Pitiful shape
Have played this course numerous times through the years. But this the worse shape I have ever seen it in. Not taking away from all the improvements that has been done. (Clubhouse, cart paths, etc.) But between the greens being in absolutely substandard shape and the fairways needing to be cut better. I will not be playing there again for awhile. Pretty sure that it will take them awhile to get the course back to decent playing shape again.
don't go here!!!!
Course was in horrible conditions and only 9 holes were playable, so had to do those twice. Greens were dried out and cracking, very rough shape. There was no warning on golf now of the horrible conditions, so we felt ripped off. Tried to take my 3 sons for a nice day of golf on my sons birthday and was totally shocked and disappointed. Will not be going there again and please warn others!!
Greens are gone
I was surprised when I arrived and only 9 holes were available for play. There were three on the front and 6 on the back. The greens have been totally destroyed by fungas. The ground is cracked and up heaving.
Was not informed when I booked and when we played.
A complete waste of time and money.
I feel Golf Now should of made me aware of the course conditions before accepting my fees.
Greens
There is a fungus on the greens. Absolutely horrible and should be addressed immediately. Obviously they don't have anyone that knows how to cut grass either because the fairways were scalped in places and grass piled up in others.
Lost Greens
Tees mostly good, a few shaggy. Fairways actually excellent. Rough still needs cutting. Bunkers have not been upgraded, most poor. Unfortunately, what used to be one of ML's positives (nice greens), has become a huge negative. They definitely lost the greens (under-watered, over-watered, disease, who knows). All the greens have brown spots, most greens it is more than 50% of the surface. Many greens also have small weeds growing in them. Definitely not playable for this reason alone. The new owner started out with good improvements (cart path repair, landscaping), but now all I see is cosmetic touches (ex., they were adding a split log fence next to a cart path, to replace a rope fence). Would rather them redo all of the bunkers, fix the cart path on #4 and #17, somehow save the greens, and mow the rough back a bit. Have played here quite a bit, always a friendly staff, but won't go back with the current shape of the greens.
Crew has lost the course
I have played this course all spring giving almost straight 5 stars on all conditions, but the last two weeks that I went out, it had gown down hill. The rough was extremely too high. Everyone I would see on the course was complaining about it. Last week, I rolled a couple of drives just off the fairway, and I mean on the lip of the fairway and rough and could not find the golf balls. It also looked like they were losing their greens. I played four holes and called it quits. Hopefully they can get the course under control again because I enjoyed playing there. When I hear they are back, so will I. Today, off to Woodland Hills.
Not ready for prime time
I visited this course a couple years back. I found the senior rate to be nice price and the course was not bad on my last visit.
The club house has definitely improved and the staff was friendly. The range balls were very shaggy & the range really can't accommodate your driver if you can hit it more than 235. There is the second green located at the end of driving range.
The tee boxes were nice, the cart paths improved recently and the fairways were mowed nicely. The rough was very rough. In places one pace off fairway the grass was around 4-8 inches. Easy enough to lose a ball if outside fairway.
The bunkers suck to high heaven and the greens are showing signs of stress with most greens with large brown spots.
I was fortunate enough to be there when the pins were located very close to to the edge of 13 greens. I counted. Of the 13 greens, most were less than six foot from edge of the putting surface. Even aiming at center of green, you would still have 40 foot putts. No loss, everyone has to play the same course that day.
Don't hit in bunkers and your day could be enjoyable. I wouldn't go out of my way again to play there but the layout is mostly fun.
Grass around Greens
They still need a little work around the greens. The grass was higher than normal but I know they are under new management and will get it turned around. The beverage cart needs to come around more than once a round.
Could not have been better
This was a Hot Deal price and when I arrived, I expected to be paired up with someone else which I did not prefer, but as soon as I went in and told them who I was and my tee time they checked me in, gave me the cart key, and I was off. One of the most relaxed rounds in a long time. Perfect weather, course in great shape and played better than usual to the no pressure around me.
Course in decent shape. Greens were aerated and sanded day before and day of play. No notice given on GN before booking.
Excellent
This course has been improving tremendously throughout the past year I've been playing here. The clubhouse, driving range, pro shop, and cart paths have had work done and they're in perfect shape. The course is looking excellent as well. Greens are fast as usual, but perfect.
Do not recommend
Got a hot deal so I figured I'd give it a shot. Cart guy was incredibly rude. Club guy was short and rude. Didn't explain the cart situation or where the first tee box was located. Restaurant girl was slow and not friendly.
Th course was average at best. Bunkers had lakes in the middle of them. Cart paths had craters.
The course didn't naturally flow and I found myself twice backtracking looking for the next tee box.
I wouldn't play here again, even for another $12 hot deal.
Excellent value
Loved the course. It's about 40 miles from the house in Acworth and roughly an hours drive. That being said course and $$ were very worth it. Two things I observed 1) the course maintenance person parked his cart between us and the green on about 4 holes and held us up. I understand the need to do this but they should work backwards as to not hold up the same group numerous times. 2) the cart path was in better shape than any courses that I have played lately so kudos for that. Will definitely return!
Love this course
The course is always in good shape but just be careful if it rains a lot. Greens in good shape and staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I'm a lefty and with my slice quite a few holes are great for me...one of my favorite courses.
Still not there yet!
The new owner has spent money upgrading the cart paths, clubhouse, water areas at tee boxes, but has yet to spend a dime on what matters most: The course, including the sand traps, fairways and tees. Greens aren't too bad but the fairways are like concrete and the traps are rock pits. Tee boxes are small and bumpy and need refurbishment. Fairways need to be aerated immediately. There is grass in the fairways but it's so thin and short that it's like hitting off hard pan!!. Finally, my group has played here several times since the new ownership. We noticed many new trees plantings along fairways and close to greens. We question why spend money on trees (the course has plenty already) when all golfers want is good greens, tees, fairways and traps. Priorities appeared skewed. I will not return unless I have verification something has been done to significantly upgrade what matters!
Almost there
I've played this course for years, and the new ownership is doing a good job renovating the course. There are still some issues with the cart paths and greens (they were very fast but some were bumpy). A little more time and work will get this course back to 5 stars for sure
Under new management
You can see they are spending some money upgrading the course can't wait to see how far they go and how nice they make it.
Improved
New owners are making some much needed improvements. Greens and tee boxes were better. Car paths are in process of being redone which helps a lot. Lots of little touches that help make the experience better. I look forward to continuing to play here each time I visit the in-laws.
