excellent course and extremally well kept some of the water hazards can be decieving for a high handicapper but will try again
Super course
Hard to believe this course is only 20 years old. The beautiful Blackwater river winds through the course and the ancient trees provide a magnificent background to a stunning course layout.
Great condition
One of the best parkland courses in Ireland...well worth a visit..
Excellent layout
Course was well laid out with lovely mature majestic rees and good fairways. Holes were very varied and course provided a good but fair test of golf. One critics was that the greens were on the slow side. Staff were very pleasant and restaurant was good.
Golf at Headford
As on previous visits - the pro shop manager was neither friendly or helpful
Worth it
Course is a very mature parkland, beautiful setting. Little bit up and back but some lovely holes, deceptively tough. Need to be able to hit straight. Big letdown were the greens, very poor condition, even the pro admitted they were in bad nick. We got it on a Golfnow deal so was well worth the money y, pity about the greens. Would recommend it but not at full price
Stunning golf course
Magnificent course. Up there with the best kept I have ever played, the greens were stunning and rolled magnificently. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape and the rough not too penal. Stunning on the eye with a good range of holes, some challenging holes with water and doglegs then a few more straight forward holes where you can catch your breath. The maturity of flora and fauna surrounding the course make it just stunning. If have paid the green fee just to walk the place. Don't think I will ever in my life play a better course, let alone for €21 on the mega deal. Unbelievable. A must play if you enjoy parkland courses.
Picturesque course
Great course, friendly staff. Second time playing the new course. Windy conditions made for a trickier and more tiring day. Greens seemed a little slow compared to last time, but overall the course was in great nick, with plenty of work being done by the greenkeepers.
Review
Very nice course with lots of nice scenery. Although the greens were a bit bumpy in places, Headfort is exceptional value for money. Moreover, the atmosphere was extremely friendly and the restaurant is great. Will be back again to play both courses.
