Ideal course to improve iron game
Have played Hampton many times and enjoyed it every time
It is a short course that rewards accuracy’ and one can play it within 2 hours.
Love the back to back par 3s - 5th and 6th hole.
Also love the tee shot from the back tee on the 8th hole as it challenges you to avoid water on the right and houses and trees on the left.
The course needs attention particularly the greens and I saw them watering it to save it on these 90 plus degree days.
Wouldn’t be bad if it had better keep up
The holes are somewhat challenging but the greens and fairway need a lot more TLC
Bad course, even for the price
The course is in awful shape, poorly maintained tee boxes, and greens. Bunkers that have had sod laid over it probably since they can’t maintain it. all of that and it surrounds apartments where there are always people walking around the course and even through it who are oblivious to golf (ie: talking loud, walking through fairways, etc)
opportunity to be good
Due to the release of Covid-19 constraints people flocked to the course both young and old. Thus, the pace of play was very slow. The layout of this course was fun and offered a couple of challenges while overall the fairways to greens were relative easy. The greens and fairways could use a lot of love. I believe things will get better as the season continues. I will be returning to play the course.
Made of good quality and great for small parts
Besides being really wet and sand pits being water hazards still one of my favorite courses to golf
Fun family course
Very inexpensive course great for mid to high handicappers or families with children. The course layout is such that even a better player will be somewhat challenged as to shot selection. No hole is longer than about 300 yards and the course does have some water as well as sand bunkers. The pace of play can be very slow for such a short course as many patrons are walking and/or not very experienced golfers. Overall nice place to practice your skills as long as you’re not in a hurry
The absolute worst course of all time
Truly awful. The course is so unkempt and the course ranger is so unprofessional. All the fairways are torn to shreds and there are sticks and geese poop everywhere, you’re much more likely to hit that than your ball. The course is littered with garbage and pace of play is terrible simply due to poor management by the course ranger. He spends more time following and intimidating people by staring at them golf super closely than doing anything else. The customer service is terrible, very rude staff. The only nice one is the manager in the clubhouse. It’s inexpensive but still way overpriced for what you get. Absolute waste of money. Go anywhere else, seriously. This may have turned me off of golfing. Don’t waste $25 on this. Go putt putting, it’ll be more fun.
Golf outing 31 May 2019
My brother & enjoyed our usual weekly round of golf at the Hampton yesterday, 31 May 2919 and found the course to be in good shape despite the soggy weather of the preceding week. We are both seniors and find the course to be just about right for us in terms of challenge and enjoyment.
Very nice 9 holes!
Slow course, great practice course! I went on a Monday and enjoyed the beautiful day, walk on the course, and hit some drives near the greens. Very nice course!
Great beginner course
Excellent pitch and putt course for beginners. Three par 3’s and six short par 4’s. You really don’t even need to pull out driver for this course, but there’s a few holes where you can if you wanted to. Greens are like velcro, which is nice for amateurs but a bit frustrating leaving so many short. Pace can be a bit of a drag sometimes, but that’s to be expected at a course like this. 5/5 for the value, great place to practice
Fun for a quick round
It’s early in the year so I didn’t expect the course to be glowing. Traps were well kept and soft though so hats always a telltale. Staff is always great and they have a rewards program. It’s the perfect place for a quick 9 after work or to take the wife.
Good course to sharpen your irons
Perfect short 9 hole course to work on your irons before real season starts.
