Beautiful in the Hills
Average to above conditions. Some areas under repair good to see. They were mowing the day we played.
Greens in good shape. Only a couple had some problem areas.
Sand traps had been maintained.
Tee boxes were small.
Very challenging elevation changes on the holes in the Hills. The finishing holes are long and the creek always seems to get in the way.
Staff upset that we used golf now. Course is on mountain side so even considering this there were so many ruts through the fairway that it is almost unplayable. We were about to give up the because we were jostled about so
much. Two yards left or right of the fairway results in a lost ball. On the other side of the mountain we played a very nice course for half the money. So I say stay away.
Nice little course
Nice little course. Don’t let the fact it’s only a 9 hole course fool you. A few holes offer all the challenge you may want. A very wet spring and early summer have caused a few challenges but all in all, a very relaxing round.
Best Course In Wyoming
Get here and play. It is impossible to represent the beauty of this course through words.
One of the nicest courses in the hills holes with the beauty of the hills.. this is a must play.. s
Beautiful Course. if u r looking a for golf course with challenging holes with the beauty of the hills.. this is a must play.. staff is very friendly grill onsite.. always a great day when u play..
Great Location
Golf Peo / Manager rude, not friendly. Felt like he was under stress
Bartender (previous manager) very friendly
We would have stayed and spent another $30-50 for lunch & beverages had the Manager not been unfriendly.
Fun Course
Greens are in poor condition and fairways are so bumpy it's hard to find a level lie.
Beautiful, challenging forest course
This course is a fun challenge. You don't have to hit a long ball as much as you need to hit a straight ball. I golfed a few days after a hail storm damaged the greens and the crew did a great job getting the greens repaired.
Spectacular Golf course
This course is a private course so it can be tough to get on. Fortunately for me I know a member and have played here a few times. This course has some really amazing golf holes. There is dramatic elevation changes on numerous holes and I dont think there is a boring hole on the course. My personal favorite is the Par 3 on the back where you are forced to hit your tee shot over a canyon that drops 100+ feet down. This hole features an amazing view of Devils Tower National Monument as well bunkers built into the cliff side. It really is overwhelmingly beautiful as is most of the rest of the course including the extremely elevated tee shot on 18. The conditions are nothing short of perfect and your round will trek you through pine trees and the hidden hills of Wyoming. This course is truly a gem and deserves far more recognition than it gets. If you ever get a chance to play it please do not hesitate, pay whatever the price because it is worth it.
Great Course
This was the first time we have played Tomahawk. The fairways are fairly wide and quite "rolly". Fairways did not provide much roll due to the rainstorm that came through the day before. Some standing water also. The roughs are natural terrain. Greens were challenging with few being totally level. Some very small streams cut through the fairways. Beautiful scenery in the Black Hills. We will definitely play this course again.
Wet, but fun!
We played this course following torrential rains the day before. Course was sopping wet, but still fun. Staff could not have been nice and they have a bar/snack bar with friendly service ers.
Love this course!!
Purchased a "Hot Deal" on Golf Now app ($15 + fees).
I had an absolute blast. Course was challenging, but I enjoyed the difficulty level.
Playing in a mountain setting was new for me. The course is very narrow in spots. Accuracy is an absolute must here (7th fairway.....nasty!)
Course was in great shape. Greens a little slow and bumpy, but mountain climate makes it impossible to have perfect greens. Rest of course more than made up for greens.
Hoping to make it back to Deadwood sometime soon to play it again. I highly recommend it.
