Another elevated green at Beacon Ridge. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 12/27/2013
Monie well spent
Good practice facilities. Many side up hill second shots onto fast greens. Elevation changes on each hole. Major stratigy change coming from flat land, Florida, Texas.
Golf course rating
The course was not in good shape, cart paths were terrible, and it took almost 5 hours to play and had already 3 groups on every hole. Had to wait on every shot and never saw any staff to try and improve pace of play. Don’t think I will play this course again!
First time here. Considering the time of year (February) and all the recent rain the course was in really good condition. Greens were really good. The staff at the shop were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely play again.
Not worth it
The poor quality of the greens caused ball deviation when putting. Fairways did not drain and were very muddy for no rain in a week. The tee time was also overbooked with 5 people. I
Still love it
Played a few months ago- course was trending in the right direction and it still is! Such improvements over the last few years- far from perfect but a great layout & relaxed atmosphere make it $ well spent. Always enjoy a round at BRidge- happy to support a golf course making strides to improve its conditions & overall experience! Thanks & happily will return again soon! - JP
Ok round
Staff was great I was a little late for 7 am tee time accident on the way there still accommodating. 1 st nine played in about an hour but they sent 3 foursomes out on the back in front of me so 2.5 hours on the back. Not sure why some old hats get special treatment going off on back in front of others?
Will go back!
The course is definitely coming around! For the last few years this course has struggled, but under its new ownership it looks like they are on the right track to make this one of the top courses in the moore county area! Looking forward to playing it again!
Hidden Gem
Give this beauty a try- both you and your wallet will thank me! As far as layout / conditions / price point are concerned- this course is about the best deal anywhere- quite the comeback from past struggles
Nice Layout.
First time playing the course. Pleasantly surprised. Fun course. Pleasing to the eye and in decent shape. Greens were good.
Great course definitely worth a visit
Played this course and found it to be a hidden gem.
Club has just reopened in the last 2 years but in great shape. They need some regular visitors in order to get clubhouse amenities opened however.
We would love to see that happen.
Truly a Sandhill gem.
Honest opinion
The layout is challenging and course condition are good. The bent grass greens were recently replaced with Sunday Bermuda and are growing in nicely. Although the grass on the back nine is a bit sparse they rolled true and s a reasonable pace. Bunker conditions varied but were playable. There are no off course amenities.
New Bermuda Greens, Much Improvement
New Sunday Bermuda greens were installed over the summer. They are growing in very nicely and putt true. Bunkers were recently sifted of rocks. The grounds crew and management are focusing hard on improving course conditions. Can’t say enough about the greens as they get better and better each week. The front nine reopened in early July, the back nine in August so the are a little behind the front nine. If you played here during the past 3 years when the bent grass greens were struggling, play it again with the Bermuda greens. The layout is fun and challenging.
The greens on this course were not in very good shape (too much rain for the bent grass is my guess). Fairways were ok. There were so many areas ornaments this course that were completely saturated with water you couldn’t walk in those places to retrieve your ball let alone take a cart. It blew my mind that even in those saturated areas they were still watering them with sprinklers! Perhaps they were automated but didn’t make a lot of sense to me. The gentlemen working the pro shop was extremely nice and helpful. I’ve golfed here before and have seen it in much better shape than I did this day.
Beacon Ridge Golf Club
Was really impressed with how well the condition of the course was. Fairways ‘Over-seeded’ and the New Sunday Greens are in very good condition. The new owner is doing a great job and very helpful with all of our concerns. Very friendly and helpful staff. Come play the New Beacon Ridge.
Temp Greens
The course was not ready to play.... They were operating Temporary Greens. The greens won't be ready until this coming Friday 26 Oct 18. The sand traps weren't racked and the course was wet..... The course is also hard to find even with a navigation system on my phone. If I had of known the greens weren't ready, I wouldn't have booked this round for me and my wife. Such a disappointment.
We are sorry that you had a poor experience. We have recently reintroduced Golf Course Marshals to speed up play.
Our course is rated for a 4 hour and 20 minute round. It rarely goes beyond that. Please give us another try!
