About
Variety is the spice of life. I enjoy playing new courses and exploring what they have to offer. To date I've played 544 different courses, from Pebble Beach to St. Andrews. I have also played every public course in New Jersey and many in the surrounding states. I'm always looking for somewhere new to play. @aol.com

Lely Resort Golf & Country Club - Mustang Course
Played On 12/05/2017Scotland Run Golf Club
Played On 11/27/2017One of...
...NJ's best public course. If you haven't, you should. We were the only foursome on the course and it still took 4.5 hrs, Its just a BIG course. Plenty of exciting holes with great green complexes. My favorite hole of many was the the 16th, short par 4, with a forced carry over the sand quarry.

A good challenge. Conditions were good throughout.
I really enjoyed the green complexes which created some interesting putts.
Village Club of Sands Point
Played On 11/06/2017I could play...
...here every day. Some courses are just fun, this is one of them. Conditions were excellent and the greens were quick. Local knowledge would help.
Favorite holes, #13, par 4, with a blind tee shot, and the greens back drop is the Hempstead Bay. And #14, par 3 150 yds all carry, very scenic. Played in an MGA Member Day.
Galloping Hill Golf Course
Played On 11/02/2017Test your game!
Galloping Hill is an apt name. Tees and greens are mostly elevated over this rolling terrain. Seems like your always hitting uphill to these greens, requiring extra club
Rutgers University Golf Course

...day at Rutgers. Course is in great shape .The greens are smooth and quick. Finished in 3.5 hrs.
Oak Golf Course at Wedgewood Golf Club

Fun course in good condition. Greens were trickier than I remember.
Championship at Rockland Lake Golf Course
Played On 10/17/2017Executive Course
All par 3's, but very challenging. It is not an easy walk as it is very hilly. Tee boxes are mats that are surrounded by waist high, brick walls, very unusual. Yardages range from 110 to 212, and I would say they are not accurate. The greens have subtle breaks and are a bit on the slow side. You must hit the greens or be close, because the rest of the course is in terrible condition. It is certainly unique!
A flaw with this website is when there are 2 courses in the same location, the reviews do not necessarily depict the correct course.
Deal Golf & Country Club

Great course. Conditions were excellent throughout with some exciting greens. Favorite hole s were #6 200yd par 3, up hill, between two huge mounds and #15, a monster par 4 (425 yds) with approach across a creek with green fronted by pond on the left.
Skyway Golf Course at Lincoln Park West
Played On 10/13/2017Way too expensive...
...for out of county. $49 to ride 9 holes as a senior? And that's probably why the pace of play was good, not many golfers.
Otherwise a very good golf course. It's difficult from off the fairway, so keep in straight. Greens are excellent.
Pehquenakonck Country Club
Played On 10/04/2017Different!
I can't imagine how they thought this terrain was suitable for golf. Short and quick, as not many golfers. I finished 9 holes in an hour and 20 min. First hole is a 182 yard par 4 dogleg right with a tree directly in front of the green. I kept looking around to see if it was the right green. The 4th hole was a par 3 straight uphill with trees and bushes in the way to a tiny green with no bailout. Its hilly and would not be an easy walk. I would recommend this course, but only once so you can be amazed too.
Westchester Hills Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2017MGA
I played this course with the Metropolitan Golf Association, in a "Members Play Day". Excellent conditions throughout. The course plays longer than it seems. Some very nice holes with a couple of blind shots and water. The shortest par 3 was 165 yds.
Princeton Country Club

...twenty plus years since I played here last. I enjoyed it.
Conditions were good, tees, fairways and greens. Off the fairway it was hard-pan and the ball ran forever.
Very tight, tree-lined fairways. Only criticism, who ever changes the holes does a terrible job, The 13th green I saw 5 previous holes as with many other greens.
Mercer Oaks Golf Course - West Course
Played On 09/27/2017West
It's been a quite a few years since I played here. It won't be next time. This is a fun, good condition course with interesting green complexes. Favorites were #9, par 4 with approach over the pond. And #17, long par 4 with lake fronting the right side. A real risk reward approach shot.
Great Gorge Golf Club - Lake/Quarry Course
Played On 09/22/2017Lake/Rail
I just don't remember this course being that difficult.
Great George Fazio layout. Greens were quick but a little bumpy.
West at Tamarack Golf Course
Played On 09/21/2017The West
I have not played here in many years because of the condition of the course. But, it is in much better shape now. Greens were good, but not too fast. Some crabgrass off the fairways. It seems to be improving. The west is very challenging, you must be long and straight.
Millburn Municipal Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2017Great place....
...for kids and beginners. Short par 3 course which was relatively flat and easy to walk. Greens were in good shape. Must be a town resident or guest of.
Spring Brook Country Club
Played On 09/18/2017Members Golf Day
I was able to play this course through an NJSGA event.
Very enjoyable, and sneaky long. Conditions were excellent throughout. And some very exciting par 3's with all carry over pond.
Garrison Golf Club
Played On 09/11/2017Serious Challenge
This course will test your game. You must be long and straight. And then you get to the greens and they are tough to read. This is a must play for all masochists.
Beautiful views. Front 9 is all up and down. The back 9 is a little flatter, but then there is water in play on several holes.
Riverview Country Club

...or so for aeration holes to heal. But it was $33 to ride, which was a discount for aeration. The players there are not good on raking traps or fixing ball marks.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your latest trip to the course. We have a lot of golfers that enjoy the layout of our course and it seems that did not happen in this case. Thanks again and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.
