Good little course near Lake Texoma
Course was in good shape. No real memorable holes except for number 18. It is a beauty. Good pace of play (was not crowded the day I played). Easy to get a tee time. Greens were in good shape. Not an easy course, but not overly difficult.
Fairways
Fairway in excellent condition. This course is a great value for the mony.
The course and staff were great!!
The course was great shape for not see much rain ( locals say that the lake is like down 10 feet). All the tee boxes let you play at you range but still is challenging. The inside staff was very polite and outside staff were great. There was 5 young club members playing. That were very grown up and played with respect for the other golfers. I will play this course again.
Worth The Trip
The facilities are nothing fancy and it's a drive from Dallas but it's worth the trip. Loved the course. Elevation changes, good grass on the fairways, challenging but very fair layout with a lot of variety, sand, water, trees, scenic views, and above all perfect greens that are smooth, roll true, and are just the right speed to make it a lot of fun. #18 is a beauty that makes you strategize your way through the hole to win those final bets of the day. What's not to love?If this course were closer to Dallas I wouldn't play anywhere else. At a GN Hot Deal price on GN this course is unbeatable.
is unbeatable. I highly recommend it.
Greens are like plywood
Grass was mostly dead on entire course. I would say the greens were equivalent to trying to hit and stick on a piece of plywood. Tee box were best grass and it was avg at best. I had numinous shots roll off fairway and green. My partner chilidoged a drive that rolled on the fairway about 290. It was a joke. The cart path rolled slower than the fairway. Hope they invest some water on to course it has potential. I just won't be back again.
plenty of tee choices excellent greens great layout
out of towner there for family reunion, looked forward to playing course was not disappointed. 5 tees all u want from the tips for u long hitters.just could not have been more pleased thanks tanglewood.
Great with discount
The greens were in nice shape but the fairways hadn't been mowed recently and the tee boxes were littered with hundreds of broken tees. Some upkeep would give the course a better rating.
GPS Location
The GPS coordinates received from the App are incorrect.
Nice club house and very clean.
Nice course. I really enjoyed it. I have not played much recently, but used to play regularly and have played many courses in the texoma area. I agree that the fees are a little steep. However, I found the course to be much nicer than the ones with the cheaper fees in this area.
great course, enjoyed it
I've seen the course on TV and was eager to try it out. I found it to be a great course and my only complaint was the driving range was to close to the first fairway. I hit yellow golf balls and the driving range balls are yellow which lead to some confusion. There was a lot of driving range balls on the fairway. Other than that I enjoyed the course very much.
Great destination course!
It was a cold and very windy day when we played this for the first time, but we enjoyed it just the same. Warning - don't use the navigation feature on your phone/Garman, etc. - call the clubhouse for directions. Some very forgiving holes, and some very challenging ones as well.
NICE COURSE, GREENS WERE GREAT
I HAD PLAYED THERE SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST, BUT HAD NOT BEEN BACK IN SOME TIME. THE BEST THING WAS THE GREENS QUICK BUT NOT CRAZY AND TRUE. THE PROS WIFE WAS THERE GREETING PEOPLE. SHE WAS HOT, SO THAT WAS NICE TOO. LOL
Greens and sand traps in great condition.
The greens had great roll and pin positions were quite challenging. Sand traps were nicely manicured with good sand.
Beautiful course, slow pace.
Slow pace on a Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm. Could have been due to a work scramble event. Not sure. Really liked the course.
Great staff, decent layout, course needs a little work.
Played on a Sunday afternon. Not crowded, great pace of play. Staff was very friendly and professional. Not expensive if you don't mind the drive up there. Drought conditions haven't helped the course. Could use some more water on it, greens are a little rough, sand traps could use some work but overall it's a good track to play for the money.
Good deal for the price (hot deal)
Our first time to play this course, staff was friendly, got on for a cheap rate (hot deal). The greens are very hard, would not hold a ball, they were very smooth and easy to putt on. The course was in good shape and very well designed.
Great shape
I used to be a member here but could never get out enough. The course is in the best shape of anything I have played in the area. We played Saturday afternoon and it was really well maintained.
It wasn't what I expected
I have wanted to play this course since I started playing golf 8 yrs ago. But the green fees were really high, therefore it "must be really, really nice!" (Right?) not so much, I got to play it today thanks to golfnow.com for only $5.99 with a cart. It wasn't what I thought it would be all those yrs I dreamed of playing it. Now don't get me wrong, the tee boxes were ok, the fairways were ok, the greens were really nice, but it was like playing at northern challenge or Grayson as far as the course lay out. The bunkers were well groomed and actually had sand in them, unlike northern challenge (their bunkers are over grown with grass). For the most part the ball sat up on the fairways. But still it was all flat, like a pasture, hardly no elevated or lowered greens. I will prob play it again, but only if I get another deal on golfnow.com.
Nice, but not for normal tee time prices.
Played this course the for the first time on 8-17-13. The course was in decent shape, no better then most muni's however. I got on with a Hot deal price that was way below their normal prices. I would not have been happy paying full price that's for sure. Range balls are included, which is a plus. Greens were bouncy, approach shots from just about any distance would bound in the air which made distance control somewhat of a guessing game. Green speed was pretty slow, but they rolled fairly true with little to no bumping. I'd play it again as long as I could get a nicely discounted rate.
Nice fun course, great value.
Course was wide open (it makes sense since it was 102 when I started). Considering the drought we are in, the course was in good shape and the greens were in excellent shape. A wide open course for the most part. A few bunkers needed some work. Overall a good resort course that's been around almost 50 years. Even with the 60 min drive it was well worth it.
