Old Capital in Corydon, nice place to play
The greens had been punched about 2 weeks earlier and had not grown back in and were bumpy, fairways need some hot weather to green up
Each hole offers a unique challenge.
This is a picturesque course with water, island greens, hills and opportunities to create shots. We had a blast.
Rough area needed mowing.
It appeared that they were behind mowing due to the rainy weather.
An excellent deal. It was very wet the day we played but still very enjoyable. Greens rolled well and bunkers were well maintained.
An enjoyable round of golf. The creek that is evident on several holes was beautiful. Greens rolled well. Overall, the course was maintained very well.
green's are in great shape
love playing at old capital, nice BIG green's, long par 5's and some hard to hit par 3's. fairway's are prefect in spring & summer. its out on the country, so no loud traffic noise. nice and quite
A challenging course at reasonable rates.
I play the course numerous times each year. The design takes full advantage of a creek that comes into play on a number of holes. There are also a series of lakes that call for accurate driving.
The greens are tricky and the best opportunities for scoring are to leave the approach shots below the hole.
The staff is very friendly and the course is well maintained.
Great Greens this fall
Tees/fairways dormant and thin/beat up in spots. No fall greens aeration and they are excellent. Medium fast and true.
Great value, will be back
Great value at $35.00 including cart. Greens are in terrific shape, fairways are in good condition and the bunkers are some of the best I've seen all year. Don't let how open the course looks fool you. You can find trouble on every hole if you lose focus. This is one of the best deals in the area right now and I highly recommend playing Old Capital.
This course is well maintained.
The golf outing was very pleasant. The attendant was very friendly and the course was in great shape. I definitely will play there again.
Lots of water; greens were fast, but true. Beautiful scenery. Did I mention there's lots of water?
Old Capital is a beautiful course with picturesque scenery and challenging obstacles. Water comes into play on more than half of the holes (or so it seems) and can make for some interesting decisions on club selection and shot selection. Greens were solid, fast and true when we played on Sept. 30.
With all of the water, some holes may play slower than others. We tend to play there early in the morning to avoid any type of backup or slow-play, because water holes (there are several -- from my memory, at least half) can slow down the pace.
But the value, the layout, the scenery, the conditions... all good to above average.
Has some very challenging holes.
Several holes provide risky shots in to the greens but if you can carry the hazards you are rewarded well. Course is in great shape. The greens are always well maintained.
A fair course for any handicap.
This course is great
