Links Style in The Mountains
Played River Course and views are fantastic..course plays slow because golfers busy looking for balls in tall rough. Greens in excellent condition. Great value if booking thru Golf Now....Reg green fees a little steep.
Great round
Despite have two tournaments in the morning, we got in an afternoon round in 4.5 hours. The fairways are greening out and the greens rolled true, however it was hard to hold a shot. Beverage cart was rolling and the staff was very friendly as always.
river course sevierville, tn.
Its long, its tight and the greens are very fast but I love the fact I had to hit every club in the bag. It is a very good test of golf skills.
Beautiful course
The river course is great place to play. The rough is deep the fairways are just wide enough to allow for a slight miss hit and the greens are fast. This course is very beautiful.
Best Public course in East TN
Sevierville GC-River Course is a gem! Right now the greens are perfect-tour quality. Little on the soggy side as the layout lends itself to collect water. Love the redesign as they incorporated new holes with some of the original holes from the old Eagles Landing. Front side is really challenging and 17 and 18 are solid finishing holes. The only draw back is it's on the busy side with traffic and helicopters flying around. Don't let that deter you from enjoying one of if not the best public course in East Tennessee! This is a $75-90 value course anywhere else, under $40 which is what you can often play it for is a super deal!
Steve's first round on the River Course.
Bermuda was still brown, but fairways were well maintained. Greens were fast and smooth. Great layout. Can't wait to return during summer. I expect the rough to make this course hard. I enjoyed the round.
Great course, but just mostly river
This course used be Eagles Landing with 18 holes. As Eagles Landing it had four really hilly holes I didn't like. As Sevierville Country Club, now there are 36 holes with a "River Course" and "Hill Course". We chose the River Course, but the 4 hilly holes I didn't like before were part of the River Course. I loved the actual river holes. Other than the 4 hilly holes, it's a great course with friendly staff. Food is excellent.
Beautiful scenery
Breath taking views of the Smokies even in the off season. Great timing for us to escape that Michigan snow ! Very friendly staff and fellow golfers. We will definetly be back again and recommend this course to family and friends!
Good Getaway
Staff accommodating and friendly. Facilities are attractive and well kept. Course at this time (early March 2014) was not, nor expected to be, in prime condition. All courses have suffered extreme conditions this winter.
Would recommend both The River and Highlands course.
Good price for Hot Deal
The course is somewhat new (3-4 years old) and is worth the money of you get one of the hot deals during the winter. I have not played the course during peak season as of yet. The course is most definitely challenging for average golfer, but is still very playable.
TOUGH COURSE
EVEN THOUGH THE COURSE WAS DORMANT IT STILL HAD PLENTY OF TURF TO PLAY FROM. GREENS ROLLED REALLY WELL
January Golf
Usually January is not weather friendly, but considering the mass amounts of rain before we played this course held up really well. The course is obviously maintained well and add a friendly staff, you have a great experience awaiting at Sevierville.
About the course.
First time at course and as soon as I arrived was welcomed. They had a great staff and very helpful. The course. was quite challenging but very fun to play. I will definitely be back and will certainly bring some guys I work with to this course.
the greens were in awesome condition and rolling true.
With two courses to choose from it is a great facility. The condition of the layout will rival any course in the area. The river course being the most challenging. A large and open practice area makes warm up a breeze, however I do recommend that you work more on your putting because that's where you will score. The greens are quick and true you,ll need to be very accurate w with your line and your speed to make alot of birdies. The staff is very cordial especially the starter Harold who not only knows golf but also knows the area extremely well so don't hesitate to ask for some advice about what to do while in the area. anyway that's my two cents but I promise if you love golf you will love this place.
grand scope of holes, beauty everywhere
really good course, one of my favorites. Mark Wallace and his staff are always gracious. This course makes me feel like I am playing at really expensive resort course but is great value. Several holes on 1st nine are long so it helps to adjust expectation and be happy about a bogey because there are opportunities for pars and birdies on other holes.
Great value
The course was immaculate and the scenery was awesome! 600 yards longer tHan tHe Highlands course with more water hazards.
great course. would definitely play it it again
Good pace and course was in great condition. Greens were fast and rolling good.
Tourney in progress
I booked the River Course, but was diverted by the starter to the Highlands Course because of a tournement in progress on the river course. So, the pace of play was slow as all casual golfers like me were playing Highlands. I was behind 2 slow moving groups. The Highlands Course was rough, from apparent heavy use.
Good course, plenty of water and heavy rough.
Good course, some tight holes, heavy rough and water.
Awesome!
We played the River course twice last week. We were impressed with the overall condition. From tee to green, the course is well taken care....very few divots anywhere. Wide open fairways with challenging greens. The winding river throughout the course made it interesting. When we return next year we want to try the Highlands course.
