New Ownership
I have played this course since it opened and it was always well manicured the first 8-10 years. Then a real estate company took ownership and I don't know if the superintendent got lured away or what but the condition of the course suffered. The new owner took over this year and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. This course has had turf problems , especially on the wooded back 9. Now they are doing what is needed with most courses, removing trees to increase sunlight and airflow. The tee boxes need addressed. Pay some kid to go out daily with a sand seed mix and fill divots. I look forward to seeing the course restored to It's luster.
Great course!
Wish it hadn’t taken me so long to play this course, I will be back soon.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition. The carts with gps is great as well. The hills and trees make the course very challenging.
Course and Carts
The new golf carts were amazing the golf course could definitely be in better shape.
Play the back 9
If your drive is over 200 yards, the front 9 is manageable.
I tend to average between 150 to 175 off the tee, so I enjoy the back 9 where the par 4s are obtainable.
The par 3s are a challenge.
Par 5s are pretty easy.
Usually very busy.
Worth the money.
Two Extremes
The course was really nice. It is kind of spread out so you see a lot of area. There are a few areas of repair going on, but I see that as a positive since they are improving the course. Some of the fairways are small and demand a confident driver or a confident chicken with a medium iron. :-). So, the one extreme was a really nice course whereas the other extreme was the terrible excuse for golf that I was playing. First time out and I didn’t handle the demands of the course. Really fun to play and Golf Now’s Hot Deal made it a really great day. I wonder if 4 hours of painting a 16ft high ceiling before golfing affected anything?
Copper Creek is working hard for the DSM golfers. They have new golf carts, and most of the cement paths had been redone. The staff is excellent. I found all of the employees helpful, professional and fast to react.
Wow
Great updates at this course. Newer carts! No need for a speaker or I phone anymore. Carts have new seating, speakers, and GOS. Staff at the bunker were great and friendly. Definitely play here or you’re not getting the full experience. Course was a bit wet but n muddy but we had rain in the AM. Greens were in fantastic shape! Well done!
Like the challange
Good course, great value wished it would be a bit later time.
