Fantastic
Fantastic greens, friendly crew and new golf carts with range finders built in.
Sandy Bumpy greens
Almost a perfect day other then the greens not being rolling very well due to plugging and sanding the greens recently. Couldn't hit a putt on the line I was seeing due to rocks or sand affecting the path the ball would travel, causing ball to go left or right or slowing the ball down. Wouldn't of been a big issue for me had it been known prior to playing round or even prior to making a tee time.
Beautiful
Beautiful course. Hope you can keep it on the fairway!
Best of Central Oregon!
Crosswater is a must play if you are in Central Oregon.. it showcases the deschutes river and my Bachelor. One of my favorites in the Northwest.
Great Family Friendly Par 3 Course
Caldera Links is a great par 3 course at Sunriver Resort. We had the chance to play it during the Pacific Amateur Golf Classic this past week. It is all par 3's, with bent grass greens and contoured greens, with different levels. Tees can be anywhere from 85 yards to a couple at 175 from the back. Tons of fun with the family or with the "boys" for a little skins game after a round at one of the other 3 courses at the Resort.
Central Oregon Golf at it's Best
Crosswater is the quintessential Central Oregon golf course -- Snow capped mountains, pure bent grass greens, fairways with bluegrass rough and fescues -- all in perfect shape., pine trees, an awesome river running through it... such a perfect setting for a great day of golf we had! There are several forced carries over the Little Deschutes River, so highly recommend you play the "right" tees. Design of the course is great, allowing for some bump and run shots, with large green complexes. a MUST play!!
Crosswater
Crosswater course is fantastic. Very challenging, yet gettible course. Front 9; better warm up at their fantastic facility, because 1,2, and 3 are not impossible to birdie.
Be ready for 4,5, and 6, because a poor shot can immediately lead to a double..
The 8th is over water, the second shot better be crisp, and 9 is lined by a river that at times is magnetized. If you play the proper tees,, it is an exhilarating front 9.
The back 9 is as awesome, 10 is over Oregon gunk, and is similar to the 8th, but a much larger, but split level green. Be ready for 12, it is driver, 3 wood, 3 weed, (i am joking but it is long) and has a pond lining the left hand side of the very narror and the entire 600 yards.
13,14, 15, are gettible, and be ready for 16-18. The 16th is a 3 shot to the green par 5, and the elevated green, that slants all down hill after the false front is like keeping your wedge on a glass table. 17 is a long par 3, and 18 is an over the river par 4. The 18th is very narrow if you want your second to be shorter, and it's over a river to the green. The bunkers are always in great shape, the greens are very fair. If you play the course just prior or just after one of their many tournaments (call prior) the greens are quick, but very smooth. My only negative, is due to the large resort setting, and lots of holes where you need to cross water, and lots of hazard, the pace of play can be very very very slow. That in addition to lots playing the incorrect tees, although the views are epic, the pace of play can be frustrating, for the money spent to play and travel. Otherwise, very friendly staff, great practice area, and the weather is always cooperating.
Disappointed
First time to Bend, OR -- of the 3 courses we played Pronghorn, Wish Creek, Sunriver (Meadows) came in #3.
Great Course
The course was in great shape. Every hole had some unique feature that added to the course appeal. The staff was great. Wish I played better, but even my play didn't detract from the day.
Absolutely Beautiful course !
This course will become your benchmark for comparison once you've played it! Tough but fair, with spectacular scenery and wildlife. Friendly members and great clubhouse for a bite to eat or to have a drink. Highly recommend.
MUST PLAY in the Area Fantastic RTJ Jr Course
Sunriver offers 3 Golf Courses. I only played Woodlands and it was an amazing course.
Challenging course for even top level golfers
You must play this course if in the area
Great conditions Tee to Green.
Layout is very interesting, never see a similar look through all 18 holes.
Hazards are abundant but RTJ Jr does give you a safe option to protect your score.
It's a golf course not a country club.
Go for the golf!
People were terrific in the Pro Shop and on the course.
Sunriver Woodlands
My husband and I got paired with another qouple that was local. We had a great time with them. The golf course was challenging but not over the top. We really enjoyed the course!
The rates are super high for non resident.
I would suggest more deals to play courses in Sunriver.
This was a delightful course. It was in great condition despite very high temperatures. I very much enjoyed myself.
Traps are tough!
A flat Course with wide fairways but lots of tough sand traps. Beautiful but sort of frustrating course.
The course was in great condition and I had a wonderful time. My only complaint was I felt the 10$ charge for a bag of range balls was a little steep.
