Love & Hate Today
Usuall this course is my favorite, but today the grass 1st cut was too long. My brother and I play here 2-3 times a month, we usually love it. Yesterday we lost a combined 7 balls that rolled into 1st cut and we could not find our balls. Must have been an issue for others as well, we found some with same roll off from fairway. Also we HATE the carts they beep even when going slower than desired speed, very aggravating. Prolly long grass due to late in season, but if open cut the grass.
Top notch
This is an excellent course. Challenging yet fair for the average golfer. For the most the course was in very good condition. However, some of the tee boxes are in need of care.
Latest round at Stonecrest
This mountain top layout is an excellent course always have fun at Stonecrest
Horribly unfriendly staff
The course itself is super nice and well maintained. I really enjoyed the challenge the course had as well. Had a variety of sand traps and water. I would have truly enjoyed this course if it wasn’t for the rude unfriendly staff. The guy that checked up in was horrible. Ignored us, rolled his eyes, and was over all unfriendly. I truly wouldn’t have any complaints if it wasn’t for the horrible staff. I don’t know how you can run a course with staff like that. Completely and utterly unacceptable.
Many great renovations
The course is in great shape the bunkers all have new sand, and they have also added a few bunkers. The tea boxes are in awesome shape, and the new driving range facility is awesome as well. Staff is always very friendly and top-notch and will help with anything that you need. Would not go anywhere else in the area!
I love Stonecrest golf course. This is my favorite course to play, but it is so expensive now, but I love using tea because I get amazing deals.
Love this COURSE⛳️🕶

on this COURSE !!!⛳️🕶
Absolutely miserable
Got to the course excited to play. The front 9 went fine, zero issues.. course was in ok condition with lots of groundwork going on, which nobody mentioned of course and that made the $40 weekday price tag questionable. Got to the back nine and that's where the problems begin. We are behind 2 groups on the tee box- which is funny because we didn't have anyone in front of us all day. We wait 20 minutes to tee off on hole 10- get to 11 a par 3- one group still on the tee box and one on the green- another 20 minutes and we hit our tee shots again. Fine, we get to hole 12, a par 5. Two groups once again on the tee box, one in the middle of the fairway and one on the green. 40 minutes later and we are finally through the hole and we go to 12- which is a beautiful par 4 where you can see pretty much the entire course from the tee box. We find that there are 3 groups on 12, three more on 13, two groups on 14 and three more on 15. All of this after seeing nobody on the front nine our entire round that day. We wait another 20 minutes- hit our tee shots- pick up and head to our vehicle and leave. After a 1 hour 30 minute front nine we were at almost two hours through 3 holes on the back. I would never recommend playing here to anybody if you are not one of the old man members or a teenager from the local high school- apparently they run the show and there are no rules or rule enforcement from anyone from the course. This has been my most miserable golf experience that I can remember.
Great value
It was an awesome course especially for the area. Was in my top 5 courses for value. Paid 40 and was just as nice as some I’ve played at 100 dollars a round.
Great Place to Play
StoneCrest is my favorite course to play in Eastern KY. The staff is always friendly, the course is always in good shape and the amenities are the best around. The clubhouse has a bar and grill that has good food and drinks and the course has an excellent Toptracer driving range that gives you all of the specs on your shots. The carts are equipped with interactive GPS that give you the range to the green, hazards and other carts, which is handy for blind shots. My group played the day after a half an inch of rain, and while the course was muddy, it was not terribly so. The fairways still had some roll and, while the the greens were soft, they were still the fastest around. The course gets its fair share of wind and it’s not easy, but it’s not so tough that beginners can’t enjoy their round. The course is undergoing some renovations that will be complete soon. I can’t wait to see how it will look once everything is finished. If you get the chance, play at StoneCrest. It’s definitely worth it!
Fun Course-Must Play if in the Area
Stonecrest is a beautiful course on top of a mountain in Prestonsburg KY. The clubhouse is nice and the carts are equipped with GPS, which is great because you never need a rangefinder. The course is very well kept, there are plenty of elevation changes and a few water hazards, but not a ton. It is a challenging course, but not so challenging that a beginner can’t enjoy playing. The biggest challenge is the wind seeing as how we had 30 mph gusts on Sunday. On top of a mountain the wind is something to contend with on a blustery day. The fairways are in great shape and cut short, meaning if you can’t hit a clean shot here, you can’t hit one anywhere. The greens are the fastest around, but not as fast as they were in the summer. The course is undergoing renovations as it’s under now ownership and they are making plenty of upgrades. One hole was closed due to the reconfiguration of the course, so we just played 2 balls on another par 4 to make up for it. As I said, this course is challenging, but will be even more so once the upgrades are complete. Also, there is a Toptracer driving range that will show you all of the dynamics of your shot and allow you to play virtual courses if that is your thing. I highly recommend Stonecrest and will be back up there this week.
Great S.E. Kentucky course
this was my second time playing this course. Last time was 3 years ago. It was good then and still is now. They are doing work on the course(tree removal, drainage, bunkers). Course is in great shape. Nice fairways, greens rolling true and pretty quick. Really nothing bad to say about this course. Well worth going there to play. I am from Knoxville and went to Kentucky to visit family. Just play course if you are in the area. You should not be disappointed.

Thanks so much for the great review, m1234567891011. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing StoneCrest Golf Course.
