Cape Neddick Country Club
About
Cape Neddick Country Club occupies a scenic stretch of rugged Maine coastline, just 45 minutes south of Portland and just over an hour north of Boston. The gentle start offered by the front nine is nicely balanced with the more challenging back nine. Be sure to build up your score on the player-friendly first half because greater accuracy will be required for the final stretch of the golf course. With plenty of variety among all of the holes, the layout will test your skill with different types of shots. There are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, providing tricky uphill and downhill lies. The contours are complemented by strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the challenging greens. Water hazards also come into play on several holes at Cape Neddick Country Club.

On a lovely summer afternoon...
We played the revamped Cape Neddick golf course and found it to be both challenging and very enjoyable. The greens were small, quick and smooth, the course overall was fair and provided a variety of design requiring skill and forethought. First time players would benefit from a yardage book which we were told was not available. The starter however, provided useful advice on some of the trickier holes.
Great Course
Loved the course, greens were in excellent shape and very tough to read. Loved the layout, although short, played from the tips and it was challenging. Most challenging was lay up distances on the par 4s that had hazards which were hard to figure out how far to carry or stay short of. Would recommend to anyone that would like a challenge.
A Great Walk!
Just in town for a couple of days and zipped over there while my wife was running around Ogunquit. While the Course was short (even from the back tees), it was a lot of fun, with some longish Par 3s and some winding Par 4s and 5s. It also had a few 'forced carries' off the tee. The greens were small overall and in very good shape. Staff was excellent! Bottom line, really enjoyable round.
Great day!
Staff was over the top friendly! We walked 18 holes on a hot afternoon, Marshall offered to give my gf a ride up the steep hill behind #9. He was courteous and always smiling. Course was in great shape after a harsh winter and short spring. Plenty of water on course paths were well maintained. Overall a great day at a fantastic club!! Can't wait to come back. And I shot an 81!!
A Nice Surprise
This as a round my wife and I squeezed in at the end of a long road trip. It was in the right area at the right time for us and in the right price zone too. We enjoyed the course and the staff were superlative. I would be pleased to play it again.
Great course
Course was beautiful. Some of the greens were being repaired but o/w a great day
Hidden Gem
Our first visit -loved the whole day. course was in great condition considering the bad winter. More challenging & interesting than we expected. even the wrap special sandwich was great! Love to play again
Single player review
Now that there are more signs giving directions around the course, it is easier to figure out where to go. Greens have been well maintained by friendly staff.
Early In The Season
Some holes had temporary greens. Greens had been recently dressed. Sand covered greens made chipping and putting more difficult and frustrating. Pro Shop and Club house staff were fantastic to deal with.
Great surprise!
This was a last minute decision...When I saw the incredible offer available on golfnow.com, I immediately booked. It was a beautiful day, the course was fun and in good condition and we played in THREE hours! What more could you ask for? We will definitely play again next time we are in Maine!
challenging and interesting
Great golfing - wish we were able to have cocktail at 19th hole, but the bar closed early.
Can't beat the price. The greens are very true.
I've always wanted to play cape neddick, but never got around to it. Then I went on golf now and saw a tee time for 22 for 18 and a cart. I couldn't pass that up.
The greens as I stated before are amazing. They are very consistent and perfect speed, one of my favorite greens.
The front nine is old and really short I hit 5 iron off every par 4. So if your hitting your irons well expect to score well.
The back is a lot longer but more similar than I expected. Silva did a great job of mimicking Ross' style.
I loved the course for the price I would say if you could play it for 40 or less you won't regret it.
this course has some good features
cape neddick country club has a good mix of easy and challenging holes.
Greens should be better.
Played the middle(white) tees and found it every bit and more of it's 116 slope.
However conditions could definitely be improved and should be for the price.
This course was very picturesque and well layed out.
My wife and I played this course for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our round. We look forward to a return visit. This course was very well marked and had a variety of challenges.
Beautiful golf course
great Golf course, weather was perfect 70 degrees. from tees to greens perfect. still dealing with your fescue rough. pace of play was good considering the course was packed
Short front long back
The front was short (except for the long 3rd hole, almost 600 yard Par 5), you needed to make you shots though. Had 3 holes that were very similar, tee off with a 170 club and land with 100 left. Back lengthened out a bit with some interesting holes, though 16, 17 and 18 were all short. I can pay the same in Boston area and get a nicer course, $65 is a bit much for up n Maine...
Golfnow special rate made course worth playing.
Didn't tell us they had aerated greens. Pace very good, even though it was cart path only (?). Course layout was terrible as you continually were driving past other greens on your way to the next hole. Not an easy course to get to, but worth the less then $30 that we paid.
Greens were very good condition and ran true.
Course was in good condition with very nice greens. Some holes are very challenging but overall fair.
As a first time player, somewhat confusing going to next hole, but signed pretty well.
Play was a little slow, but acceptable.
Yardage books were available in the Pro Shop when I enjoyed the course last week.
