always good value.
A favourite course of mine. Always good value, and even better with a HotDeal. Conditions excellent, especially with our hot dry summer this year. Fairways wide and inviting; not a lot of water to contend with; greens can be tough to hit, as they're on plateaus, and surrounded by traps or collection areas.
Pace of play this Tuesday afternoon after Labour Day was excellent (3 hrs.)! Highly recommended.

Emerald Gem!
Wonderful conditions in a beautiful setting. Nearby residences serve as a backdrop akin to resort, villas bordered by spacious real estate. Very entertaining greens, with impressive consistency. Hats off to the maintenance staff, a great experience for all skill levels!
Good challenge
Plays much longer than it is because it is very windy. Lots of undulating greens.
Good course..Tee boxes need work
Ballantrae is a very good course and layout. It has a nice mix of challenging and forgiving Holes.
Currently some of the Tee boxes are in rough shape, but the course itself is in good shape.

An enjoyable course in good condition which is well designed and challenging for a 12+ handicapper. Pace of play was great for the front 9 but things got slower at number 11. Value for money is excellent and hard to beat in the GTA.

Had a great time playing Ballantrae. I had not played the course in a long time.
The course was in great shape. The staff was friendly and courteous. We had a fun day.
Over Zealous Time Marshalls
Our fourball consisted of 2 experienced golfers, one rookie and one with 50 years of private club membership & competitive
experience. Our pace of play was slow. We were very aware of that & waved through 3 groups ( 3 balls) before the ninth without any prompting from marshals. We even waved through a single who had NO STANDING on the course. We did all this to help the pace of play. Despite our consideration for other players, a marshall continually harassed us to the point that one of our group was about to walk in to the clubhouse. At that point I spoke firmly to the marshall and told him he should have little to complain about given our consideration for other golfers on the course. His kurt reply was " I'm aware of that" then he proceeded to elaborate verbally, totally unaware of one of our players preparing to make a chip. I had to put an arm up to remind him of spectator etiquette.
I left the green perplexed at his lack of understanding of our overall situation.It coloured an otherwise wonderful morning at your club.
Good Course
Ballantrae is a pretty good course, wide fairways, moderate difficulty. It is a great course to play on a bit cooler day. You will need a lot of liquid on a warm day as there are very few trees along the course. Still we had a very enjoyable day.
house view
Green used to be faster but much slower when I played. I usually walk, I think it's too long between holes here. Personally, I don't like this driving or walking through front or back yards of all those houses. Course condition is good except bunkers are quite uneven overall. Some with soft sand but a few are hard pans.
Playing in the heat
Course in good condition but the rough was above average in length (a little surprising).
Elevated Greens anyone?
Played Ballantrae a few times, got a good deal at Golfnow. Course layout is very good, and challenging with almost all elevated greens! I've never played well here for some reason but I do enjoy the course as a whole. BUT I was a little shocked to see the shape of the greens though - extremely bumpy with so many divots and patches. Never known this to be a problem them but hopefully they fix it.

The course was in great shape, the bunkers were a bit wet. They can do a better job at taking them to get them more playable
