First time playing this course. The course was in good shape. Greens were in good shape, fairways were in good shape and sandtraps were like most courses these days, very little sand. This course is great for beginners and seniors, not too hard. This course is in an area of retirees, to far to travel for a round of golf and the course is just right for the people in that area. I got a deal for $15. through Golfnow and that is pretty much what I would pay if I played it again. If I lived in the area it would be a nice course to play but not a course I would travel to. I would play it again if I was in the area.

Very nice course. First time playing it, is in great shape. Greens were running great, fairways were in good shape and the sand traps had sand. Got a good deal on golfnow and decided to try it, happy I did. The course is in great shape. Hole #12 was the only problem. Was a little wet and the ball plugged just off the green, took a couple of minutes to find it, found another ball as I was looking. Is a course anyone can play, not real difficult. The wildlife is abundant, deer everywhere, they act like you are not there. I will play this course again next year, highly recommend this course.

Hadn't played this course in a while. The course was in great condition. First green there were free divot tools to use, still some were not fixed, some people are just lazy or don't care. Overall the course was great, fairways were in good condition, traps actually had sand and greens were running great. Only one problem, it is fall and there are a lot of leaves and debris on the greens probably due to a little wind that came through just before we started. This is not the courses fault as this is mother nature doing her thing. The course at this time of day was not real busy so we took our time and still finished in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. Also might add that the gentleman working the restaurant was great, very friendly and was fast. This is a great course for anyone and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful course. Great scenery, well worth playing. Fairways were in great condition, sand traps for the most part were in good condition and greens had just been sanded for the winter which made putting difficult, but this I knew going in, I came to play the course for the first time. Have to say the pace of play was slow due to no carts on fairways and we did have a group ahead of us that were extremely slow. The price to play normally is out of my range but I got a great deal on golfnow, the reason I went, glad I did. If you don't mind paying 3 figures this is a great course to play. I would love to play this course when conditions are better but unfortunately it is out of my range. Will wait for another good deal in the future. I do highly recommend this course though.

Played this course for the first time, why did I wait so long? Played the Bayonet Course which is the harder of the two. The course was in fantastic condition. The fairways are as good as any green on another course, golfers are actually repairing their holes. The greens are perfect, almost all divots are being repaired I got a great deal through Golfnow for later in the afternoon but finished in 3-1/2 hours even with a foursome in front of our threesome. The views were awesome, the ocean, the deer and just the course itself, made for a great round of golf. If you go to the Monterey area to play golf make this one of your destinations, you won't be sorry. I will be back to play this course and of course Black Horse.

First time playing this course. Played with some players with course knowledge, very helpful. Course was in very good shape even with the drought. Greens were in great shape, fairways had some dry spots but we have a drought, no problem, bunkers were in good shape, better than most that I have played and the course is very easy to walk if you want to. This is a good course for beginners as it is not long or very difficult and I will play it again. Only one problem here, no water coolers on the course and it was in the 90's this day, unusual for the bay area.

Hadn't played this course in a while. Course was in very good shape considering the drought. Some very tough holes if you don't keep your ball in the fairway. A lot of left to rights and vice versa. The par threes are all very long except one, just know to play the slopes, course knowledge. The course is very pleasing to the eye along with the deer which just sit and watch you, true. The only drawback is the play can be slow at times so be prepared. I do recommend this course.

I like playing different courses. If I can get a good deal I will drive to another course if the savings pay for my gas. I got a good deal here, $25.00 walking rate. I didn't know they had carts as they just show walking rates, I should have called but this is a course you can walk. The practice facilities are nice, good putting greens and a nice driving range. It is a very nice course but there are a lot better near by for a better price. The course is not that difficult so I feel just about anyone can play this course. I stayed and had dinner which was very good. I don't like saying negative things but the waiter kind of ignored me for about 10 minutes, he was nice but needs seasoning, needs to let people know that he knows they are there and he will get to them ASAP.

One thing that really bothered me was the $9.00 for a small bucket of balls, REALLY.

I would recommend this course to a friend only if he got the deal I got. I also would play this course again but only at the price I paid $25.00 walking rate.

Have been wanting to play this course for some time. As I looking to book a tee time I read a review that the course was closing in the middle of July. I played it and was happy I did. There is something for every golfer, water, reward holes and sand traps.The course was in very good shape considering they are closing it. If you have a chance, play it won't reopen, a real shame. Also 19th hole is worth going too.

Hadn't played this course in probably 10 years. I was very impressed with the course once I started play. The fairways and bunkers were in very good shape and the greens were excellent. The pin placements were very tough because of a tournament they played this day. With the drought conditions this course is in great condition. There are a lot of bunkers and trees and so many of the fairways are right to left and left to right, need to place your shots and not try to bomb everything. A group let us play through as we were a twosome and we finished in just under 4 hours taking our time. Also I might add that I generally do not eat breakfast before I play but I did eat here and for $5.95 this breakfast beats Denny"s hands down. Everyone here, very friendly, this always makes for a good outing. Enjoyed this course and I will be back.

