Avoid like the plaugue
Called up to book 2 separate rounds over two days, advised can only book online and pay in advance. Not happy but reassured I would be refunded if we needed to. Shelled out £150 to do this.
Phone call on day one, advised no carts or trolleys allowed so took rebook for following week.
The 2nd round received same phone call but this time playing partners cannot play so asked for refund.
Spoke to graham who palmed me off woth a phone number for golf now.
Still not got my refund.
Cookridge hall is a joke, the course is waterlogged in July so you can’t take a trolly and they insist on advance booking and don’t refund your cash.
I would recommend wike or leeds golf club as a similar quality of course without the hassle (both can be booked without advance payment)
Avoid cookridge at all costs!
Beautiful Course
Gorgeous course, really enjoyed it. Could have done with clearer directions from green to tee but won’t be a problem next time. Finished with a birdie on the 18th to top off a very enjoyable day.
Fantastic way to break lockdown
On a lovely sunny Sunday evening, the course was in excellent condition after the long break due to lockdown. Everyone was adhering the new guidance, which meant pace of play was ideal. The whole course was excellent, greens were fast and true, with great views and countryside around. We even had a fox pinch a ball off the fairway on the 14th!
Cookridgr gc
Course was in great condition. Greens were in great condition..driving range is good but can't hit woods.
Would play again
Good Course
I live right around the corner from this course, I would say overall the holes are good and conditions are fair in winter, summer in a big bonus but I think there’s slight room for improvement on some holes around the back I feel may be slightly neglected. The visible holes from the club house are brilliant but I reckon this is more for show, especially 1,2 & 18. Hole 6 is the only good looking par 3. Overall I’d say its a good course.
Cookrige
A superb day at Cookridge golf, great course we'll looked after very nice relaxing amenities
Shoddy
Not worth playing in winter at all
Told on arrival that 2 holes were closed and no trollies were allowed
Course was just a complete bog even on the higher ground
Green bobbley and over grown
Fairways like farmers fields
Even at £16 each it wasn't worth it
Lad in pro shop didn’t seem interested, shame as overall a nice course.
Greens looked like they had been worked on, very bobbley. Not the courses fault but plenty of pitch marks on greens, laziness from golfers before only takes a couple of seconds to repair
Poor greens
The poor bobbly greens spoiled the course for me, overall the course was ok with the odd hole crammed into space that doesn’t really work but a lot of courses do that. I wouldn’t choose to play this course again especially if the greens don’t improve
Course in really good condition both fairways and greens
Shot 3 under par today due to the divot free fairways and well kept greens. The only downside was using mats on the fairways as they take a little getting used to (great idea as they are a course saver in the winter time). However I would advise practice with mat prior to playing a competitive game to ensure your best round.
Lovely course, great challenge
Played on a really pleasant January day and course was in very good condition. All greens in play and most of the tee boxes with a just a few mats. Enjoyed the round and only negative point was having to play off small plastic mats we were given when we checked in to pro shop.
Good course!
Good course in good condition for January. The use of mats on the fairway wasn't ideal but necessary. Greens a little bobbly but no temporary greens.
Lovely course in a great location
This was our second visit to Cookridge Hall so we had a better idea of the layout. Definitely not a driver from every tee and as someone else said, a course you need to plot your way around to score well. Fantastic views of the surrounding area from a number of tees and greens. Comfortable clubhouse with good food at reasonable prices, will be back again.
Lots of Slow Play
Cookride golf club should never have advertised todays tee off time (10:08) due to the seniors competition that was taking place. The delays in play meant we only played 12 holes and give up the rest, so feel i have wasted my money today. At one point on the Par 3 over the water, there was a queue of 4 people (3 ball, 2 ball, my 2 ball round and another 4 ball) waiting to tee off, it was ridiculous. Chatting to the 4 ball who were behind us one of the guys said that this group play every Thursday morning and its always a slow round. If the club knew that the senior comp was taking place then they should not have taken bookings until about lunch time. Because of this I will probably not play Cookridge again, although I will go and use the driving range as that is very good.
