Monument Hill
The place is in great shape. The course is short for a long hitter, but still a good test.
Nesseled in the pines
. Pretty challenging, club selection important. Lack of water on course.Overall a good time.Ventured in to the club after the round for a cool one and paid fifteen bucks for a small pitcher of flat beer, not so good.
Good Round for the Bucks
Fairways and greens in very nice condition. No complaints re condition. Course is narrow in spots; challenging. Certainly recommend it for the money.
Small gripe: golf cart is noisy and erratic; not a biggie.
We played 18 in under 3 1/2. No one ahead or behind; but we didn't T off 'til almost one (still ahead of schedule).
Great views to the west.
Highly recommend.
Nice course in the trees
Monument Hill has made some great strides the last two years with the quality of the golf course. Now it's well watered, the greens are in great shape, and the course is much improved.
This course is a new discovery!
I will definitely coming back. Fairways and greens in good shape.
Great day to golf
As always Monument Hill is a challenging but fun course.
Tight fairways
I really enjoyed playing this course. This is my second time playing here. Please realize the fairways are tight and private residences will be along a lot of the fairways. Greens were good and challenging. I only pull my driver out on 4-5 holes during the 18 hole round due to tight dog legs and narrow features. I will play here again. The only negative is the cart paths can be a little rough but no big deal.
Trying a new course
Tee boxes were in awful condition. A lot of kids and families. Greens and fairways were decent. It was worth about the $33 I paid for 18 w cart.
Very fun mountain course.
A few maintenance issues but very worth the value. The only negative was we only saw the cart girl once.
Beautiful Course and Scenery
This was one of the best courses I've played in this area. The course conditions were really nice. The ground was not to firm. The scenery was beautiful and with all the trees, accuracy is key. I will definitely make this one of my top 3 courses to continuously play.
Beautiful and challenging
I booked a tee time through Golfnow.com for $27/player. After booking I started reading reviews about the course. I was feeling a little worried about the condition of the course. When we got there the it wasn't very busy. We checked in and I bought a large bucket for the range. The large bucket is huge, almost too much for warming up. We were able to tee off right on time. The course was in great shape. The greens were perfect. The course is very challenging. Fairly narrow with a lot of OB. There is also water in play on several holes. The only complaint that I have is that at some point they switched the front 9 and back 9 but the cards haven't changed yet. This was not stated when we checked in.
A Must Play in Colorado Springs
This course was in good to great shape. The layout was really fun and challenging to play. There are several dogs legs both right and left which made first and second shots critical with various risk/rewards. The fairways are tree lined, and not hitting a shot into the fairways can be penalizing.
This course was for a long time private, but recently opened to the public. You will enjoy the old style private club grounds, and the staff was very friendly.
A real must to play if you have not done so for those in the Colorado Springs area.
Monument Hill GC
Overall I really liked the layout of this course. Most of the course was in great shape, however a few greens we're beat up and the cart paths were beat up.
Some experience on the greens will benefit, some tricked out pin placements made for a few extra strokes.
Pace was good and the track was certainly worth the green fee.
Slow
The people ahead of us were very slow and it didn't look like there was a marshall on the course to speed them up. Otherwise, it was a beautiful and challenging course.
Shaggy
Interesting course, suffers from lack of proper maintenance. Shaggy tee boxes, rutted cart paths, generally poor conditions due to lack of funds. If they had the money, it could be a great change of pace for golfers in the south metro area.
Monument Hill CC
Awesome course! Narrow fairways and small landing zones make the tee shot very important. It's not too long, but lots of doglegs. Greens are fairly slow, but roll true and have plenty of bend to them. The bunkers are perfectly soft and there's a good amount of water for a Colorado course. Overall, worth the drive from Denver without a doubt.
Worth the trip
Greens were in good shape, a little slow.
Most of greens seemed elevated which required an additional club. Rocks at 150 yards out supposedly did not accurately give you distance to green. Overall in better shape than when played a few years ago,
Enjoyed the round and will come back to attack with better course knowledge and layout.
Beautiful mountain feel
Nice course with a beautiful setting and lots of trees. Course is in good shape, greens are good not great. Cart paths need some work.
Glad we tired it
We played on a cold and windy day that ended with a deluge in early afternoon. This is a tree-lined course with fairly narrow fairways and elevated greens on some holes. The condition of the fairways was not great but there was evidence of work being done to improve them. Greens were in good shape albeit pretty challenging at times.
Nice Course
Thoroughly enjoyed playing Monument Hills. I had heard it was closed last year due to the drought but everything seemed good to me. It's an attractive course in the pines with minor hills and lot's of OB. We rode but could have easily walked. The course was in pretty decent condition. The greens were well-maintained. Fairly small greens with mostly minor breaks. Fairways were wide but lot's of OB not far off the fairways. A pond or two. Some small creeks for runoff. A nice course. Biggest challenge I had was finding it on my golf GPS. It was listed as Woodmoor Hills, I think... and the front and back 9's were reversed. The scorecard had the nines reversed, too. I would enjoy playing there again.
