An average course, some good points, some not.

First time playing here in over 20 years, so it's practically new to me. The holes are still close together, paralleling each other. We were an early morning tee time so we didn't have players in our fairways but I'm sure on busy days there's quite a bit of that.
Greens were in good shape, Bunkers aren't well maintained, and the tee boxes are way too small. You end up teeing up where it's all dug up, or we just tee it up elsewhere. Fairways were ok as well.
The layout is not too bad for being tight. Up Hills, down, doglegs, so from that perspective it was a pretty enjoyable round.
The outdoors grill was open in October, which was nice. The counter help was welcoming, but the starter was like a grumpy drill sergeant even though it wasn't busy. So that's why we knocked it down. I was there before he arrived and was using the putting green waiting for my partner and he yelled at me. I chuckled but it was rude. Dude needs to get a life.
so It's not a bad course, and an interesting enough layout. It won't dazzle you, there aren't beautiful views or anything notable, but it's one I'd play if my friends wanted to. I wouldn't choose it on my own as there are many other really good options in this area for the same or better price.

Good variety of course layout

I played a late Saturday afternoon round with good weather. Course wasn't busy and played alone most of the round. It was my second time at the course. I wanted to see if I enjoyed it more knowing the layout better.

Course conditions were average. Nothing to complain about, nor get excited about. The greens were slow and needed locals to do a better job fixing their divots. The sand was nicely raked, an indicator to me whether the club cares for the course and visited the beach twice this day. I've not played here often even though close to my home, mostly because it is a busy course (one of two they have here) and hard to get tee times sometimes.

The course was a good mix of open and woods, straight and dogwoods in both directions. Some required placing shots, others you could let if go. The course isn't very hilly, but does move with the landscape. What's odd for me is that I like holes that vary which this one has, but both times I played I came away feeling ho-hum about the round and I can't put my finger on why.

Staff was friendly and accommodating, and the locals I saw hanging around the club house this visit and my first seemed to really be enjoying themselves. The club house isn't large, but has room to hang out and watch TV or eat some grub. I didn't do either.

So overall it was a nice day of golf. Nice enough course. It doesn't stand out in my mind, but it is a fairly good course overall. Worth trying out.

Well maintained, friendly staff, great value

I was vacationing in the area and chose to play here after reading good reviews in golf advisor. It was a good choice.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. I stopped by the day prior to ensure I could find it and found the people I spoke with that day and the next all customer focused. They earnestly wanted you to be comfortable.

Since they bought the course in 2012 you can tell they are spending all spare money on course upkeep and the temporary buildings are clean and functional. If they build a new clubhouse with dining facilities, I'd definately seek it out given the previous comments about their customer service.

The greens were wonderful. They all rolled the same speed from practice green through number 18. They were a bit fast but I'm fine with that when they run consistent. I chose to roll some shots onto the green when I felt holding long shots may not work.

The fairways were cut low and in good shape. The tee boxes were in perfect shape. I played the blue's which required walks up to the elevated tees, giving you really sweet views of the hole and surrounding trees.

All the holes stood on their own, meaning no fairways came together and no dodging balls from other players. Of course it is a mountain course and the trees make it nearly impossible to do that and the fact that the course was hardly busy. I like assessing each hole by itself and not seeing others as often as I would on other courses,

The costs are less than many others on the area. Driving range was good.

They handed me a course guide so I could read up on each hole, which was nice to have before teeing it up. Helped me decide on clubs and avoid obvious things.

My GPS doesn't pick up the new name, but the staff told me to use the old name which worked. I will get the name wrong but it starts with a T.

The other thing I liked was their focus on beautiful water control, for lack of a better word. On a mountain course there run off and other notable issues for mountain courses. They used rocks to frame and support the areas making it attractive but also easy to see to you don't accidentally roll a long shot into an overgrown mess you can't hit out of.

The only area needing a recommendation is the rough. It was splotchy on some holes, but it is a mountain course and it wasn't on all holes.

You should give the course a try. I'll go again...

Basic course for beginners, seniors, novices

There's not many options for good golf courses in this area, many being for average play on average courses. This one is short, but it's not a bad little course overall. The fairways aren't well defined because of lack of trees and low rough. Greens were in pretty good shape. Bunkers were again, average but not in horrible shape. As long as you visit with the idea of a good practice round and nothing notable as far as design, challenge or pretty venues, you'll be fine.
Having said that, it is actually in good shape compared to some others I've played there. I have relatives in the area so I play when visiting sometimes. You could do worse.
The only part I thought odd was calling this a links course. It has few trees, but no wind swept areas, no mounds of fescue, etc. It is open if you like or need that.

Wonderfully maintained, great views

This course was impeccably maintained with views from the high location making my round relaxing and enjoyable. There was wind due to the high elevation over the valley below, but who cares when it's so nice. The course layout isn't super tough but if you ball ends up in the rough you'll lose yardage as there's no roll, just as it should be. Traps were soft and not hard panned. The only negative is there's two back to cal par 5's and 3's which was unusual, and the last few holes were around new housing. (I dislike driving on roads to get to holes. I drove from the Seattle area to play here while the ladies visited Levenworth and worth the drive.