Have played this course a few times now. Beautiful course, lots of nice views and a pleasure to play. The only problem I saw was the sand traps, could use some sand. Greens were running fast and true, and the fairways were getting some run as well. This is a fun course with a little bit of everything, water, hazards and some blind shots. This is one of my favorite courses and I am sure most people would like it as well.

Hadn't played this course in a while. Course was in very good shape, greens were in great shape except for the idiots that don't take the 5 seconds to repair their divots, just a pet peeve of mine. Sand traps and fairways were in good shape also. With all the mature Oak Trees you have to keep your drives straight and away from the trees in order to score well. This being said I enjoyed the course and will be back.

Played this course for the first time, very fun course. Lots of traps, some water and some places you need to carry. For not knowing the course I played very well. One problem, a couple of groups met up to form a 5-some and didn't let me play through. I informed the club house later about this as there wasn't a marshall out patrolling the area. I met up with another single and he said a couple of them were regulars. I will play this course again.

First time playing this course. Played with my son who has played it on a few occasions and it was my birthday. Played the round of my life. The course was in beautiful shape, fairways were the best I have seen in some time, greens were fast and true, tee boxes were in great shape but bunkers could use a little work. Got to work on my short game because of all the par threes which I really enjoyed. The greens also had some great undulations, could use the side hills to get a bounce down on the greens, liked this part. The views were great, the food was excellent and the people on the course were very nice. To put it best, I will play this course again.

Just a downright beautiful course. Great views, wildlife and great golf. Narrow fairways, blind shots, lots of bunkers and water, not for a beginner. If you haven't played this course before play the forward tees. Have wanted to play this course for years but was too expensive. Got a great deal on Golfnow so played it. Played with 3 other singles and it turned out great. Two had played the course before and it helped out greatly. We were not pushed but one of the gentlemen that had played before was really slow. If you have ever come across 37 from Vallejo to Navato you see the course on the south side near Black Point. The fairways you see coming downhill are the ones you play uphill, very difficult. The starter gave us a lot of great info which also helped. The course was in great shape, the greens were very fast with difficult pin placements. The average golfer will use most of his clubs on this course. One thing about this course is it makes you think about every shot which is why I will play it again.

This is a nice 9 hole par 3 course. Great for beginners and players who want to just play a quick 9 holes and go home. You only use a few clubs and like I said it is great for people just starting to play golf. Has a little bit of water and a few traps, nothing hard. Greens were in great shape, pretty fast and a little hard to read for me, I don't know why but they were. Fun little course that I will probably play again.

Hadn't played this course probably in 10 years. Remembered a couple of the holes but that didn't help. Hard to find yardage markers was the only problem, (going to get a GPS unit soon), as the course was in very good condition. Greens were excellent, sand traps could use a little more sand and the fairways were very good, just a few wet spots. Has a little bit of everything, water, sand traps, drop off areas and blind shots. Had two holes that we had to look at the scorecard to see where it went. A course that is worth playing for anyone. We picked a perfect day to play, New Years Day, no one out there and the weather was cold for the first few holes and the sun came out and we had the course to ourselves, almost. Like the course and will play it again.

Very nice course. The course was in very good shape. I have played here once before and remembered a few of the holes, still very difficult to play. Bunkers could use more sand, fairways and greens were in great condition. Course is not for those just starting, will eat you alive. Course will test you right up to the end. Try and play with someone who has played the course before as there are places to layup, some blind shots etc. Love the course and will play it again.

Always wanted to play this course and finally saw a very good deal on golfnow for $15.00, just had to make the drive. I am glad I did because the weather was beautiful, just a couple of people on the course in the late afternoon, pretty much had the course to myself. The greens had been aerated but they were in good shape, just a little hard to get used to speed wise. The fairways were also being plugged and raked, most had been raked already so you did get a good roll. The golf course was beautiful and very well maintained. All the work was being done on the course to get ready for winter as the course will close this weekend or before if it rains and snows in the next day or two. Very tough course but I enjoyed the course as well as the beauty and the wildlife. I don't see anyone being disappointed in this course and I personally will play it again. If you like playing different courses this would be one to play.

Very nice course. Played this course a few months ago for the first time, it was just as hard this time. Yardage is not long but you have to know where to put your ball, course knowledge. Lots of traps, some water, makes this course difficult. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape, sand traps could use a little more sand but they are OK. You might want to play this course with someone that has knowledge, has played it before more than once. We hooked up with another twosome that had played here quite a few times, helped us quite a bit. The course does have signs on some holes letting you know what is ahead, so many yards to the water or end of fairway, I like that. Great course, will play it again.
