This is an excellent Golf & Dining facility
It was an extremely windy spring-like day which made golfing very challenging. Golf course conditions were better than most for so early in the year. Westwynd is a very hilly well bunkered course that makes straight shooting a necessity. Water & trees also come into play on many holes. The course is very interesting and scenic. Multiple tees are available for all levels of golfers. I highly recommend a visit to Westwynd for anyone with the opportunity to play it.
This course for the money is worth every penny.
Pick your tee box and have at it.If you are thinking walk in the park, think again. It gives you all the features you want with water, forced carries , blind 2nd shots and connected greens, sloped and fast. This course I've been told is the sister course of the private course wyndgate, which is private and also been told the easiest of the 2.For the money it is definitely worth it.
westwynd
nice day on course.............................................................................
Westwynd Golf Club
The course was in very good shape. There have been time when I played this course and it was not in good shape. Greens were great shape and had a good speed to them. Best hole is #10 a 600 yard par 5. Shot a 76
AWSOME LAYOUT
Great coarse but to score you would have to play a few times to see its nuances. Shots have to be played in certain areas because of hazards that cannot be seen. Distance is prime on this coarse . A shot makers paradise. And the greens hold also!! I want to play it more.
Beautiful course
Fairways are in beautiful condition. The greens are being aerated so there was a little "meatballing" of the ball. I got through in less than 3 hours with no delays. Had a 8:10 tee time. If you haven't played this course it is well worth it!
Tough Course
Played in the twilight rate time. There were no one in front of us, so we were able to play all 18 holes very quickly. The fairways and rough were in very good condition, but because it was late in the day, many bunkers were left unraked, and I had to play out of a terrible lie few times. Need to bring your A game here because if you miss hit, one of their many hazards will take your ball, and it could easily damage your scorecard. But I love the course.
Very challenging layout, however greens were full of old ball marks
Very beautiful but challenging layout, however greens were full of old ball marks. Some greens also seemed to have trouble with the grass growing properly (sparse spots). The greens were much better when I played here earlier in the summer.
Great place to really enjoy Golf.
Beautiful kept fairways and greens with water hazards and bunkers to challenge any player. The brick pave cart paths are very elegant and take you through some very scenic wood lands.
difficult and greens are in horrible condition
Westwynd is the public, sister course of the private, much better, Wyndgate. It has some great and very picturesque holes and some that are more gimmicky. More than half of the greens are now in horrible condition. Fortunately, I was able to get this course on Golf Now for $20, including cart - which was a real bargain, regardless of the greens. A real challenge for any golfer, with high slope ratings from every tee box. Worth it if you don't have to pay too much to play it.
Many carries over wetlands, difficult course
Course was in great shape, a lot of carries over wetlands.
This is a challenging course. No drinking water on the course, only soda machines that did not work. Be sure to bring you own drinking water.
good challenging course
good golfing experience--will play again--but there was 2
negatives--first course goes from hole 9 to 10 without taking
you by clubhouse second both pop machines broke on course
also only seen beverage girl twice in eighteen holes
Tough course. Not a place for runners to the green.
Bring your A game to this place. Nice course, interesting holes but also has some shortcomings. Could not find yardage markers (GAM) on several par threes. Distances to the hazards are tough to judge unless you have a range finder or prior knowledge. Greens roll true with good speed.
Late morning weekend tee time, but only saw the cart girl on #2 and not again until #14. Unfortunately, no snack stand or "turn" at theclubhouse for a chance to grab hot dog.
this is a fun course to play
the only drawback was as a single it took too long before someone invited me to play through. At firs there was a twosome and it appeared the lady had not much knowledge of the game and each load required between 12 to 15 minutes. Eventually her partner invited me to play through. Also the was a foursome and these people had no business playing from the black tees, anyway after 4 holes they decided to let me play through after which I enjoyed the rest of my round.
Good course to play during the week.
Great value during the week when you book on golf now. Greens still in rough shape from divots. Course plays long from the tips so have your driver game on point. 2 handicapper and play here when they have good weekly rates.
Most greens were in bad shape.
Tight fairways with tricky carries on several holes. Odd layout. Generally poor conditions. Not worth the money.
long, hard and difficult
greens well bunkered, tough rough, stay in the fairway and do not push yourself for that extra yardage
Love this golf course
We've played this course before and always love it.It's always in great shape.Quick greens and nice fairways.
