Cimarron Golf Club
About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Very Fun Course
1st time here. The course was in really good shape, even with the prep work for their over-seed. Greens were smooth, receptive, and decent speed. Fairways are starting to dry out, but still soft enough to really attack the ball. Bunkers were soft and playable. A very fun course layout with some beautiful holes.
Only complaint is with the members. As a non-member, I was treated very poorly by other members. They continually hit into our group, rushed us off tee boxes and greens, even though we had no room to move faster due to slow play ahead of us. Completely unethical golfers, with absolute disregard for me and my friend.
Nonetheless, If not for the great staff and fun course, I'd never come back.
I recommend this course to anyone, however beware the members, as they seem to be very aggressive and disrespectful to public players.
Slow but Steady
The course itself was pretty nice. Fairways were in good shape and the contoured style was challenging. Every shot was a downhill or uphill or sidehill lie. The greens were average in speed but difficult in placement. No GPS so each shot had to be looked at carefully. We played behind slow players and that was a bit of a pain. Course was full and lots of noise in the neighborhood with homes on every hole. If you miss the fairways it was all rock which looks pretty but you can't play on it. Bottom line..typical Sun City course with more difficulties than normal. Not bad is the best I can say.
Love this golf course! This time of the year is tuff because of courses are preparing for overseeding. Yesterday it would have been nice to have known that the asga was having a tournament there. That turned an enjoyable 345 to 4 hour round into a smooth 5 hour round!
Great course. A different kind of Sun City course
This course is not the traditional flat Sun City course. It has rolling hills and keeps the difficulty up with having to hit shots above and below your feet. Course looked beautiful and the water hazard were bright blue. Awesome pace of play because I believe a lot of the residents find the course too challenging so they don't come out and play Cimarron as often
Fun and Challenging
I have played this course several times over the summer. I have yet to have a bad experience. (poor play on my part not withstanding....that would be my issue, not the courses. Don't confuse the two).
The course is still in great condition even after a long hot summer. The staff and rangers have always been friendly and helpful.
Some holes are more difficult than others. I think this place has a fun and challenging course. You have to learn to play the wind on some holes. There is a long par 3 which always seems to have the wind against me.
I had a great time on this last round.....and as God is my witness I shall birdy the 18th hole someday!
Beautiful, challenging course
Being my first time at this course I didn't know what to expect. What I found out was that this course was:
In excellent condition
Had a number of water holes to get you into trouble
Wide fairways to handle errant drives
Medium fast greens in excellent condition
The only negative was the distance from Phoenix. It took a little under an hour to drive.
I would love to play again.
Great course!
If you haven't gotten a chance to golf at Cimerron, make sure you do! This is the nicest Sun City course I have played. Right up there with Copper Canyon as my favorite extended Sun City course. Luscious fairways, fast greens, and just an absolute beautiful track.
Beautiful day, Beautiful course!
I played this course a couple of weeks prior to this and absolutely loved it so I decided to come back. What a great idea. It was a beautiful day, somewhat windy, but overall a great day to play. Pace of play was good and Cassidy and Leslie (pro shop) were fantastic! The course was in good condition and the greens were rolling well. I will definitely be back as it is now one of my favorite courses in the area. Nice practice facility and offers a good challenge for all levels.
Sun City Challenge
Cimarron is a great course with a challenging and entertaining layout. A proper mix of long and short par 3s, par 5s that are true three shot holes, and plenty of hazards to navigate on the par 4s.
The course was unfortunately a little more haggard than i have ever seen it - and my bar is set rather high. Sand patches on a handful of greens and fairways are normally expected by the end of summer, but they were very noticeable during our round. That being said, the fairways were generous, the rough was just penal enough, and the greens rolled true. Definitely worth a play before the snow birds get back and hog all of the tee times.
Great course
This course in great shape. If you hit it good you never have a bad lie. Last 2 times played I haves shot my best rounds since living out here (8 months) 72,73. Greens are very receptive to approach shots. only weird rule is you can't have 3 carts on a fairway at once???
Another good Sun City Grand Course
First time playing Cimmaron this year. Tee to green the course is in good to excellent shape except they have aerated all the fringes around the greens. Pace of play is excellent this time of year and Golf Now has some good tee times and prices right now. Better hurry to play because Course will be shut down early October for reseeding and the cost will go up after it reopens.
Great value
Our 2 sum played13 holes b4 we saw another group. Played entire round in 3 hrs. Course in good condition, plenty of water an good layout
Great course, nice folks
Course in great condition, greens were nice and fast with true breaks. Fairways pristine. T blocks sized to all levels of golfers. Challenging with good sized fairways to pick your spots. Wife and I really enjoyed the Sun City Grand golf experience.
