North Shore Golf Course
Played On 05/13/2018Put on my "Play More" list
Really don't know why I neglected coming back to this course for a couple of years BUT won't make that mistake again. Played twice in the last couple of months and both times course and staff were excellent. Sister course of Harmony but definitely has a distinct different feel to it. Not to say it's better as both are great but this one offers different challenges.
If you haven't played it, give a a go and you won't be disappointed. Would like the regular price to drop a bit but you get what you paid for. A classy course and my recommendation.

Played On 04/26/2018Re: Always a Challenge but also a pleasure
Something about HL that perplexes me and I know I should shoot better but it's got the better of me the last couple of times out. Still, I will continue to go and look forward to the challenge. If the price is right there are very few courses that are in better shape than this one. Great staff, usually a real good pace and an overall enjoyable experience. Look forward to returning soon and trying to solve this great course. Highly recommended
Harmony Golf Preserve
Played On 04/08/2018Can't go wrong with harmony
One of our "go to" courses when looking for a course within reasonable driving distance and last minute deals. The staff is great, especially the starters and the course is usually in good shape. Always recommend a course that you can depend on and Harmony is one of those.
Timacuan Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2018Not Far From Elite
Finally getting a chance to play some regular golf (for me, 4 rounds in 3 weeks), I've seen the gauntlet of courses. Timacuan, although not quite to the level of the elite courses, isn't far behind. Staff great, course challenging ,greens excellent. A little dry in spots but fairways were, for the most part, decent. There is some truth in the old saying " you get what you pay for" but on my modest budget I have to pick and choose when & where I can get those "gifts". Not mentioning courses I've paid low prices and got dry, numerously dry conditions where it seems management seems reluctant to invest money for improvements. I was able to treat myself to OCN where conditions were beautiful and round was enjoyable. Timacuan is just a step below but way above what you can experience in & around the area (From east coast to outskirts of Orlando) . Having not played it in a few years I am happy to say I enjoyed the total experience & will return within the next few months for another solid round of customer friendly golf. It's a great choice for those who want to play a round with great conditions at a fair price.
Sherwood Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2018Improvements Warrant More Frequent Visits
Although there were quite a few bare spots and the fairways hard in numerous spots,Sherwood continues to show improvement every time I get the chance to play there. Price is usually a bargain and the course has some interesting holes that keep your interest and demand your attention. I recommend it for the average golfer who isn't looking for plush conditions but can play a challenging course (on some holes) without busting your wallet. Friendly staff and good pace of play are what you'll find, and for the price, what more can you ask?
Sherwood Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2018Getting better every time
A few years ago you could't pay me to go back to this course. A few months ago the reviews encouraged me to give it another try and it was pretty good. Last week a Hot Deal was too good to pass up so , without hesitation, I took in another round. Friendly staff and got right out despite a full booking. Group in front were beginners who came up to me right after they teed off and told me that I could pass them right after the 1st hole. More players should have this golf etiquette! The only negative is the fairways had a lot of bare spots and were starving for water. Ground was hard in spots. I always liked the layout with the back 9 shorter but much tougher. The greens were GREAT!!! They were fast but true once you get use to them. Usually Sherwood is a great deal so I'm sure I'll make the trek again this summer for another reasonable & challenging round. Good job

Played On 07/12/2017THE MODEL of how a golf course should be RUN
New management has made this course one of the top 5 in all of the Orlando area. It won't be long before you'll have to wait for tee times and not have the luxury of fast paced rounds. Word will spread that this course has EVERYTHING and more to offer any golfer. Perfect conditions, friendly staff, tons of maintenance workers keeping the conditions second to none. I drive nearly 2 hrs. to play this course and highly recommend it to everyone. Can't wait to get some time to return. All you other golf courses take note that Ridgewood is heading to the top of the "must play" list. Great job guys!!!
Remington Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2017Fine if all you want to do is Putt
What happened? Played this course once every summer for 5 years and never seen it in the terrible shape it was in this time out. First tee box under construction and all dug up AND that was probably one of the better highlights. Fairways, or what they want to call fairways, non existent. Have very little clue where fairways end and rough begins. Can lose a dozen balls in the rough. The sand traps have tons of weeds growing and are solid rock, even with the rain. The layout was always good but with the course in this pathetic shape it's no wonder there were maybe 5 golfers out @ 10:30. The only reason I gave it any kind of rating were the shape of the greens. They were in decent shape but getting there was a joke. You won't see this customer until I see better reviews in the future.
Wedgefield Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/05/2017It's Better Than in the Past
Wedgefield will never be confused with Tranquilo or Bella Collina but if you're looking for a competitive course at a good rate it's worth the play. Greens in great shape but slow. Fairways had some rough spots which can be solved by a gentle roll of the ball. All in all, a recommendation is in order as long as you don't have high expectations

