Macatawa Golf Club

We played this course in terrible weather in June- highs around 60 and a constant drizzle with high winds. I wouldn't say this about many courses, but Legends was spectacular in these conditions. Well designed with difficult holes ending in relatively easy greens while shorter/easier holes include some real roller coasters with the flat stick. Lots of memorable holes, a beautiful clubhouse environment and the friendliest staff I've encountered in a long time. It plays like a links course with huge expanses of open area that punish you in the wind. It may be $10-15 overpriced if you pay full freight, but they are listed on GolfNow so my partner and I played for a song. My only complaint is that they should reverse the 9's... After a spectacular opening 9, the second 9 feels a little flat. If you have the chance, play the back 9 first... It'll leave the impressive front side fresh in your mind for the 19th hole and beyond.

Challenging but very playable. Fairways are big but Heather grass well penalize you if you don't hit them. Greens are quick but receptive.

Golf course is in great condition. Most beautiful fairways I've played this year.

This was our first time visiting and it exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly and helpful. The course was beautifully kept. Holes are challenging yet playable for the average golfer.

You need to hit them straight, a lot of water and fairway bunkers. If you play from the whites, the bunkers are in play, from the tips, probably not! But the water is in play on just about every hole.

After starting as a Private Club I think many people overlook this wonderful course as a now Public option. There are many decent courses to play along the lakeshore but this one's unique as it offers a rare links type layout with water in play on several holes.

Because of the high winds and cool (45) conditions played the gold tees , course was sufficiently challenging, greens were in outstanding shape and the fairways well maintained.

Everything went according to what was advertised. No fuss. No hassle. Got right out there. Since I was alone, I was allowed through by two groups in the front nine, and joined a two-some for the back nine. I'll use GolfNow.com again!

First time at this course, set up as a country club. Huge, elaborate clubhouse. Lot of McMansions but not too close to play. Well maintained, greens had recently been aerated. The only downside is that course is flat, flat.

course was in nice shape; the greens were true and fast; any wind can be a factor, as the course is basically in the open (but still challenging). I would definitely recommend this course.

Excellent course conditions, super staff, great experience. Hope to play again before winter.

Green are huge in great shape the red tees for women are around 4900 yds and is still a fair test of skills

Overall course was in good condition. Greens were not maintained by players. Most greens had several ball marks that were not fixed. I would recomend handing out free ball mark tools to players. That may help in there maintenance.

Awesome course. Great views, and well kept. Not for the duck hooker, or slice... Unless you bring a dozen balls with ya. :) Just ask my buddy. Fast greens, but they rolled extremely true. I will be going back,, even though its an hour and a half away.

The greens were fast . The wind was down but the course still is a challenge.

A great links course. Always in great condition. The wind makes it new course every time.

Played this course for the first time. I was extremely impressed. I rank this course with the best in west MI.

A bargain for $30 a round. A bit more challenging than it looks too.
