Worth the drive from Cleveland
For this time of year the Course played better then a lot of Courses in med season. I will be back to played again this season love the course.
Horribly managed
So I got this course on Golf now for $15 for 18 holes. First off it was tough to find because it’s way out in the sticks and second off it’s horribly managed. Somehow they booked an outing the same day but were still taking tee times so there was a line on the first tee of at least five carts waiting to tee off. This put them about 30 minutes behind on tee times, so not off to a good start. It took myself about 3 hours to play 9 holes! A wait on literally every shot because of the bad course planning by management. I would not want to go back, regulars told me “oh it’s always like this” so unless you want to play a 6 hour round then be my guest. But I digress, the course was in good shape, greens rolled really nice, fairway was a bit thick for my liking. Tough tree lined fairways so you have to hit Golf shots, course was pretty decent. Would not go back due to management and pace of play.
Nice
Nice course, in very nice shape. Course was full when we played. Hole signs showed wster hazards. Would be helpful to have on cards too.
Never played
Never played cause rained but I paid for round even drove most way there live hr and half away. Unfortunately golf now with there new bs have book days in advance use reward which doesn't make sense cause means I use a lot. So didn't get play course rainy drove two hours and used up reward lol.
Green and some challenging holes
We haven't had much rain, so a lot of courses are burn't out. Not here! Course was green and in great shape with the greens being pretty quick. They had some very challenging holes!
Fun course
Awesome course, playing a second time will be even better. Nice range. Greens just right quick but not lightning. If your in the area a must play .
Very Nice Course
I'm a little spoiled in that I was a member for 43 years at one of the top rated courses in the country. White Pines very nice true greens that make it a very enjoyable place to play golf. Young staff was very friendly.
Every reason to get outside Toledo to play golf!!!
Not a bad drive just take airport road out to Swanton and travel south towards Neapolis to road 2 it's between A and B on 2 and I love the fact that a tee time is preferred but have walked on many times too. There is one fact that no course has in this area and that is when it really pours rain most golf courses will close or you can't play at all. This course has the best drainage of any course I've ever seen. We waited only about 30 minutes after a 2 hour down pour and got to play with no standing water anywhere except maybe a few sand traps and cart paths. Greens are well taken care of by members and Maintenence. What a great course from tee 1 to 18!
First timers
Being first time players here, we didn't know what to expect, but the found the course to be true in yardage and for the season, maintained well. Love all the white pines.
Best greens in the area
I will play as much as possible here this year. The course is fun and challenging. The greens are great and roll the best around. Best place for me to play.
Course is well kept and the greens are excellent.
Challenging holes for all age groups, staff is friendly and welcoming. They take pride in the course and have improved the cart paths in the last two years. Pace of play is good and the course is always playable even after heavy rains. Like the layout and plays numerous times a year.
White Pines
I have played here two or three times a year for 10 years and this was the condition I have ever seen this course. After a heavy rain and the tees, fairways and greens were perfect, will play here again.
Cart Paths
Fairways and greens fun and challenging. A nice course to play. Only negative is the cart paths are very poorly maintained or actually not maintained at all. . 10-15% are real paths the rest are dusty trails that makes you feel gritty when done. Only way to survive the trails when dry is get off the trails as soon as possible. Not good for the grass but only acceptable way for golfers.
Good course – different challenges
The first challenge is getting to the golf course. I did not see any signage on roads nearby the course. You have to give yourself time to be sure you know where you're going. Second, I was very surprised how full the schedule was on an afternoon. Flow was a little slow. Third, I was disappointed that course was being mowed by multiple "mowers" during an afternoon. Often times they just kept mowing like they never saw you in the tee box, fairways or greens. Other courses I've played in the area seem to mow real early in the morning. Not while the course is full. Fourth, the greens are very, very large and very quick – you could say, low and tight. There is a lot of variety on the course to make it a challenge. In spite of these things, I would come back.
Very poor service
I have played and enjoyed this course several times. Yesterday we had a tee time for 12:40pm and upon arrival were told that there was an outing and carts were not going to be available for a while. Apparently everyone was on the last one or two holes. Later we were told there would be a new shotgun start at 1:30pm and that we would start on hole 11. Played slowly then when we came to 1 there were two groups waiting to tee off. The course had taken new play and had them tee off. When we finally finished 18 there were three groups waiting to tee off 10 as the course was sending new play off the back. We quit after 17 holes and over 5 hours.
Great value!
This course provides a "blue collar" feel. The staff is very friendly and it's an overall great value.
