- golfnow charges exorbitant booking fees!
Course good shape except for water hazards had algae blooms and smelled.
This course is a great value
The staff is friendly, the pace of play is great. We golfed early in morning and the course was in excellent condition.
Little V
Often won't play this course, because of slow pace of play, perfect time to go out, which resulted in quick round
Great golf course for beginner!
It was fairly easy course to play if your handicap is around 18-20. However, I didn't expect this place to have par 3 mostly. If you're looking for regular golf course with par 72, this is not the place. It has 61/64 par depending on which tee you play.
Friendly Staff
Called ahead because we were going to be late. Golf shop very gracious and accommodating. Course was in good shape. Nothing challenging but many fun little par 3's. Only problem was that play was so slow that it took us 4 hours to play a course that should have taken no more than 3.
Good for your short game
This was a fun course, even though it it didn't have any par 5's. The pace of play was great and the greens were not too fast or slow. The 17th hole makes it all worth it.
2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes
We got stuck behind the West Ranch high school golf team. I think they had 4 groups. It was ridiculous, they thought they were playing in the masters . At one point the last group was 1 1/2 holes behind but still continued to take multiple practice swings, mark and line up every putt from multiple angles, including putts from inside a foot. It took us 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine and it's an executive course with only 4 par fours on the front. We waited on every shot. We talked to their coach on the 10th tee and he defended the slow play saying "it's 2 hours to play 9 here always. Thank god they only played 9 because we breezed through the back in 1 hour and 15 minutes without waiting on any shot. The course was in pretty bad shape and the slow play made it worse. I'll pass on Vista Valencia in the future.
Avoid - Terrible condition, pace of play, etiquette!
Our threesome is average, bogey golf that can score at times. We scheduled an 8:37am tee time so as to be wrapped up well ahead of Superbowl Kick off.
-our first vision was the "Course Ambassador" talking to TWO foursomes waiting on the 2nd tee -
-next vision was the largely ungroomed state of the course. The fairways were an average of 75% brown or bare dirt, even after weeks of rain here in Southern CA
-practice facility completely full, ball dispenser completely empty
-line up for the starter at 8:20am and told to back up as there was another foursome ahead of us
-starter informs is "we are running around 20 minutes behind" at 8:30am!!
-running that slow on a Sunday and walkers were still being sent out
-2 foursomes go off before us, play the tips and proceed to rip balls into the OB 100 yards down, continue to play in this fashion.
-the course ambassador does nothing with their poor play, even as the gap in front of them became 1 to 2 holes and they never offered to let us play through. In addition, they were occasionally dropping a second ball when they missed a putt.
-not sure who the designer set this course up for but a few of the par 3's are over 200 even from the whites and reds. Most players refuse to use those and are trying to hit from the blues.
-I would refer to this course as a cow pasture but that would literally be an insult to cow pastures!
The operators of this course should be embarrassed to open it for play each day in its current condition and should be charged with a felony for charging $40 to play it. I have played 35 years, muni's to private, this is the worst course I have played. I don't know that I would play here again even with a full comp. Sad really!
Great value for the money
Not a long course but very challenging, fun course!
Valencia golf course
It is a challenging course. I wish it had par fives also.
Nice golf course!
Got a great time playing here and for the very first time my Wife and I scored 83 and78 here with the greens just recently having been aerated, not bad for a couple of young seniors and we only paid $16.00 each on a hot deal!
Somehow they still manage to keep this course in great shape even thought there is a water issue everywhere you play.
Was not happy
Fairways were no in good condition and greens were horrible. Way way to expensive for conditions and an executive course. Could have play regular course cheaper and better condition
Tuesday afternoon
The course played fast, I played as single and was done in just over 2 hours. This course plays 3.5 hours regularly , I play fast. The greens are difficult , break and play fast, maybe I'm used to playing city courses , greens make it interesting . I will be back.
Fun and challenging short yardage course
This is a fun course to play. Makes you think about your shots with a lot of hazards and challenges in the way. Short course, mostly par 3s and 4s but still challenging and fun. Course was in good shape, but lots of golfers. Pace of play wasn't slow but wasn't fast. Enjoyed the course but wasn't a fan of the staff. The Marshall and the kid working the pro shop weren't too friendly, the kid didn't seem to thrilled to be there. i just didn't get good vibes from these guys.
you get what you pay for.
Its beat up and dried out due to the drought. But its a fun course to bring newer players to.
John's Vista Valencis
Got there about an hour ahead of time as first time played there. Staff was courteous and friendly in guiding us to range and first hole. They did a very good job of scheduling as we went off right on time. Range was in very good condition. The course is an Executive 18 hole course. I was very pleased with the layout and the challenge. If uou are looking for an easy course this course is not for you. If you are looking for a quality golf experience that can be completed in 3 hours you have come to the right place.
Total agreement! I have been playing this course 2-3 times per year for over 35 years. I will not ever play this dump site again - better suited as a landfill.
