Tega Cay Golf Club - The Grande View
About
Tega Cay Golf Club is surrounded by Lake Wylie, its name even means "beautiful peninsula" in Polynesian. Despite the secluded setting, the club is only minutes from Charlotte and Rock Hill. The club is distinct for being the area's only 27-hole facility. The holes are divided into three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Grande View Course is the longest of the three nines at 3,276 yards and it is also considered the most challenging. This nine is the most popular, the finishing hole was even voted the "favorite 18th hole in the Charlotte Area" by listeners of the local radio station. As its name implies, Grande View is characterized by its stunning hilly landscape. From the golf course's elevations, the views stretch across lush meadows and wooded hills.

Great Course
Played day after big rain storm (and behind 2 4 somes) so it was cart path only which is why it took 4 3/4 hours for our 2 some to play. Greens had been airated but were still in good shape Fast even though wet. I will play this course again for sure.
Great condition
This course is probably the best value you can find in and around the Charlotte area. I've played it about 10 times now and the course is always in excellent shape. It's never overly crowded either, which is great because you can play at a comfortable pace. The only bad thing about the course is that it's a bit short, especially for anyone who can hit it 290+. But overall with the excellent conditions, no crowds, and shorter course you can definitely score well here. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Greens had been aerated. Par 5's should be 4's.
If you want to score low, this is the course. Easiest i have ever played
Greens are in fine shape.
Greens were good. Course was wet but that's unavoidable with the weather lately. Overall course was in great condition.
Friendly, helpful staff, nice facilities, challenging layout.
Great Golf Now price; last minute booking. Course layout was
varied; pin placement and greens were honest/fair.
Enjoyed; will be back again.
course was in great shape and has some very challenging holes
I just learned of this course and will make it a part of my regular rotation. The staff was super friendly! There are a number of holes that unless you have played them before can be very tricky.
Great course, great customer service but slow play.
Unfortunately, I had to wait 1/12 hrs after my tee-time to get paired with another group and the play (on Sunday) was SLOW but the course is GREAT (as was the staff) and I would recommend playing it again.
2 excellent 9-hole courses: The View and Carolina Pines. 1 9-hole course in bad shape: The Cove. Play the first 2 courses and you will be fine!
We played these 3 courses on June 14th, 2013. Beautiful weather and great course conditions at Carolina Pines and The View. The fairways and greens were in pristine shape, and the roughs were playable.
The Cove, however, was in bad shape with fairways that you could not differentiate from the roughs and greens that had not received maintenance in several days. Several holes were basically unplayable.
Despite The Cove's disappointment, the beauty and challenge presented by Carolina Pines and The View made the afternoon very enjoyable. These two courses are tough without being frustrating and, in my opinion, the most beautiful courses in the Greater Charlotte area.
The hilly terrain and the frequent water hazards make them challenging but playable and fun even for a mediocre player like me.
I would definitely recommend them and look forward to playing them again soon.
grand view nine is one of the best around
Good course. Well worth the 42 price tag. We did have a slow group in front of us but they stopped for rain and we played thru
Great Course
Great course! Played on 6/5/13 and the course was in great shape. Greens rolled true and playing surface was in great shape. Not a long course with all par 5's reachable in two. Excellent course will play again.
Great shape
The greens and fairways are the best I've ever seen there.
The staff could be a little more attentive. Score cards not available anywhere but in pro shop but was not offered when checking in. Had to go back to pro shop to get card. As a result missed out tee off slot and had to wait for two groups ahead.
Pace of play was terrible and poor conditions
The fairways are narrow and there are too many tricked-up hols that require local knowledge to know where to hit the ball. The fairways have very little grass.
Great course
The course is in great condition. Only down side is some of the tee boxes are right next to the street but besides that everything is pretty much perfect. Will come back and play again!
Tight tree lined fairways, multi -tiered greens, sand ,water, 1/2 island grrens....it was great !!
Hooked up with Lyle, Ron and Al,three of your members.
They were very friendly and helped me through the course as best as they could. Thanks guys !!

Tega Cay
Have not played this golf course in over a year and remember why. Course condition was in ok shape but I hate this layout. Think you can hit driver on 2 holes..Kinda a glorified putt putt course. Greens where in good shape but mini verde which many courses are going to and I really hate how hard they are. If you like to hit the driver stay away from this course.. on the other hand, if you hit your 6/7 iron well you should be able to score..
the greens are in great shape
the staff are very kind and helpful they care about your experience and accomidations
Super nice
A really nice course with multiple elevation changes. Will definitely play again and recommend to others. We played right after a weekend of rain so course was still sopping wet with standing water in places.
Great deal
Greens are maintained. Can roll fast at times. Can't just rip driver from the tips every hole. A lot of different clubs will be used for tee shots. When dry fairways roll for days. Sand traps are a miss, but how many courses have perfect sand traps. Great deal for the money.
Pleasant Surprise
This was the first time I had been to Tega Cay, I was very impressed with the condition of the course, fairways were clean and greens were immaculate. Would recommend course to anyone, not only was it a fantastic time, but it was the most economical of the day.
Great Shape
Top-notch conditions for early in the season. I would expect it to get much better as the weather turns around. Greens in great shape (a little slow) but otherwise just needs a little more time to shape up.
