable et waste bunker.Les distances dans les allées pourraient être mieux indiquées.
Un peu de pluie sur le deuxième neuf
give Binks Forest a try!
Wonderful course layout and great facilities. Yes the condition of the course is still progressing under new ownership but don't let that keep you away. The course is as challenging as you need it to be and the lack of crowds is a nice plus. The value is excellent and the staff super friendly.
Nice surprise
A real nice change of pace, with each hole isolated from the next. Putting was a nice challenge
With the well kept and 'not flat' surfaces. Front nine still needs more work on the fairways, but back nine in great shape. Food was also reasonable and good. This course is a must play
