Vintner's Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2017Nice 9 hole course
Course was in good shape except for the greens, lots of people are not fixing their ball marks and so there are lots of them on the greens. The rest of the course was in great shape, but needed to be mowed soon.
Mare Island Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2017good challenging course
Course was in good shape, except for the sand traps. After this very wet winter they haven't had time to get a new load of sand in them. They play like hard ground right now.
Diablo Creek Golf Course
Played On 01/31/2017Long course with some water hazards
Course was in great shape considering all the rain we have had this winter. Cart path only so pace of play was a little slower than normal. This course is long and if you don't hit your drives over 200 yards most of the par 4's will take 3 shots to get on. Still fun to play and the green are very good and fast. All fairways have been mowed and are drying out well.
Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery
Played On 08/23/2016Goof Course with a different layout than many
First time playing this course and it was somewhat demanding and required some shots to land in specific areas for scoring. Nice elevation changes with water hazards on a few holes. Back nine seemed harder than the front, but it had some great views. Would play this course more often if it was closer to where we live, so will probably only get there once or twice per year.
Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park
Played On 07/05/2016Course uses the natural features to best advantage
With water along side a good portion of the holes you have to pay attention to where you land you ball to score well.
San Geronimo Golf Club
Played On 02/02/2016Slow play because of cart path only
Took over 5 hours to play since it was cart path only so lots of walking involved. Additionally it hadn't been mowed recently so finding balls was hard if you were not in the middle of the fairway. Great play to play when the carts are able to get off the paths.
The Metropolitan Golf Links
Played On 09/08/2015Good course for a hot day, right next to the bay
Mostly flat course with wide fairways with on meandering creek that cuts through several holes. This is a links style course so no trees ever come into play except willows allow the meandering creek.
Eighteen Hole at Green Tree Golf Club
Played On 01/02/2015Flat course with a good layout
Course has healed well from heavy rain in December, greens were fast and soft. Carts were at 90 degrees and fairways were all mowed and in good shape. Moderately hard course with some holes that will challenge a good player.
Lone Tree Golf Course
Played On 12/30/2014real windy day but course was in good shape
Carts were allowed off path and most of the area had been mowed recently. The wind was a steady 12 mph with gust much higher so playing conditions were not the best but still an enjoyable day. Temperatures were in the low 50's so you had to bundle up, but the sun was out.
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2014Good test of golfing abilities
Bring some extra balls as it is easy to lose some where water is adjacent to the holes. Course is harder than you might expect from looking at the score card.
Bennett Valley Golf Course
Played On 10/30/2014Good local course
Course is run by the city and rates are reasonable. Some slope on parts of the course but for the most part the slope is limited but every fairway is tree lined and you need to stay in the fairway to score well. Twilight rates start fairly early but that is needed as it can easy take 5 hours to make a round on this course.
Sunridge Golf Club
Played On 09/20/2014Narrow fairways and water
Course is laid out with very few holes beside each other so accurate shots are needed on lots of the holes. Very good use of slopes on the course.
DarkHorse Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2014beautifully lined out course in the oak woodlands
Course has lots of different kinds of layouts with some steep slope segments. Fun to play and if it were closer to home I would play it more often.
Chardonnay Golf Club
Played On 08/18/2014Course is long and demands long drives
Good challenging course where you need fairway woods for most of your second shots
San Ramon Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2014Not much elevation change but good use of area
Holes are laid out well and requires fairly straight shots on some of the holes. The 9th green is an island green and requires a shot that lands and doesn't roll very much or else your ball will end up in the water.
The rest of the course is fun to play and works well for a social outing.
Peacock Gap Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2014Good course in a neat setting
Course has little elevation change but makes good use of creeks and other water features to make the course challenging. If there is wind it is even more challenging. We played starting at 2:30 pm and really had most of the course to ourselves. One group in front of us by a couple of holes and no one behind use for at least 3 holes. Weather was about 73 degrees under clear skies.
Adobe Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/13/2014Good Local course
Course was in good shape and played in 4 hours with several groups of 4 ahead of us. Rough need some mowing but that was scheduled for Wednesday. Bunkers have lots of small rocks in them and need some upkeep.
Sugarloaf Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2014Good Executive Length course
Course was cart path only, due to rain the day before so there were several wet areas on the course, but it still played well. Lots of chances to use your driver, and then a short iron, fun course to play.
Valley of the Moon Golf Club
Played On 01/14/2014Good course for practicing straight shots and putting
Course is generally flat with not too many challenges other than trees, but makes up for it with fast greens that have a lot of different slopes on them. Not many flat spots on the greens so it makes it a good test of your putting.,
Monarch Bay Golf Club - Tony Lema Course
Played On 12/16/2013Good links type course
Weather was great and the course was generally in good shape, some damage from the frost a couple of weeks ago on the fairways. Most holes are on the long side and you need to hit your drives over 200 yards to have a good chance at par on most holes. As with all links courses there were lots of bunkers around the greens.
One unique feature of this course is that several red foxes are present on the course and will sample your food if you leave it out on the cart while putting.
Thank you for taking the time to review the experience. We've only gotten better since you played last. We hope you can come back to see the improvements. I'm sure you'll agree that our conditions are second to none. Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