Poorly maintained, easy short course

The conditions of this course was the worst I've ever played. The drought had the Seattle area courses stressed, but there appeared to be no attempt to keep it healthy. Many Tee boxes were without any grass anywhere. Undergrowth outside fairways was solid blackberry bushes and such. Fairways were in bad shape but that is normal here this year. Course is short and mimics more pricey courses that are built in and around homes. Many are too close for beginners. Nothing notably positive unless you are a senior just wanting a short local course to play with a nice clubhouse.

Nice hole variety, elevation changes.

Lots of trees and challenging elevation changes. Required shot making on some holes to avoid thick trees on dog legs. Areas outside fairway was kept up better than some others I played in this area which often have impossible undergrowth. Staff was friendly, but the drought had the fairways burned out which was normal this year in the Seattle area. Greens were kept up, but the fairway boxes were not. I still enjoyed my round and would play it again. I don't know how the course conditions are under normal weather years but I thought it was one of the better mountain style courses I've played.

Well maintained, good views, sweet golf course

It's a really good golf course. Not the toughest, as the slope indicates, but very well maintained. The most consistent greens I've played in 18 months. Good variety of holes and lengths, and tees and fairways all in good shape. Five sets of tees to pick your course length. A few water holes, more for aesthetics, and didn't dominate the holes. It had rained heavily the day prior and the crew was out draining the traps, but of course some weren't yet cleared of water but that was expected.

Nicely done all around. Club house was real good. One of the nicest courses in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Somewhat short and tight, well maintained.

It was a generally good course. Too short for my preferences but it made me pick clubs to land shots due to that and the tightness of the fairways. Was in good shape. Fairly flat. Better than the usual beginner course but not one I'd habitually visit. If not a long hitter or able to deal with elevation changes you'd like it here.

Very enjoyable to play.

I first played this course in late 2014. I played it twice more this year. I really enjoy this course. The holes are a good challenge with a real good mix of layouts and variety. It's very well maintained. I like to visit a variety of courses but this is easily in my top five. I have to resist my urge to play it more often so I can keep finding more gems like this one. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful classic course

This course was in top shape and a real treat of an old course. Not a long course, lots of mature trees, some elevation changes to keep it interesting. Greens ran true and consistently. Staff was all friendly. I really enjoyed this course and will be back. You will enjoy it.

Boring layout, killer greens

The title tells you everything. Other than the holes near the road the holes are straight, straight, and then more straight. Followed by some of the best trapped greens I've seen around, with hard fast greens. So you mentally get bored hitting similar tee and approach shots, followed by needing to set your approach shots with an uphill lie because the greens are a killer. If in the traps they are raked well and you need to get them close to score well. Part of the game is entertaining the eyes to figure out the shots needed and the whole round was only about putting. I don't think they had food, not sure. They need to cut some trees or plant some flower beds. Something...

A good mental exercise, shot making needed.

Some wonderful hole designs that challenge you to know and pick your shots. Really nice views of the mountains and the course itself. Overall a really good challenge and well kept course, great value.

Negatives: slow play because it is a tougher course. The rough was high and I struggled with it for some reason. Some holes will spank you if you get in the wrong spot, which I did and tripled 2 holes.

The golf cart GPS is the best I've seen, but I'd bought myself a Garmin that had one feature that saved me many shots, their "plays like" feature that provides distances based on elevation changes.

Good practice greens.

Worth playing a few times. Hoping my next trip will be less learning and more scoring. Make the trip and enjoy thinking your way thru.

Many notable improvements

I recently blocked the game back up, seriously with lessons and regular play. I returned to this unique course with an airport running thru it (small aircraft) and am very pleased at the changes. Several holes were modified by removing nuisance trees, and number three lengthened into an interesting par five. They added water throughout the course to beat back the summer drying of the fairways. They are trying to improve it and making good progress.

From a golfing perspective, the price can't be beat and it seems most don't know the course exists. I've gone by as a single several times his year and never waited and played two afternoon rounds by myself. Greens are a bit slow, but I enjoy the variety of the holes. Hills, some water but not where it it a big problem, both short and long holes. Just an interesting round.

They don't have a range, having found no one paid for the indoor one they needed the conference space income, the biggest drawback is the lack of food. It's functional but if you want more than a Brian grill provides you can hit the Irish pub down the street in Bally.

Overall good average course with interesting holes.

Not great, not horrible

I was traveling thru the area so I looked up a course to try. Greens and fairways were in generally good shape. It was hilly with a lot of variety, but I didn't really like it much. Everyone was friendly, bar was nicely staffed and good service. The course just didn't entertain my interests. Some holes weren't clearly marked, and although the holes were fine individually, it was an odd mix. It didn't flow for me and when I enjoy myself, I want to keep playing. For this day and course, I was totally fine to hit the road.
