Golf cart could be much better, cleaner and in better condition.
Fairway rough
The entire golf course needs to be rolled. This would allow cutting to proper fairway length. Most fairways were at least 1/2”. In many cases it was difficult to distinguish the difference between fairways and rough.
The greens rolled evenly. This course seems to needs better irrigation. As an example, I have never played on such concrete-like tee decks, this was evidenced by the number of broken tees on every deck. I broke three tees trying to place my tee.
Charleston Pines in the Spring
As expected after 2" of rain last wee, the course was soggy in areas and I played clean and lift on most holes. Wish there had been more ball cleaners out on the course as I needed one after every hole. The greens were in good shape, though I thought running a bit slow. Pace of play I'll say was poor. I don't know if they had Monday morning leagues but it took forever. The course played as expected, but I didn't expect the slow pace.
Charleston Pines
Played here at noon on September 21st. Hadn't played the Pines since last year. Despite recent rains the rough was well maintained and greens were in very good shape and moderate speed. There were a few fairways recovering from burn out from the summer's drought but they were playable. Tough to grow grass in a drought. Should set up well for Fall gilf and next year. Staff was great. I didn't use the Snack Shack or inside bar/dining.
Good round of golf at a reasonable rate
Excellent greens However fairways need some water. Three Fairway seem to be under some type of repair but other than that the course is consistent and fair to play
