Nice and green for late summer conditions
Course was green. Greens were great, seemed like every hole location made the ball feed to the hole. Stay out of trees and you can shoot low.
Best value out there, great course, challenging driving holes, but receptive greens
My son and I found a hot deal for $17 with a cart at 2:45pm on a Monday. Even the normal price of $25 would have been worth it. The course is in great shape, and very well watered. The rough was fairly penal under the trees, often 4-5 inches long.
The number of trees demand accuracy, but the fairways do not require great length. If you keep it in the short stuff, the greens are easy to keep the ball on. I'm a bogey golfer, who does not put a ton of spin on the ball, but I was easily able to hold the greens...even backing a couple balls up.
Hit it off the fairway and you can easily find it's a long way back to the short stuff. The sheer number of trees and my lack of accuracy required more than a few low sizzling five woods in an attempt to find my way back to my own fairway while dodging trees.
Green speeds were slow to moderate, so you could be aggressive with putts. The greens could have been a little smoother, as the ball tended to roll less true one the slower putts. However, the low price and actually seeing a green course in mid July made for a great value.
LIKE THE COURSE
ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE I PLAYED THE COURSE WILL HAVE TO GO BACK IN THE FUTURE
Great Course !
The golf course is great. It is very well maintained and the pro shop staff is absolutely great and friendly.
Fun course, well maintained, Would play again ...
First time playing this course. 75 mile drive is along way to go, but it was worth it ... I'll try and add this course to my annual rotation. Great conditioned course with a fun layout.
This course is fun to play
For someone who only gets to play 3-4 times per year, this course poses enough challenges to be really fun. There are plenty of water & sand traps to test anyone's understanding of how to play and accurracy of the shots. Manteca is known for being windy and the day we played was no exception, adding to the challenge. I thoroughly enjoy playing here and will do so again when I get the opportunity.
Course in great shape. Really nice for a muni.
Had a great time and was a long time ago that I played there last. Course was in excellent shape. Would highly recommend.
I recomend this club all the time to people who have never played Manteca
At least 3 times a week I tell someone about this couse. My wife and I enjoy playing it however the amount of time it takes to play 5+ hours in the afternoon is rediculous! They book tournaments in the early morning on weekends and then again in the afternoon. When you get sandwiched in-between. You wait on every hole.
Still i tell people to play the course.
Slow Play
I was hoping for a get through a round in three hours or less as a single on a week day. Was put into a threesome which was still ok. The problem was when our tee time was up it was backed up with two groups still on tee box with a fivesome ahead of a foursome! This place is too slow, won't play here again.
Nice place.. Well taken care of..
Got this place on a Hot Deal for less than 20 bucks.. And it was well worth it! Ended up walking it rather than riding it, which was great. Nice greens.. Nice fairways.. Nice course overall.. Will definitely play again!
Good course for minucipal
Green and Fairway are will maintan in good condition as a mimucipal course.
Great Value!
This is a relatively easy track and in good conditions. Greens were a little slower than I prefer but in great condition. Fairly narrow tree lined fairways but par 5's are short and there are no unfair holes. Definitely worht the money for an enjoyable golf day!
Nice course, narrow with lots of trees
Course was clean with mostly strait but narrow fairways. Lots of trees so if you hook or slice, you may have a rough time. There is a police training center next door that had alot of gun fire going on that afternoon which was a bit comical. Otherwise, not too bad course considering the cost and what you get.
Great course for the price
Crowded on the weekend, lots of trees and plenty of water. Challenging course, great course for the price.
Greens were just punched a few days before. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time!
Overall, a nice well maintained course and good value for the
Money!
Best Muni in the Central Valley
This is a great course for a city owned park. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is friendly. The greens don't have much break to them and the fairways are mostly straight and narrow. The price is right too, about $28 on weekdays and $32 on weekends. (Less if you live in the city). Don't miss this nice course if you're in the area.
Good course.
Its not the best maintained course, or the best priced, and their webpage hasn't been updated since the 90s (prices are wrong), but its a friendly place, with nice people and a good pace of play.
