Good Course
Greens are in good shape. Fairways are a bit dry but well landscaped.
Good Course
Greens were in good shape. Course is in need of water. Fairway lies were dry..
Water
Needs more water coolers. Only maybe 4. No cart girl or cart guy. It is way too hot to not have these out there. Fell apart on last 4 holes. Needed water or something cold.
Good course for the money
The greens are really in good shape right and the fairways are coming in. Driving range was well stocked with range balls and turf was in good condition. Staff was very friendly and pace of play was good.
Good course
Good course . Greens are fast as heck but smooth. A few big groups of old yimers slow the pace a lot. Groups of 6 plus so definitely a down side.
Hidden Gem
Nice layout, still had somewhat winter conditions, will definitely go back this summer.
Nice Little Hidden Gem
Played last Saturday for the 1st time. Pro shop guy was ok but not overly friendly. Driving range was ok but needs some grass as Mid March equated to winter conditions still. Same for the course, although fairways weren't bad, you could still see some dust/dirt fly when a ball landed. I'm sure when summer gets here and the grass begins to grow out of it's dormancy the fairways will be lush. Greens were slightly bumpy but not in too bad shape, again when summer gets here I expect them to roll terrific. All in all the holes were not mundane or repetitive as there were some unique holes. Landing areas are generous as with a typical resort course, bunkers were in excellent shape, best I've played in this area in a long time. All in all a great day on a course that I didn't know about. I'll definitely go back in a couple months.
Great course. The greens are starting to come back.
The course is a well preserved Texas Classic. The greens are starting to come back to life a bit, but its still Winter in Texas. Once The Masters starts, this place should be good to go.
Good course for winter time and the money
The course is obviously better in warmer months due to fairways being in better shape with green grass. The greens were in good shape and very fast. Pace of play during the week is good. Good course for the money.
Greens
Enjoy playing at Tanglewood
The only bad thing about the course is the greens don't hold but in their defense they never seem to be shut down for punching or repairing greens so it's a nice place to play
On a trip
I was on a trip out of town and found this course. It was in great shape and had an interesting and challenging lay out. If I am in the area again, I would definitely come back!
Mature clean neat course
I never get tired of playing Tanglewood. You are assured of having a solid round of golf with no excuses from the conditions. Currently fairways are good, the greens are true and pretty firm. Everything looking great , so go out and have yourself a good round of golf!! Friendly staff and no waiting!!
Nice course
I had a fun afternoon at Tanglewood. The greens were harder and faster than I expected. The course was in good condition. I would play there again.
Tanglewood pottsboro review
Course was in overall good condition. Fairways were maintained and had good length grass to hit off of. Some muddy places but overall good. Greens were hard to hold anything on but I don't think I've played at this course before and had never had trouble holding the ball on, just the way the greens play. Had a good time will probably go again soon.
Tried a new course
Now that I live in Celina, we looked for courses in North Texas that we have not played. Tanglewood was first on the list. Greens were in good shape even with a recent top dressing, Easy to putt. Fairways and tee boxes could use a good mowing, but were very playable. No GPS or yardage guide made some drives/shots a little guesswork. That being said, the course is really right in front of you and shot shapes present themselves. Good course overall.
Restaurant had good cigars! Nice little patio to relax after the round. Lots of wildlife all over the course - turtles, rabbits, birds, deer, and even a cool snake.
We enjoyed the course and will be back to play the back tees. Very playable but some holes require a little course knowledge.
Good value, good golf...
The greens were smooth, firm, and quick. The fairways and rough were classic north Texas. Overall a nice round of golf. I'll go back when I'm in the area.
Great value with Golf Now or Golf18
This is one of the premier courses in North Texas. I would recommend it to anyone. The course is always in good shape and the greens are very good and well maintained. This course could use GPS in the cart to expedite play and assist first timers.
Tanglewood worth playing
This course had a good layout and was enjoyable to play for the good deal you get on GN. It was Feb. so the fairways and greens were not great, but in the summer I'm sure they are much better.
