72 degrees nice breeze . Course in great shape couldn't couldn't ask for anything better

This was the second time I have played here. The first was not good, no grass, but now it is much improved. The greens were in good shape, bunkers needed some sand, we had several shots bounce right out. Maybe that is good, no not really. The course is challenging but not overly so. We all enjoyed our round and will return.

Course heavily reflecting lack of water on a good deal of the fairways--some of which are now reduced to dirt. Sand in traps chunking. Greens were smooth and fairly consistent. Player protocols widely ignored, as bunkers frequently not raked and green divots left unrepaired.

I really like the course, but unfortunately, the course was hosting a tournament with SD PD . I understand tournaments and think they are a great thing, I have played in numerous tournaments myself. Salt Creek needs to figure out a way to monitor and enforce pace of play. The tournament started at noon and I booked a three some for 2:42. The SD PD had the entire course congested and were not out of the way until after 7pm! It was ridiculous!

I've played this course a number of times over the last 3yrs. It's usually ok. Course conditions and layout are better than average.

However, today the pace of play was terrible. 5.5hrs for 18holes! We had to wait on every shot because there was a benefit tournament ahead of us with mostly retired folks who were mostly beginners.

Course staff should have at least reminded them beforehand to stick to a required pace. I guess they just didn't care. We even called them a few times but nothing was done.

It was a torturous day. I don't think I'd want to see this course again for a long while.

I absolutely love this place. Thecourse: beautiful greens that are in amazing shape. You can tell that people who play here are true stewards of the game. Very few un-repaired ball marks. The fairways are in better shape than the last time I played but let's be real, we are under water restrictions and it is a links style course so I give them high marks. The scenery is amazing as well. Well worth a drive to come here and play this course because there's not many like it in all of SD county.

Someone gave the range bad marks but it's a range and it's not Augusta. It's a real grass range and I think it's in nice shape. The practice facilities are top notch as well.

Staff was, and always is amazing. Very helpful all the time. I take my small boys with me to the range a few times a week and they are more than accomidating. I would tell anyone to place this course on you must play list if you haven't already.

I think this is one of the most challenging tracks in San Diego. It's got par 3's that play to over 200 yds with wind and elevation, and 500 yd plus par 5's. I just love this place and to think it only cost me $13.49 (thank you Golf Now) including the cart is just ridiculous. I can't wait to go back and try to better the 78 I shot today!

Despite watering restrictions this course is in good shape. The greens are challenging and there is a nice variety of hole layouts. The views are spectacular too.

The course is in excellent shape, greens are very nice and fairways are back in shape. Two reasons for not giving salt creek 5 stars: When I got there proshop told me I was not in the tee sheet even though I had the reservation confirmation with me(Guy was very nice and let me go ahead and play). 2)There were some big groups playing around the course, we got to play behind and 8some, and there were quite a few fivesomes in front. Will play this course again anytime since the conditions are very good but the pace of play was a let down.

Challenging layout with risk reward ratio about right. Many fairways slope significantly left or right - course knowledge is beneficial. Greens moderately soft but in smooth condition. Worthy to play anytime.

Tee to green could be in better condition, although greens were terrific (although I couldn't read'em). Played like a true links course. Fees were adequate (46) on a Sunday. No starter and slightly unorganized going off. Range hitting area poor.

One of the best courses in San Diego, and a great value for the money. Good variety of holes, and challenging but fair layout. Not the best course for weekend hackers as you will lose a lot of balls, but if you are a decent player you will love this course.

Oh, and if you can't carry your driver at least 230 yards comfortably, don't play from the back tees. There are a lot of forced carries.

I like simplicity. I find it humorous that people rate a course and start ranting on about the deplorable conditions of a cart. Yes a cart!!! Look if you love to play, salt creek provides every challenge imaginable. Wind, tough greens, uneven turf, dry areas, elevation etc... For a summer day, I personally liked the condition of the course. I simply appreciate the design. However, this is not a links. It has certain aspects of a links course but overall it simply does not play like a links. Think Chambers bay or hidden valley. Enjoy yourselves and simply pick your shots wisely

The course was fine. Lots of dry/dead spots, but with San Diego's drought this is expected. Speed of play was fine, rarely waited. However, the cart I received was disgusting. It looked like someone puked in it, and it was sprayed down but never cleaned. Never saw a food/drink cart on the course either, which was disappointing on a hot afternoon.

Enjoyed golf game. The pace was fine enjoyed the view. Very challenging course enjoyed playing there.

Fun Course. A little bit of sprinkles in the morning but had fun.

I don't know what it is about this course, but I always seem to score well here. So, it's pretty obvious why I like it. But there's more to it. Salt creek has excellent practice facilities and a very friendly staff. The value for your money is wcond to none. Once you learn the course, you'll know where to hit/miss and will definitely enjoy.

The course was in decent condition. However, this is the second round I've played there where it was clear the greens had not been mowed or rolled which led to bumpy and shaggy greens. I was robbed of 2 strokes due to bumps knocking my ball off line. Tee boxes are also a bit ratty.

Overall, I highly recommend the course.

The course looks like a construction site. Fairways are like concrete and the greens are atrocious. I assume the water shortage has had an affect but I play other courses around the county and this one is by far the worst.

Was in great shape and we had a lot of fun. It was hard and fast in the fairways but the greens were receptive. Greens were above average in overall quality and speed. It was wide open on the front nine but somehow we waited on several groups on the back. Overall was 3 1/2 hour round.

The course was in good shape! The staff is very friendly!
