Extremely well maintained
This course is top notch in terms of public courses in the southern suburbs. I have played in the Fall, Summer, and the Spring and every time I have played, it has been in awesome condition. Unlimited range balls with purchase of green fees is also a plus so get there a little early to take advantage of this. very large practice green as well. Pace of play is good and is enforced as often times all tee times are booked for the day. Course is somewhat difficult for an advanced player with water on many holes. Should be considered very difficult for a beginner or someone who can not hit fairways with some consistency.
Great Condition!
This is a must play course, it's in great condition and kept up very well. It's a little expensive, but we got the fall rates and that's worth the price. Hard to complain about the price though because it's kept up so nice and just awesome views. The golf carts are the best overall I've ever seen, leather bucket like seats with a car like steering wheel. They have towel holders (which they give you 2 towels to use plus complimentary water), ball & club cleaner, and the GPS on the cart is just awesome! You can touch any point on the screen and it'll tell you how far to that point and how far you'll have left to the green! The beverage cart only came around once, so that was disappointing, but nonetheless, a must play course!
Best casino course
One of the best casino courses in Minnesota.
The course is in great shape, fast greens but well kept up.
I would have to agree with one of the reviews on here as I also have found the golf carts to be the best ones I've ever rode in, leather seats and very clean carts.
The staff in the pro shop are friendly but didn't get a good greeting when I went to pay for my round. The starter did a good job explaining the policy's of the course, but didn't start us off very well.
The beverage cart came around only once, and the shack was closed when we finished the front nine at 5pm on a Sunday. So the weather was hot that day and we could of used a refreshment.
But overall I would say this is a great place to play.
Good course, terrible management
Course was in pretty good shape. We showed up early to hit balls and warm up. We wer not allowed to tee off early even though the first tee had no one on it for 30 min. Director of golf operations there is absolutely horrible. Rest of experience was great.
Great Course, Better than Great Shape, Lotta Yards
Played Mystic Lake on a cold, frosty fall morning. I had the place to myself. Huge golf course, very long, but every inch is in fantastic shape. I was more than impressed with the conditions, lack of leaves, and overall up keep of the course. The course is challenging with fairway bunkers and plenty of water. The GPS wasn't working that day, I wasn't too concerned about it, nor did I ask the pro shop at any point, there were plenty of yardage markers in the fairway. Worth the trip, pricy unless you get a deal.
Don't forget the khakis! (although they didn't mention anything to me in jeans, then again it was 35*F)
tough but fun to play
Fairway and green plugs still not fully healed the day I played so couldn't rate as pristine but Im sure it normally is. Very interesting mix of holes, visually appealing and fun to play. I especially enjoyed the short par 4 designs. Course is demanding but fair with most of the potential trouble caused by forced carries over water. High end course w/ price to match but definitely worthwhile. A must play.
Lied to about course condition
When I made our reservation I asked if the green had been plugged. The answer was that they were plugged on September 15, but that they are now "90% back to normal". We played there today. They are nowhere near back to normal. Plus, the fairways have been plugged, and we were not advised of this, even though I had specifically asked about course condition.
I am sick and tired of course conditions being mis-represented at this time of the year by golf course personnel. We were lied to. Unacceptable.
Great Course
Great course, best golf carts anywhere! Like all the par 3's.
The course is challenging but manageable.
Enjoyed all of the statuary on the various holes as well as part of the aesthetic
Worth the $, satisfied customer. Bonus...
Got a great deal - $50 on a Saturday. Play was a little slow, but to be expected on the weekend. Would gladly be back anytime. Bonus - There are two reachable par 4's. Go get your first eagle!
Great course
Probably the nicest course I have played in the twin cities and I have played at some of the private country clubs. Great shape, tough course, but fair.
Excellent Resort Course
The Meadows offers a resort type experience close to the Twin Cities. The course is well-maintained and offers an interesting challenge for a complete range of golfers. There are some signature holes including number 3, which is a challenging par 5. Overall the experience is quite enjoyable although the beverages appear to be somewhat overpriced..
Plays as advertised
The Meadows is an excellent course capable of providing a challenging experience for all levels. The fairways are superb and soft, bunkers have the proper amount of sand and density and the greens are true and very large. Very definitely one of Minnesota's top 5 public tracks and one of the few - and perhaps only - that have not only properly located the outdoor grill/snack shop, but understand how to properly utilize it. Very well done. Upgrades could be done to the driving range, but then this is not a teaching facility it's a spectacular entertainment venue. No harm, no foul.
slow play
I liked the course the fairways could use some work fairway divots everywere, which is to bad for a nice course.Pace of play was terrible. Two somes in the 4 groups in front of us and on par 5s there were 4 or 5 groups. No ranger on site.Would it not make sence to put 2 together and also have a ranger on course
A little bit pricey but worth every penny.
My wife and I have always heard great things about this course but we never played it due to the price. But we found a deal on Golf Now for less than half of a normal round and set out for Shakopee. Once we got there the staff was very friendly and courteous. We marveled at the green and spacious course and took to the first tee. From start to finish the course was challenging yet picturesque and very fun. Yes there were some holes that we were glad to finish, but they were worth still every penny. This course is a must for any golfer. Whether you're a weekend hacker or a scratch golfer......The Meadows at Mystic Lake has something for everyone.
How a golf course should be
Well run facility. Bag drop, they loaded your clubs up on your cart, range balls included and ready for you out on the range. Good practice facility. The carts were awesome. Had everything they should have (GPS, nice seats, holders for everything, rain cover on back, club cleaner, sand for filling divots). Course was very fair and in great shape. Good layout of different types of holes. Good amount of water, sand, trees, and fescue to give great variety to the course. When we were done we were greeted by the staff and they cleaned our clubs and moved them to the bag drop. Basically this is how a course should be run. Value for the money was great. I will be returning to this course soon.
will play again
course is in excellent shape great price golf now, but regular rate is a bit steep, carts and gps were great will definitely play this challenging course again
Course is in excellent shape.
A bit over priced compared to other nice courses in the area.
Very challenging and beautifully maintained.
The course was in the best shape I've ever seen it. Fairways and greens were nicely manicured, sand in traps was soft, and the greens were in excellent shape (very fast). Beauty abounds on this course, with numerous fountains in ponds and gorgeous statues of various animals. The golf carts are deluxe with GPS. Unlimited use of the driving range is included with green fees.
