Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

Great course, should be maintained better
Incredible course, but should be maintained better. Course, staff and carts are amazing, however there shouldn’t be bunkers filled with rocks and ball divots all over the green if I’m paying $100 a round. Still had a lot of fun but that bugged me a bit
Pace of play, unacceptable
To pay $98 dollars and not be able to finish 18 holes in 5 hours is unacceptable. The tee times are overcrowded and we waited on every shot. On the 14th tee, there were TWO teams ahead of us and the third team ahead of them was just getting to their balls in the fairway. We were looking at a 30 minute wait at least until we even got to tee off our next hole so we left.
First Round of the Year
Nice Day a bit chilly but nice! I finally was able to play the Ridge course and enjoyed it, I played with with some nice people and enjoyed the round!
DO NOT GO HERE, THREATENED BY MANAGEMENT
I was out golfing on a friday. Our cart broke down at 5:15pm. Broke down as is in would not turn on at all. The shop closed up and we were left out there to walk back. I called the General Manager Alan the next day, and he told me he'll review company policy but there's nothing he can do. Then i said I am going to campaign around that no one should golf here and he THREATENED ME. I lodged a complaint with local police. DO NOT GO HERE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Worth the Money
So I would like to start with the price. I originally was very skeptical about the price. $80 on some days in the off season but paid $60 to play the other day (still thought a little high for technically an off season day even with the oddball 70 degree winter day). I kept pushing off playing here until someone finally convinced me. Totally regret thinking that way. What also influenced my original negative thought was the fact it’s in Lakewood and thinking “how could a Lakewood course possibly be this expensive?”
Secondly, the staff friendliness and pace of play. We had a couple slower groups ahead of us which lead to a few groups behind us catching up. The starter was extremely friendly and helpful and sent us the the links holes as our back 9. I thought that was awesome and was really happy to get to play back there even being a very beginner golfer.
Overall it was hands down one of the top 3 courses I’ve played at and will definitely be back to try and better my terrible score
One of the best condition I have seen in winter course. I picked the beautiful day.
Great course but the cart issue….
For winter, great shape but you could get out and roll a green or two when it’s over 50. No one is fixing divots or ball marks basically at all. A 2pm tee time and we’re told there was an ongoing frost delay from the morning. This means to me there wasn’t enough staff pushing the pace of play. Unfortunately to compound the issue, they were running short on carts. Never seen that before but eventually, after 15 minute wait, they brought up member’s carts. This was annoying and poorly planned on their part. Presidents’ Day and its 57 degrees out. Uh I think you’ll need full carts on hand. Because of their debacle we only got in 16 but luckily we only paid $50.
