Diamond in the rough
The course was in excellent conditions with greens, fairways and tee boxes in excellent condition. Plyed on a Friday afternoon and pace was great. Price for food and drinks were well below what you normally pay at other courses. Great value for the money. Staff very friendly. I am currently from Georgia and definitely play again on my visit to the Toledeo area.
nice course.
The course was very green for as dry as its been lately. Greens were fast but not overly difficult. Had a great time and play moved along nicely. I will surely play it again
White Pines Review
Everything was great except didn't get to tee off until 25 minutes after our tee time due to the 1st tee being backed up. And we were stuck behind a slow 4-some. We didn't get all 18 in before dark with the tee time at 2:48. The 4-some was not the fault of the course, however what is the purpose of a tee-time if you have to wait for 3 groups in front of you?
Great Value
Since the last time I played they seem to have taken much better care of the course. The greens are quick and true and the fairways are very nice.
Back 9 is worth it!!!
This golf course usually has horrible pace of play but this time i was able to make it around in 3hr after getting paired up. The last time I played here, I left after the front nine took 3 1/2 hours to play.
The front nine is the easier of the two nines. Short par 4's and 3's. Decent length for the Par 5's. Tree are your only real hazard on the front.
The back has some water and forced carries to deal with. Much more challenging golf on the back nine. Would not play here very often due to pace of play issue.
White pines
Course was in fantastic shape in at $13 a person for 18 in a cart with our golf now if he it was a dream come true!
this course has great greens
a very good layout, fair and in great shape, very enjoyable time with very friendly caring people,a very good value for your money.
Worth Just A One time Play Here...
I played White Pines as a departing Ohio weekend course on Sunday. Out in the middle of no where I did like, But when I arrived I was amazed at the course traffic at 9 AM. Seems everyone knows of this course in Toledo. I played the course in reverse, back 9 first and front nine second with couple of local guys. Due to heavy rainsin Ohio, this course was wet. And roughs very high. I was surprised it was open so much water out on the course, was like playing a swamp. But I will not hold this against the course. Course is very open and scattered trees all over. Only 2 tee boxes for the men. But I played the back and it was more challenging with much more distance to the course. I recommend playing from the backs if you want a challenge, the fronts or white tees are way to easy even for the average golfer, Greens in great shape with good roll, not much of degree of slope to the greens here, pretty flat. One difficult hole here on the back sharp dog leg left if you do not make the corner on drive it becomes a hard hole. Staff was nice, and people on course where very nice. And I like courses that you have little to no back to back holes, and this course keeps you away from on coming golfers. Nothing special White Pines, But I Enjoyed this one time play course in Ohio.
Flat and playable
Moderate course, in good condition. Not too difficult, but fun to play.
Not bad for the money
If you're looking for serious golf- this is not the place.
Pretty loose with regard to noise and speed of play.
Rangers could be helpful- I like it and will play again, but more as a practice course.
PACE OF PLAY SUCKED
Course was packed to the gills on a Friday morning. They were letting 5 & 6 people on a group. I left after 4 holes. .
White Pines golfing
Booked a tee time for 3 and the staff completed our team to a foursome by assigning a fourth person. Turns out this gentleman was a semi-retired fellow that bonded with our group quickly and we all had a great time.........thanks Ralph. Course was in excellent condition and a very friendly staff made the whole experience wonderful.
excellent fairways and greens
Great course overall! Had fun and it was in great condition. Will play several more times
White Pining for you
Lots of pines for those that a somewhat errant, but not unfair really. greens were surprisingly trim for this time of year, and not terribly slow. course played reasonably long with the wind we had. big hitter use the back tees. there are a couple of wonky holes, but the course is pretty enjoyable and normally a good price due to location.
unfriendly staff
I was scheduled to play White Pines and upon my arrival was told that they had an outing that day and could not let me play even though I had made the tee time two days prior to the golf day. The staff there showed no concern that we had driven twenty miles to the course and had taken time off from work to golf. If the staff had made an effort to correct the problem in some manner I would have been al least somewhat satisfied. Therefore, I would not go back there ever just due to the staff.
Good Course - Very Slow Play
This was a good course, especially for the money. The only complaint was the pace of play. We got stuck behind 2 groups of 4 that appeared to be regulars and they were extremely slow. Never once offered to let us play through. Most of the time we were waiting around 5 - 10 minutes per shot. Not what I expected for a Wednesday afternoon.
This course is maintained well. Very friendly staff, having a course ranger would improve the playing time.
This is a very well maintained course, friendly staff, having a course ranger will improve playing time.
Greens were firm
Greens were firm and rolling good. Fairway grass was long and not so much roll on fairways.
Whutw pines
Beautiful and challeging. The is in great condition.
This is exactly the way it was. Our tee time was at 2:48, and we didn't get to tee off until 3:15. We were done with the front 9 at 5:55.
