Under construction but fun
The course was under construction and we were having issues with following the locations of holes.
Under construction
This is my first round. The parking lot is temporary dirt and gravel. Nice pro shop in a small house. Portapotties for bathrooms.. The course has been rerouted for some reason. This created problems with my GPS. The carts do not have wind shields. Four hours and fourty five minutes is a little long. OK now for the good stuff. The playing conditions were way above average. There was even sand in the bunkers and rakes. Most golfers even used the rakes. The greens were fast and difficult to read. Bring your A game because this is a challenging course. Once the construction is completed, this will be one of the best courses in the area.
Under repair
It's still a mess.
But the threesome I was grouped with was epic.
Iggys brother ,frank, worriors ball.
Bay area faithful.
Tough greens. Routing a little confusing
First time playing this Donald Ross course. Lived up to the hype stylistically. Getting in the wrong place on or around the greens can be deadly. Construction has made the routing a little muddled and confusing. Excellent use of elevation changes. Will definitely look to play it again, but will need to bring a much better short game to have any chance to score well.
Where do I go
The club house construction caused me to park 1/4 mile away from the carts, in a dirt/mud lot. Starting on formerly 17, one of the tuffest holes, did not help my round. Very confusing where to go after second hole. Maybe put up a sign for people. No signs for the pro shop was also confusing. Going from #4 to #5 -without a sign- was confusing. The course was in great condition, except no tee box on #5(formerly #1). The pin placements were REDICULOUS!!!!!! This isn't the US OPEN, NUMEROUS flags were 3-4 feet from the edge or a trap or a mound to roll off the fast greens. Buy some cardboard to make signs to clarify where to find the pro shop or holes on the course.
Ranger needed
Foursome in front of us hit at least 8 balls on just about every driver hole. So we waited on just about every hole.
Must play
I drove and hour to play and was well worth it. Staff were exceptional at check in. Course was in immaculate condition greens are very challenging but fair. Highly recommend playing. We will be back
Great course
They’re doing a lot of work to make it an exceptional experience. In the meantime they could a Marshall on the course
Great layout and in nice condition
Jeffersonville is one of the best public courses in the area!
Under Construction
The course is currently undergoing an extreme makeover. They tore down the old building that housed the Pro Shop, bathrooms, luncheonette and meeting rooms. They are also putting in new drainage lines and who knows what else as the "old first hole fairway is totally torn up with construction equipment working on it
The course hole sequence assignments are totally rearranged as well. For instance, you now start on 17, then 18, then 11, 12, 1 and 2. I can't remember the sequence after that.
I really enjoy playing Jeffersonville because the conditions are always in great shape and the greens are undulating and fast.