The Champion Turf Club at St. James
Played On 10/23/2016Course in Excellent Shape but.....
Second time I played this course since they installed new greens. The course was in great shape and the greens were like putting on a carpet. Our 3-some enjoyed playing the course but it was the problem in front of us that made for a very taxing day. As we arrived on the 1st tee we encountered a 6-some on the box. Naturally we thought they would split into 2 3-somes or something like that. To our surprise they went off as a large group and stayed like that through the front nine. Not once did they offer to let us play through. At the turn we met up with 1 of them, waiting for his group on the 10th. He told us if we were ready to hit through. As members of his group arrived we heard some grumbling and figured it wasn't a real popular decision. Around the 14th hole I had a ball come within 3-4" on my head without any warning or apology. The course was enjoyable but the company that we encountered made for a very stressful finish. I know times are tough but the course has to send someone (cart attendants, cashiers, refreshment workers, someone!) to check on the course every 2-3 hours. Speaking for myself, I'll be back but hopefully without the drama. You can't teach golf etiquette but common sense goes a long way.
Hunter's Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2016Don't Overplay your Yardage
Play HC years ago and made the mistake of playing the 6500 yd. tees. Even though I didn't play real well the 5900 yd. tees were enough of a challenge for me. Course is in good shape and enjoyable. There were a few real wet spots & I don't think it was from the weather. They might have over watered but rather have that than bone dry. Will try to get back there before the end of the year.
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
Played On 11/25/2015Disney Rarely Let's You Down
When you go to a Disney course you know what to expect from the clubhouse to the course conditions. I can't remember if/when I've had a major complaint when playing there. The only complaint I've had in the past is an inconsiderate golf group or two, which isn't the course's fault. Play with confidence that you have booked an enjoyable day of golf. What, you wouldn't trust a mouse?
Banyan Cay Resort & Golf
Played On 08/10/2015Still one of the Best
It took me 2 years to take the long ride south to visit the course I called "the best I've played". Since then Bella Collina has moved into my # 1 spot but the President's is a very close second. Spectacular detail to everything a golfer could ask for. Well worth the drive AND I got only my second eagle of my life, which made it more memorable. If you haven't played here make it a point to go and if you have, what's taking you so long to go back?
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 07/31/2015Trusted reviews and am now a Believer
Reviews sounded great so got the opportunity to go and play the new Champions Gate CC. From the start the staff was great and ,even though they are still in the infancy stage as far as clubhouse and parking lot, they preformed like the pros they are. The course was beautiful and both challenging & enjoyable. The only small negative was really no fault of the course. I signed up at Golf Now as a single and was given the choice when I got there if I wanted to go out as a single or join with the 3 some who had a comparable time. I was in no rush and elected to follow the 3-some as it was very early in the morning and there was little play going on that would hold me back. After awhile this group began searching for balls and I felt that I should be given the chance to go ahead of them. After a ranger came by and asked me how things were going I expressed my concern. He went ahead and talked to them & said they would let me go on the next tee. Needless to say they totally ignored this advice and I was stuck behind them for the duration of play. All in all I highly recommend CGCC and look forward to a return visit.
West Orange Country Club
Played On 07/03/2015Can't Go Wrong With West Orange
First time player @ WOCC & it won't be the last! If you're looking for a new course to play (like I always am) or someone visiting to get an idea on courses to play you won't be disappointed with this one. Not your fancy, high level resort type of course with a lot of WOW factors. It's just a solid, well kept course which offers an enjoyable round in a nice setting. I got a 11:00 time and had most of the course for myself as a single. Breezed through and had ample time to work on my game. Great price, friendly staff led to a stress free day. The only catch to possibly watch for is the lack of cement cart paths throughout the course. There are a few holes where you'll need to pay attention to layout as there are no cart paths on certain holes. No biggie as it's pretty simple to figure out. Highly recommended
Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2015Stonegate's Cypress a must play
If you've never been to Stonegate @ Solivita it would be in your best golfing interest to go. A little out of the way In Poinciana but the 2 courses there are A quality. Played Cypress yesterday and although the heat was rough the course was beautiful. Great staff and great course. Can you ask for anything more? Oh yea, a good price for a Sunday morning tee off. Go hit'em there and you won't be disappointed.
Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort
Played On 04/18/2015A Good Test Every Time
Played this course numerous times & I don't believe I've ever had a unsatisfactory round. Most of the time it's in great shape and the layout presents different challenges in accordance with the wind. Not just a rip & grip course but the mental part is probably the most fun anyhow. Recommended for an enjoyable day.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 04/04/2015Always Look Forward to Playing these Courses
It's been quite a few years since I played the Jones(it was the Champions course last time I played it). Great conditions, pace was good & clubhouse friendly. It is a little pricer than the last few course we visited but conditions are such that the cost is fine for what you get. Played the Hills course in the rain a few months ago & I do believe that the Jones is the more player friendly. Still, you can't go wrong with either so don't deprive yourself of any outstanding treat.
Deltona Club
Played On 03/28/2015Need to Be on Your Game
I wondered why the reviews and awards were so favorable so took a ride (1hr. 40 mins) and checked out the Deltona Club. At first glance it was anything but impressive (No sign out front for course name, small clubhouse, holes were tight and direction markings few, NO ballwashers on entire course) . All these things are secondary so how about the course itself? If you like a challenging course with undulations, some tight fits, nice greens, and no water( but hundreds of bunkers) this is for you. A different course with numerous ways to pick your poison. Had a great time, from the tips from the starter to a free yardage book, an excellent experience. Looking forward to returning with some other friends to indroduce them to DC
HI DJStephen,
Thank you for playing at Hunter's Creek Golf Club. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your round and the course conditions. We appreciate your feedback regarding the wet spots on the greens as this helps us make improvements for future golfers. We hope you will come back to see us for another round soon.
Best Wishes,
