Lacombe Golf and Country Club
About
Lacombe Golf & Country Club opened in 1925, but the site has roots in golf that date back even further to 1910 when golfers would use the former cow and sheep pasture to hit balls. It has undergone many changes over the years but the layout still retains its classic character. The golf course is situated along the PEII, midway between Calgary and Edmonton. The par-71 layout is routed through dense groves of mature, towering trees. They loom above the fairways and provide a backdrop for nearly every hole. When the trees are combined with the golf course's small, undulating greens, the layout becomes a true test of your accuracy. In addition to the golf course, Lacombe also offers a driving range and a practice putting green with a bunker.

First time playing the course. Was pleasantly surprised by the design. Only a little dissapointed with the size of some of the greens very small. Overall good condition. On another note I was somewhat surprised that range balls did not come in the total cost of the round.
Hidden Gem in small town Alberta
Lacombe golf club is a 1927 layout with a series of interesting holes. The club has a series of elevation changes through out the course that keep most golfers interested and focused. Demanding from the back tees yet quite playable from forward tees, the course offers enjoyment to all types of players! Friendly staff, a nice range and pro-shop offer excellent value and experience for the golfing consumer. 5 stars from this client!
Good condition
First time playing here and was very pleased. Good variety of holes and value for your money. Hope to be back someday soon!
Fast greens
Course was in great condition. Greens were in nice shape and were fast.
Always a pleasure
What a great day at a very challenging golf course. Facilities are wonderful and staff is friendly as usual. Hope your putter is working.....greens are challenging but in great shape....twilight rates are very reasonable for such a good course.
Best condition ever!
Great all around....excellent condition, fair price, friendly staff, we will return again and again!
Tough par 3s
Lots of fairly interesting holes, with nice greens with a surprising amount of break. The fairway grass is a little on thin side. Because I usually "pick" the ball rather than taking big divots, this means that on a day when the ground was a bit wet, I chunked quite a few shots into bunkers and water. That wouldn't be a problem for all golfers.
It would have been nice to be greeted with a "welcome to Lacombe" from the pro shop staff. Instead, they seemed indifferent to the fact that I had chosen to play their course instead of some other one.
Nice layout
A pleasant course to play with enough sand and water to keep your attention . The course was in very good condition and well groomed.
slow pace of play
The day I played the tee times were 8 minutes apart which made the pace of play very slow. You were waiting on every shot, I know the golf season is short but the tee times could be a little further apart. The course is a fair to all skill levels.
Course was playing good
Greens were fast fairways were were in good shape. A few dead patches but still awesome.
Fun Afternoon Golfing
Enjoyed playing at this course. Course condition was very good with fast greens.
risk and reward
I always love playing Lacombe. It is truly a shot makers course. You have to place your tee shot in the right position on most of the holes as just missing the fairways can be quite penalizing. Some excellent part 3's over water. Friendly staff with a god driving range.
Great value
We golfed here on a hot deal and it was very reasonable. Fairways are in great shape. Some hail damage but it has mostly been cleaned up.
Great course
Lacombe has recovered well from the damaging hail storm in July.
We teed off at 12:15 on a holiday Monday and never had to wait and were never pushed - very surprising since the course seemed busy.
A fun interesting course with some panoramic par 3s.
Avoid the ball washers - toxic - may never have been cleaned or filled this year.
Player friendly course.
Course was in excellent condition first day I played it and staff did a great job prepping course after a hail storm. Greens played much slower ball moved around due to hail stone damage. Overall really liked course and hole variety.
