Chalet Hills Golf Club

We play this course several times a year. In my opinion, it is the toughest course in the area. Nice layout, peaceful, good speed on green, hilly but tough. We will come back.

Phenomenal golf course. I will play it whenever I can. PGA condition!

Tee times are too cramped together and the group in front of us played so slow- they were told to pick up the pace 3 times. Our round took over 5hrs and 15mins, that’s brutal. To top that off the group behind us fired golf balls into us on 3 separate occasions, without a “fore” or “sorry” until we had to confront them. There is no reason to hit on a par 3 until the group in front of you is absolutely gone, not when heading to their golf carts and have to drive back towards the tee box. The ranger (but really a starter) apologized on hole 15 & again on 18 about the slow play and said he would be upset, too. Just not acceptable for a course charging premium rates. Won’t be back, until things at this course change.

If you've played Chalet Hills you know that the layout is challenging, the views are excellent and the course needs some TLC in several areas, namely bunker that are pure dirt and rocks. The pace of play was ridiculous for our round. 5 and a half hours is inexcusable. Allowing walkers on a Saturday morning is also inexcusable. The course has many redeeming qualities but for same price as Foxford Hills, I think next time I may go elsewhere. I realize Foxford is Park District and they have an unfair advantage, but Chalet is just not worth the price of admittance.

Very tough course, im a 12 handicap, could have just had a bad day, but I couldn't find my game. Beautiful layout

Windy conditions and deep ruff were too severe for a couple of seniors who spent too much time in the rough.
Haven't played here in many years and the course was very challenging.

Course was in great shape. Wasn't busy so pace of play was awesome. Rough was a little long, but hey you're not supposed to playing out if it anyway. Only complaint is still no driving range.

Unfortunately we had a foursome directly in front of us who took over an hour to play the 1st four holes.....despite having a completely empty course in front of them. A real shame on the Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. We were fortunate the tee sheet was light otherwise we probably would have requested nine hole rain checks and left after the turn. Had to yell them just to play through....and it was the typical we're partying and we'll be out here until it's dark. Several other groups that teed off in the later afternoon hours were not very happy having to play through these guys either. High winds that afternoon kept most golfers away and/or the rather stiff $64 rack rate kept people away. Our hot deal averaged out to about $50 a player....and that's the most I'd pay to play Chalet any day of the week.. It's a fun track if you're a fairly accomplished player with plenty of challenges. High handicappers.....bring a couple dozen balls and keep pace please. Course was in decent shape...some wet areas that never seem to dry out were really shaggy (between #1 and #2 especially). Some other areas in the rough were shaggy as well. Greens rolling smooth.....and cut to a fair speed so you have a chance. Any faster and above the hole putts on several holes would be unfair. Sand traps were mostly miss and several should just be filled in or renovated. Nice bar and grill area....the bathrooms at the turn desperately need renovation..

Was informed there was no beverage cart....but then a was a beverage cart out and visited us 3 times. The Oberon cans bought at the clubhouse....it was skunky and old...might have been from last season...go with a domestic or something else to quaff. GPS has been removed from the carts so bring your own....course distances are very poorly marked to non existent.

I try to play this place at least once a year because of the routing/challenge and shot values offered. $40 value during week/$50 on weekends at most. If crowded prepare to crawl around in well over 430 and many times over 5 hours....highly recommend the course but try to find a light tee sheet or off hours so you can enjoy this picturesque course at decent pace.

My friends and I believe this is one of the most scenic courses in the N.W. suburbs. One of our favorites.

Played here pre-covid and the course was in poor condition. It was a totally different this time, the course is in great condition. The bunkers looked good and the greens were fast and in excellent shape. It’s a good test of golf and you’ll need your A game to score well. Teed off at 1:39 and we were done by 5.
