Great Track, Slow Horses
If this was the only course I could play, I would be just fine with that.
Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens all in excellent playing conditions. The wind was up which made it tougher. Every shot is demanding here with fast greens. The only complaint would be pace of play and no ranger all day.
Can’t Believe this is not a private course.
Wow!!! My first go around at Jeffersonville and I was very impressed. I was paired up with 2 regulars that helped me navigate the course. The conditions were top notch. Even the regulars say best it’s been. Donald Ross makes you think about every shot. The greens were smooth and fast.
Weekday afternoon took 4:15 to get around. I’ve already booked again for next week. Amazing golf course!!!
Rude Starter
Upon arrival at tee box for scheduled play, I witnessed the starter ( retired policeman) rudely stating to a customer that " you either get in the golf cart with this player (covid-19 potential ) or get your money back at the pro shop. This is township rules".Not a good way to enjoy a relaxing day golfing .
Otherwise, the course was in its best condition ever. Trees are being removed ,greens are fast and challenging and overall excellent performance by the grounds team. Keep up the great improvements
Don Ross for public play
Top notch course, conditions are country club like and staff is very friendly. You should have FOMO if you have not palyed this course.
Great course
Great Donald Ross design. The greens are very challenging.
Best Public Course Near Philly
The course is not only well designed but maintain with care and precision for an affordable price
Donald Ross Never Fails
If you are looking to play a course in eastern PA designed by the famed golf architect Donald Ross, then Jeffersonville is the perfect place for you. Many of the familiar design elements that you will find on other Ross courses, such as Pinehurst No. 2, Mid Pines, and Southern Pines in the Sandhills of North Carolina, are found in this gem. Sloped, pristine, and speedy greens reward accurately placed shots. Finding the wrong or short side of the green makes par a challenge. Adding to the beauty and challenge of the green complexes are strategically placed and well-maintained bunkering, some with steep faces. And as typical of any Ross design, elevation up to the green or down to the green plays a part in many of the holes. The challenges on and around the greens more than makeup for the short distances of this Par 70 course. One great benefit to the shorter distance is that Jeffersonville is definitely walker friendly.
The only average rating I give Jeffersonville is regarding the off-course amenities. Understand that none of these things take away from the golf experience for me. They are just my observations. The clubhouse is small, in an old building and leaves a lot to be desired, but we were told they have plans to build a new clubhouse soon. Signage could be better for first-timers attempting to find their way to the pro-shop. There was a large parking area prior to getting to the clubhouse that is a short walk to the clubhouse, but we were unaware of additional parking past the clubhouse. Also, it didn't seem that there were cart attendants to unload or load our bags upon arrival. That's possibly a result of the current difficulties in hiring. The putting green, which sits next to the first tee, did not have holes cut or target flags. Not a huge deal as you can leave a ball or place a tee as a target, but that might be surprising to you on your first visit. Also, there is no restaurant on the grounds. A halfway house (available before the first tee and after 10) provides a full menu of drinks, snacks, and hot foods, including hot dogs, hamburgers, and other pub-style fares.
I highly recommend anyone who is in the Philadelphia area to book a tee time at Jeffersonville! It was a great experience, and I can't wait to go back again.
Nothing Special, Just Ordinary
Start off with a putting green with no holes, or pegs, so that sets the tone for the course. The tee boxes were in good shape but every hole felt very similar. Up or downhill drive with a chip into a undulating green with tournament placed pin locations. Didn’t particularly lend itself to thoughtful, shot shaping play. For $50 a round on a Friday I would call it uneventful. The best part of a whole round was the andouille sausage at the turn. Also, the round was 5hrs with no thought for pace of play. We played as a twosome and had no luck with even attempting a 4hr round. For 6400 yards from the tips the groups should be moving quicker. Unimpressed and unlikely to return
Playing Oldie But Goodie
Use to play here 35 years ago. The layout changed a little but still really nice. Tee box, fairways and greens were all in great condition. Staff was super friendly. I will play here again my next visit.
Now in TX
I last played here 40 years ago. The layout has changed a bit but a really nice course. Fairways and greens in great condition. Whenever I get back to Philly I will definitely play here again.
