NkMip Canyon Desert Golf Course
About
Nk'Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course (previously known as Cherry Grove Golf & Country Club) is so-named for its diverse landscape that begins on natural desert and smoothly transitions into lush canyons and valleys. In the centuries prior to the course's construction, the Okanagan people referred to the scenic landscape as Nk'Mip, which roughly translates to "flat bottom land at the mouth of the creek or river." Preserving the stunning natural features, including the abundant native flora and fauna, was one of the top priorities when the Osoyoos Indian Band developed the course into a championship layout in 2001. Despite tumbling across a variety of elevation changes, the golf course is easy to walk and provides stunning views of the South Okanagan Valley along the way. The course offers a fair challenge with water hazards and numerous strategically placed bunkers coming into play.

Excellent Course design and Conditioning
Fast greens, well manicured fairways and challenging hazards. Fun to play. Love hole 11!
Lots of challenge but if not too aggressive manageable
Great course for the player who can use course management. Enjoyed it way more than the Fairview Mountain course because it wasn’t near as hilly and the greens were truer. I’ll be back again when visiting Penticton.
Rock hard greens
I get that hard greens are easier to maintain and have lees ball marks for the green staff to repair I find them tough to get a ball to stick like other courses I play. On the plus side the greens, although are pretty fast, they are pretty flat and not much undulations which make them easier to read.
The fairways are pretty forgiving and most are wide open.
Hidden gem
Easy to book on short notice. Arrived just before scheduled tee time due to traffic, and pro shop staff accommodated me by pushing me back one time to join a twosome. Much appreciated. Challenging lay out with some long par 4s.
Golf Day with bro in law
Today was a great outing, the only thing that could have been better was the pace of play, however, it was the weekend.
We'll be back, but during weekdays again. Played with some nice people, the course was in great shape. Overall a great day!
