About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

Not designed for wet conditions
The area in which the course sets has drainage issues. They had experienced a large rain event in the previous week. Water was still standing on the fairways. The front nine has concrete pathways but the back nine does not. They are rocked paths which some are in bad shape. This made for a very muddy round of golf.
Downhill
extremely dry hard pack clay staff slow to get off the starting 1225 tee time 1:15 p.m. tee off Marshall extremely rude used to have summer and winter greens now only summer greens terrible condition I will never play course again at any price even free
Willowpaths
The course was fair but the back 9 cart paths and the over all cart paths were extreamly bumpy and very hard on your back.
willow springs golf course
course was in good shape with excellent cart paths on front nine. back nine did not have paved cart paths resulting in very bumpy ride. overall did enjoy the course and will play again.
The course is playable
Is it good value for the money a little rough in places but very playable
Great course for the price!!
It was a really good course. I like the layout. The greens were in really good shape except that they probably needed to be mowed. They were extremely slow but they rolled true.
Surprisingly good!!
It's been 5 years since I played this course and was pleasantly surprised. With all the rain fairways were playable and the greens were good. The Golf Now reward points helped make this an easy decision to try this course again. Good course for someone learning to play.
Stay away.
This is a terrible course. The cart paths were rutted and muddy. Greens and tee boxes were bare and weedy. Poor layout.
Best course for the money!!!
My review is simple... If you want to play where you feel welcome and reasonable price, then this is the course.
First time playing this course.
Overall good experience. GPS on the carts was helpful. Greens a little rough as the had recently sanded, but course in good shape otherwise. Staff very friendly. Good variety of easy to challenging holes, both in layout and distances. I plan to go back often.
Willow Springs
A play this full course using a great deal I got from GolfNow. We got on at our scheduled tee time and did not have to wait at all for any golfers ahead of us nor were any golfers hitting up behind us either. The course is in decent shape with the exception of the greens. They were somewhat bumpy and extremely fast which was somewhat surprising considering the amount of rain we had last month. I believe they had just aerated the greens about three weeks ago so that might be the cause of the bumpiness but a little bit more water on the greens to help slow them down would exponentially improve the play. Overall I had a great time playing and I will definitely play again.
Great value
Worth the time to take my daughter to a course that encourages kids to play. She loved it. It was her first time to play
Easy course, nothing fancy
Course was in ok condition. It was very busy and had just started to rain. Played a few holes and gave up. Got a raincheck from golf now. Will try again soon.
Fun Course
Greens are pretty fast and aren't holding - land at front of greens for middle and back pins.
Avoid Fridays
There was a 6, yes 6, man scramble that started just before we got our tee time. This is incredibly slow to play behind. Better course management of tee times or walk on players needs to be corrected. My group had planned to play 18 holes, as we normally do, but we quit after 9 holes. The scramble players in the holes in front of us appeared to be in no hurry!
We will NEVER play Willow again on Fridays. It's a nightmare.
Winter greens
The course is using its winter greens currently. The greens were heavily sanded. I was hitting 60 degree wedges to greens which would not hold shots. Other than the greens the fairways are in the same condition as other courses
Had a good time!
Very basic/easy course course- great for high capper. Laid back, wide open, very few hazards. Took my daughter out as she just started playing- she had a blast. Staff was helpful and friendly, course was in good shape. I'd play it again.
