River Run Golf Course
About
River Run Golf Club in Ocean City is just minutes away from the beach. The golf course has different front and back nines that make for an interesting round. This Gary Player design starts out across a wide-open landscape before moving on to more tree-lined terrain on the backside. The tighter back nine is tougher than the first nine but overall it's an approachable golf course. The player-friendly layout is gentle enough for beginners with medium-sized greens that aren't especially difficult and generous fairways that offer plenty of room. There is modest bunkering along the greens and fairways and a few lakes and some marshland come into play as well. While River Run Golf Club may not be the most formidable test, the course provides just enough of a challenge for scratch golfers.

6th "Green" Photo submitted by DrOldSchool on 08/15/2018
Probably should have played the Yellows
Decent course. Nice Fairways but greens were very unpredictable...some fast then othera slow.
Teeboxes placement were not favorable...one in front of a tree. Pace was slow. Starter should have put singles together or with doubles. HOT day too. Whites at 5600 yellow 6000ish
Always Enjoy River Run
Had not played in a while. Forgot about some really fun holes. Played early to beat the heat. Green needed to be cut and the cart path is like riding to Secret Beach in Belize. Lots of bouncing and bumps. Overall was a great morning.
Nice but nothing special
Overall the course was nice, greens were beat up and nobody seemed to fix their ball marks. The man checking me in at the proshop bordered on being rude, but ultimately took care of us. I’m. Not sure what I was expecting for $95, but it was an average overall experience for the money. I did enjoy the course layout and would go back, but I’m sure there are better deals out there.
The course advertised free driving range balls but it was closed because they were mowing. The gentleman who checked us in did not know it was closed and it is 100 feet from where he was. He was also not the most friendly person I've met at the courses i played in the area. I understand that with all of the rain it was necessary to do car-oath-only but it sure made it difficult.both time-wise and playing conditions. It was almost impossible to sand divots because the cart was so far away. Other than that, the course was in very good condition.
Course is always fun to play
Very dry in need of a good rain like everywhere else
My husband and I have always enjoyed our River Run experiences and have appreciated the serene forest borders of the fairways. We’ll continue to play there but we’re disappointed to see the excavation on numerous holes in preparation for townhouses. The meal at the clubhouse bar was exceptional and so were the crushes!
A return to River Run
We have been playing River Run for the better part of 20 years., and we always say after the round there really isn’t a bad hole at RR. This Gary Player course is a gem from #1 to #18. Challenging for the low handicaps and fun for the beginners. We will continue making a round….or 2 part of our OCMD t vacations!
Hidden Gem
Depending on the time of year you play here, determines the course conditions. But it was green and beautiful. Greens were in great shape and the layout is challenging. Played on a hot deal which made it that much better.
Nice Mid-Level course
We were able to secure an online tee time through golf now and the course was in great shape!! From the golf shop staff to Tom he starter the staff was really great. The cart girls was very friendly and quick on our drinks. The pub for an appetizer afterwards made for a great experience!!
