Great Views and Scenery’
I’ve been here a few times! Definitely would recommend. Didn’t loose too many balls. It’s really challenging on a windy day.
There were dead palm fronds land everywhere which made it impossible to find your ball off the fairway.
Brucer 3
We always have a good time playing at this course. However, they are fighting a large gopher or ground squirrel population which is directly impacting both the fairways and several greens.
Once Nice
The history of this resort and course goes back to Spring Training and the SF Giants. The course was part of their training home base. The old pictures look great and I’m sure the course was very nice back when Hollywood celebrities visited and played.
Now however, the course has been allowed to deteriorate with very spotty watering, tens of thousands of gopher holes destroying large parts of the course and no one around who seemed to be assuring a reasonable pace of play. As a result, we teed off at 10:15 and finished at 3:20.
Outside services didn’t so much as speak a word when we came in and never even approached us to clean clubs. Amazing!
There is potential here for a course that would be fun but ownership has let it go to the point where it hardly resembles the course it once was. It’s a shame.
Needs a little TLC
The scenery is beautiful on this course with mature trees. Greens are slow with some patchy spots. Fairways were in good condition. Tee boxes were a little hard packed.
Overall was okay for the price we paid and considering the cost of other courses in this area.
Course management by Ranger
I advise the Ranger whoever was involved or in charge of that situation. Look at times of teetimes before approaching and accusing groups for being slow play. we are advanced players and we know how to play the game. I was playing there for two weeks now first time there it was a five hour round. Nothing was said to any of the groups that I was aware of at that time. We played the second time there, and played our round in four hours tops so I advise the staff to get their facts straight before they accuse any groups of being slow. Thank you.
Good value. Course in decent shape
We enjoyed a couple of rounds here. Good value and friendly staff.
