River Run Golf Course
About
River Run Golf Club in Ocean City is just minutes away from the beach. The golf course has different front and back nines that make for an interesting round. This Gary Player design starts out across a wide-open landscape before moving on to more tree-lined terrain on the backside. The tighter back nine is tougher than the first nine but overall it's an approachable golf course. The player-friendly layout is gentle enough for beginners with medium-sized greens that aren't especially difficult and generous fairways that offer plenty of room. There is modest bunkering along the greens and fairways and a few lakes and some marshland come into play as well. While River Run Golf Club may not be the most formidable test, the course provides just enough of a challenge for scratch golfers.

Great course
Enjoyed the day. Pace of play was pretty bad. Could use a ranger to encourage a faster pace of play
Pretty good
Played here for the first time in a twosome on a beautiful Wednesday in May. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Course was not crowded and we got around in 3.5 hours. The layout is fine, but I was disappointed by how surrounded by houses many of the holes were. I don’t really understand. The property is huge. The course was in great shape, including the greens, with one exception. Something was happening with hole # 11. The fairway seemed to have been very recently seeded and the sandy soil showed through. I liked the course, but I want to try some of the other courses in the area before I return.
Good only if using golf now!
The course is very narrow. The range balls which are free is a joke. They are old foam balls. Greens were a little dry but rolled nice. Overall if getting a nice discount through GolfNow.
Great day of golf
Played as a twosome, arrived early to do a little chipping and putting on practice green. Staff very congenial, pace of play was good and course was in very good condition.
Course was not in good condition. Staff was friendly, however; for the money the course conditions were nowhere near worth it. Would not recommend.
Know in advance
For a 125$ round you should know there is no range (well unless you consider hitting foam balls a range). Also there is no alcohol or food sold at course and no water to be found on course. Staff was friendly cart girl was friendly but would of been nice to know these things prior to arriving.
Nice Course
Played River Run on the first day of our 4 day golf trip. The layout of the course is nice. The tee box’s were either too long or missing too much grass. The greens were rough. Very sandy and spotty grass. Overall nice.
Beautiful layout. Greens were ok. Some rough spots. Tee box’s we’re a little rough.
Course is quality but upkeep was not.
I love the course.and have played there several times. I don't like being dishonest so I will tell it how I saw it. Greens were bad. Not sure if it was due winter or other weather conditions but a lot of the greens were in poor condition. The rest of the course looked good. Fairways and rough were nice and playable. This is generally not the case for River Run so I'm going to attribute the greens roughness due to weather and othe conditions.
Good course layout
Always enjoy playing River Run. Greens recently airiated and putts still rolled well . Pro shop pleasent and accommodating.
Friendly staff good value for the money
Liked most everything about the course. The one exception was very long walks between 10-11 and 14-15. Felt like a mile.
Most holes reachable from current White tees even for average golfers on 4s and 5s.
